I'm deciding between taking storm or dredge to the Open in Syracuse. Thoughts on which is better positioned right now? I mean, both are hit hard by grave hate but storm can at least win around it.
Dredge is better positioned vs Grixis Shadow I believe because of how ineffective discard and single creature removal is against it
Grixis DS is on a solid downswing (which is good news!). Right now I'd play whatever races better as Affinity is top dog.
Also, I'm all the sudden hyped for Hour of Devastation. Supreme Will has been fantastic, and RUG looks like it's getting a huge boost with Hour of Devastation as an actual boardwipe. Hour of Promise is also quite solid for Omenshift and even just 5-0'd an MTGO league as a 4 of in Titanshift.
Once I get in some more testing I may swap back to RUG instead of Bring to Light.
I am thinking of switching to Bring to Light Black as my scapeshift variant of choice for the newly spoiled Fatal Push. I dont think its the absolute tier placing deckbuilding decision, but I do enjoy playing scapeshift as a control deck. Is there anyone thinking along a similar axis with the new cards being printed?
I did for a bit, but it doesn't make sense if you're looking to play it over like Lightning Bolt. It's too much of a strain on the mana. We naturally play 10+ red sources, with BTL Black you have maybe 4 black sources at most?
If you go deep into the 4th color, you can't play Cryptic Command.
Paul Cheon is currently streaming Lantern w/ Cranes. He's currently 11-0 in competitive leagues. Here's the vod which shows the decklist and all of his games: https://www.twitch.tv/haumph/v/100046565
Anger is too hard to cast for the same reason that Molten Rain is too hard to cast. Even you say in this post that the RR is too hard to get early, yet you advocate running Anger....
One last stupid question, I have found a few different ways to actually draft the cube base on how many players (like BURNFOUR), but I can't seem to find anything on how to actually construct the boosters? Do you just randomize them with 15 cards?
With the WMCQ coming up, I am revisiting the deck more seriously again.
I am happy with most match ups. Zoo and Burn is tough but I am happy enough taking them on.
GR Tron is my big issue. I am sick of losing to the deck.
Blood Moon doesn't do enough between O-Stone and Natures Claim, because we don't have a fast enough clock.
So I was thinking. Is it time for for RUG Moon again? Do we need Goyf for the Tron match up? Do we have any other alternatives?
I think more cliques backed by remands, and boom//bust and goblin dark dwrllers is your best bet. Boom//bust has been really good for me that I am jumping up to 3 copies in the side. You need enough counter magic on the draw though otherwise boom! Is a turn too late. I would say Paul Reitzel's list with a few of the removal spells taken out for remsnds will fair the best with an extra clique in the board and 3 copies of Boom//bust.
The problem with that is that Remand plays VERY poorly with GDD. You can't really run any number of Remand over the existing removal package and still have 4 GDD. And if you don't have all 4 GDD, having 3 Boom//Bust in the SB is probably wrong as well.
I keep seeing references to your "colorless section" and some number of wastes in your basics for people to add, but I'm not able to find in your list how many you have?
I have 10 Wastes sleeved up in case players need them. I've never needed more than 3 for a whole draft. [/quote]
And they can be picked the same as a basic for the deck?
Hey I really like your cube and will be building it as my starting point in the near future! I read your article and most of your first post.

I really want to make jeskai moon a thing. Detention sphere and nahiri seem really really nice for the deck. It would be dangerous to run cryptic command with three colors and a blood moon though. I can't bring myself to part with cryptic command. Its just so good.
Nahiri is 100% garbage for this deck, she doesn't do anything this deck needs and makes the mana even worse.
Would it rather be, that Jeskai Control is the correct home for Nahiri?
The other burn spell of choice would turn into Lightning Helix/Path, you would definately want to play Colonnade and aswell add the white sideboard cards (Stony Silence, Timely Reinforcements)
- Playing Blood Moon in Jeskai is not great. Sure Nahiri would be good IF the opponent would be locked with Blood Moon; But other than that, she is not much different from what Keranos or something alike would be good for.
You are correct. If you want to play Nahiri in a URx deck, play UWR Nahiri, don't force it into Blue Moon.
Nahiri is good when your opponent is locked out with Blood Moon, but at that point, anything is good...

Went 4-2 @ a PPTQ just losing my win and in for top 8, with your 75 and SB guide today.

Do you have the 5-0 list?

I'm moving from the White splash to the Black to run 1x Collective Brutality over the Electrolyze in the MB and another 1 or 2 in the SB.
I think I really want a Crucible in here too, what can we shave to fit one in?

Both the deck creator and Efro completely disagree. (http://manadeprived.com/rg-ponza-primer/)

You want it to kill your mana dorks?
Excellent!
