TL,DR; skip intro, go straight to decklist

    Hey all!

So I've been having a lot of fun and some good success with BUG Rock in Standard, so I checked the forums and decided to post about it since no thread seems to exist.

What drove me to want to play this color combo started with three key cards: Thought Erasure - Assassin's Trophy - Carnage Tyrant

I found in my standard matches that tempo and Planeswalkers played large parts in most games, and I wanted to be able to play with the first two cards because they are strong against walkers and live in the crucial 2-drop slot. As for the Tyrant, I wanted to play him because he just seemed like such a good 6-mana finisher - more than any other card I have run into in Standard, he demands specific unique answers or wins the game by himself.

This deck could be built a few ways, one with more counters and functioning pre-board as more of a classic blue-based control deck, or more The Rock style, tapping out more often for sweepers and value creatures.

The combo of colors opens the deck to a ton of strong cards, so much so that I'm sure my list is nowhere near perfect and that no one list will ever be perfect because the deck is so customizable to different metas.

    My current list is below:

    Maindeck notes:
    - Multani is awesome - you can surveil him away, explore him away, discard him to jump-start, and he always comes back to win you the game. He blocks angels, dragons, and lives through a lot of removal. Especially strong against Izzet who struggle to remove him.

    - Rejuvenator and Jadelight are a package that could easily change - I like them because they gum up the ground on 3 while making sure we hit more lands, and in the case of Rejuvenator accelerating (love turn 4 Doom Whisperer). Rejuve could be District Guide who will be a lot better in metas where the 2/2 body is important over the 1/1.

    - Muldrotha is super cool and I'd like to play two - I think fitting in a The Eldest Reborn would increase his value and importance in the deck. Ultimately he may just be cool and not as good as another Carnage Tyrant or an additional Planeswalker.

    - Both Discovery and Chemister's have been performing great, would like to fit in more but not sure what cuts to make.

    - The one-of Vraska's Contempt might be better off as Assassin's Trophy but I want the one-of for testing, also the exiling portion has been relevant more than once. The number of Trophy could be as high as 4 between the main and sideboard, but it is dangerous to rely on for early game removal due to the accel it provides.

    - Land numbers can definitely being adjusted, trying to find the best mix to ensure turn 2 Erasure and turn 3 Jadelight.

    Sideboard notes:
    - The package of Duress + Negate + Thief of Sanity feels really good every time I bring it in against Control decks, Erasure on 2 Thief on 3 can steal games before the other player even gets to do anything.

    - I like Status/Statue in so many situations, randomly finding enchantments and artifacts on top of creatures while also killing Carnage Tyrant whenever you have a single blocker.

    - Dead Weight could be any other 1 or 2 cost removal spells, I just like that it costs 1 and kills many of the same targets I need the 2-drop spells to kill.

    - The mix of Golden Demise/Ritual of Soot could be adjusted - it's possible there should maybe be a third Find/Finality as it is good very often.

This color combo has a ton of depth right now - I change the list everyday and am trying a few builds at once. Looking forward to any feedback or suggestions!
