Well, I definitely want that Giant. I don't know if it's a good Commander, but it does look fun. Maybe I can finally play Giant Tribal, despite the lack of Red. The Art on the Dragon is beautiful, but it's kind of a letdown that it's so small and has an ability we have seen a few times before. The Illithid is... interesting. I am not sure how effective that ability could be, but at least it's something different. The Beholder is a tad bit boring, but I like these effects because it promotes some political schemes.
Also, I would love to play a variant Commander where I could use Staff of Orcus!

Jun 30, 2021Dale Dan Tony posted a message on AFR - Will new creature types being added (from AFR) have a shot at coming from non-D&D sets/sources?I don't see why not. Although this is a "Crossover" set, they're made from the same company and already have many similarities. It probably just depends on the set to be honest.Posted in: Speculation

I hope not. That one sounds like the most boring one of the bunch. I'm hoping Loading Ready Run doesn't slow-roll this one though.
Jun 28, 2021Dale Dan Tony posted a message on [AFR] Good Morning Magic 6/28— The Faces and Hints of the Forgotten Realms Commander PreconsI'm interested in seeing what the Monsters Legends are. The BR is likely a Demon or Devil, the RG deck is probably a Dragon, but what about the other two? Maybe WUB is a Lich, and GWU is a... Giant? Not sure what that one would be.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Jun 23, 2021OWLBEAR! This means we will be getting the Commander Deck teaser from Gavin soon as well, I imagine. I am also very excited for these in particular, and wonder what they could be:Posted in: The Rumor Mill
• “Enchanted permanent is a Treasure artifact” --- Probably a new white removal spell, if I had to guess. I suppose it could be blue, black or red as well, depending on what flavor they're going for.
• “You may cast [THIS CREATURE’S NAME] from your graveyard if a creature not named [THIS CREATURE’S NAME] died this turn.” --- Hopefully this is a cool new Black Demon or something.
• “Exchange your hand and library” --- A new Enter the Infinite type of card?
• “Skeletons, Vampires and Zombies” --- Hopefully a Legendary "Undead" Lord, that finally lets you play these three tribes together in a mono black deck!

Since you and the opponent do it, I think it means "Your" as in you guys, or collectively all of you, if that makes sense.
Also, I am very happy Magister of Worth got reprinted. I love that card and I am excited to see its return.

It'll be previewed sometime during LoadingReadyRun's Strixhaven Pre-Prerelease, so anytime after 11am Pacific.
Always gotta make us wait
Apr 8, 2021Felisa seems really good. It's not hard to throw a bunch of counters on creatures you control, and then have them die off via combat or sacrifice in order to generate seas of inklings. Plus, she has evasion and a way to put counters on creatures herself. Idk, it looks good on paper to me, and I know how crazy things like Cathars' Crusade can get.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Apr 6, 2021The new cards are all pretty cool and unique, which I can really appreciate. They are dedicated to the deck's theme and look like fun and strong cards (although maybe not competitive, but that's okay. I'm more in it for the casual gameplay anyway.) Kinda sad they misprinted Zaffai's name in the text box, but I guess that gives it some weird collector value?Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Out of the new cards, I think Veyran and the octopus entices me the most along with the reusable Suspend cards (which I always thought were interesting from the Time Spiral Block).
Apr 5, 2021Posted in: SpeculationQuote from Ryperior74 »ok now that spoilers for main set are done i got a better idea of what reprints could be
i will exclude cards from the main set ofcoarse
(now most are cheap but thats only because knowing the trend that happened in 2018 going foward
Scrap Mastery probably the safest bet by far for the this deck
goblin Engineer or/and Goblin Welder
Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle yea no way historic cards won't be reprinted in this
Drogskol Cavalry this is because of the spirit tribal sub-theme in lorehold
Talrand, Sky Summoner sadly theres no avoiding this as a reprint
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Docent of Perfection
a few of cheap counterspells
Apex of power
Curse of the Swine
Finale of Promise
Bonfire of the Damned
brain freeze taking a long shot with this one
Orzhov Advokist easily the safest bet
Rankle, Master of Pranks hopefully
Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts
High Priest of Penance
Revenge of the Ravens
dread budget version of no mercy
pretty much plenty of removal spells
Vito, Thorn dusk rose
Zulaport Cutthroat Duh
Blunt the assault
well of lost dreams
Witch of the Moors Hopefully
Verdant Sun's avatar
Phyrexian plaguelord Hey maybe gets the "phyrexian" errata if it happens
God-Eternal Bontu hopefully
Ayara, First of locthwain
Simic/Quandrix (Adrix and Niv)
Roalesk, Apex hybrid
Kalonian Hydra Hopefully
because of gavins seamonster tribe support teaser will will see quite a few of those in the deck
more to come
Good guesses, but I hope some of those mentions for the Witherbloom deck are not in there. They're really... bad for Commander. Predator's Rapport? I mean we need to see like the best reprints for Black and Green that function around lifegain/drain in order to make this deck work.
I would also love for Dread to be reprinted. I've loved that card for such a long time and have awaited its return as a reprint. This would be a good place for it; I am hoping that WotC doesn't forget about it. Wouldn't it be cool if it had new art and kinda looked like a giant Inkling Monstrosity?
Apr 5, 2021Also, what time of day are we expecting these to roll out? Just whenever they feel like it? Or are we getting single cards throughout the day with the full deck at the end of the day like previous series?Posted in: The Rumor Mill

Definitely will be finding her home in lots of U/R decks, I imagine.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
