Damping sphere definitely slows down part of the phoenix plan, however its Titi that is the auto-lose for bogles so you really need those 4x path in the main. Also Tron is quite present, so I think it needs to be in the SB for you 0-3 flex slots.

I’m just not sure Bogles even makes sense outside of a meta heavy with Burn, GDS, GBx. I bring it out exclusively in response to those decks being present locally.

@SeleneElizabeth congratz on the great finish! I decided to try this list out at an fnm, but it didn't really convince me... it may be bad luck or poor mulligan decisions, but the deck was fairly inconsistent... What am I looking to mulligan for? Does this deck even mulligan well?

I just recently sleeved this up and I've play-tested it against a number of decks (Bogles, UR Thing, HS, Affinity) and it seems very clunky, quite slow, and easy to disrupt.

I'm not sure if its bad luck or poor mull decisions but the loops involving Scrap Trawler or Sly seem very slow without being enabled by KCI. Casting a Sly often costs you a turn and you're in trouble if she gets spot removed. Same issue with Trawler, and unlike in KCI you can't easily loop it back to your hand subsequently.

Whir prison can be made to accommodate the thopter-sword package and overall seems to have a higher power level. So what am I missing too?

As scary as the new card is, I don’t think it busts Bogles good matchup vs GBx/June/Rock. 2 x Arbor, cartouche both seem like excellent options against what probably wont be more than a 2 drop in GB or GDS.

There just isn’t that much Bogles, including in local metas to justify piling on that much hate.

What feels way worse for me is running into Titi or just not being able to interact with the largely faster combo decks when piloting Bogles. I love the deck, and it’s zen simplicity. I also love dropping a layline T0 vs GDS or Burn. But UR thing or even getting inkmothed by HS when you didn’t draw a path feels bad.

Noticing a few lists popping up with only three Powders, something I've tried myself in the past but never drew any conclusions about.

I feel better about maxing out Powder with my playset of Zhalfirin Void, and wonder at these lists that pass on that land, seems like a huge boost to me.

I am extremely new to this deck, but I’m not clear on why people aren’t running a play set of Void with a play set of Powder, and something like 3x scavenging grounds. Void is a free cantrip for a deck that IME runs into top-decking issues, and scavenging is free mainboard hate against T1 decks.

With 4x chalice, 4x ghost quarter, and 3-4x scavenging ground, you’ve got MB hate against all of the T1 decks just by hitting your land drops.

Can anyone elaborate more on the matchup against Izzet-Titi-Phoenix? Local meta is drowning in this deck right now which is moving me away from hardened scales and I'm tempted to finish Cheeri0s since its not too expensive once you've got the moxes and I already have the fetches.

With the mono-red version running 8 3-dmg cards my major concern is that you don't get a paladin and an early sram gets blown away before you can equip for +0/+3
