Pre-Father of Machines, Thran Yawgmoth would probably be a different card entirely. I could see that one interacting with -1/-1 counters incrementally somehow.
Called it! I’m so excited to play with him. In terms of mechanics, perhaps the most black card I’ve ever seen. Paying life for card draw, mana-free sacrifice outlet, repeatable removal that bypasses indestructible, a discard outlet for reanimator, and proliferate just for fun. Definitely my new commander.
