Everything I have heard from Tim indicates it is purely a decision made based on space and the upswing in GP attendance.
All sources I've heard from say the same.
With the upswing in American GP attendance (Chicago was a factor as well) they decided they needed a venue with ample space, and were unsure the Seattle location would be able to adequately accommodate it.
Of course, this is merely informed rumor and hearsay, and until we hear from Tim himself, merely speculation as well.
LOL you come in and make ridiculous sensationalist statements with no proof or even a hint of proof and then finish off with never looking here again because im going to be called out on my ridiculous statements.... Good call.
How would you feel if every time you posted a comic (or poem, or piece of writing, or picture, or altered art, or some thoughts on a random matter, or whatever else may be your piece of cake), you'd get these *****y people telling you how much you suck? I bet you're going to say you'd just ignore them but I say that's a lie. Get a life, do some work of your own instead of being a douche to someone else who actually does do something instead of just whinning about others.
Also, I was seriously considering risking a suspension or warning or whatever by avoiding the censor ban simply because the kind of attitude that made this guy stop doing what he liked doing makes me so damn mad. In the end, I realised it just wasn't worth it, because it's hardly going to give cmgerard reason enough to resume doing what he was doing.
Basically, it was just a group of a dozen dumb bullies making fun of the guy that likes to draw stuff. Really manly and mature. Way to go.
Bull. Anyone who writes or draws, or any other form of art, gets criticized. For instance, having written about Magic, My articles get criticized all the time. I take that criticism, and try to get better. But I don't quit.
It was news on the launch. Updating the header is probably a bit much. The thread title should be fixed at something like "New Magic Webcomic 'Five Color-Control' Launched!"
I took what you all had to say into consideration and I hope it showed in this past wednesdays comic, and will show in this wednesdays comic. Also good news to old school magic fans. This Friday I have Melissa Benson for the Artist Spotlight. What did you think of Dan Dos Santos this past friday?
I have ignored both your site and that feature until the term "Fart" is removed. It's insulting to the artists, and I have sent advice to the Magic artists that I do know to refuse to partake, if contacted.
I'm excited because this will make the summer months when a lot of players are away from College and playing more a more exciting time. Also, drafting will be better during that time, as those same players have enough money to draft more often.
I wonder though how many will stick when they realize how much learning they may have to do for Magic. I'm sure some will balk at the curve of trying to learn a very different card game.
I think we won't see all of them come over, and only a portion that do will stick with it. But it will be enough. They have the competitive fire, they'll tough it out.
This will be interesting.. will our secondary market prices now surge in the light of a horde of new players coming? Will YGO players even want to play magic?
Although, this is definitely a great move on WOTC's part.
Doubtful, many of them will probably be getting cards locally, both stores and MTG players. Maybe some spike, but doubtful.
Genius. What comes off as a good PR move of generosity turns into stealing another games top-quality players. Brilliant move, but I wonder what kind of impact will this have on nationals (size, # rounds per format, etc)?
Shouldn't affect it that much, it's already longer than a Grand Prix with less participants...
He has had a lot of hats, it seems, in that time, and probably will continue to do so...
Uh, barely a year... Bryan Zembruski was doing the job last year at Nationals.
I too wonder if it was related to the priceless treasures e-mail, as I can't say I've seen anything else official confirming it...

Silly Player.
Not necessarily true, but possible.
It's not unlikely to see a Magic show of some sort on there.
Yes, Hasbro has many more properties it would shill first, but it also has lots of airtime to fill as well. D&D might get one as well.
I expect we'll see some interesting shows coming out.

This.

Chicago. I am acquainted with one of the judges, and he mentioned having to go to Chicago again for the court proceedings.

5 Color Control has been very funny, though.
Salt Lake is the closest. That, or Portland, if you're in Western ID. Panhandle area can make Seattle, possibly.
