How is 4 doran working for you? with vark recursion and his legend status I would only play 3. Possibly you could go down to 3 scullers as well and move two finks MD. finks is just amazing against any aggro, and a desent beater if you have slowed QnT or the like with mage. I also like Nekrataal better then maw, but if you find yourself mostly evoking, then keep the maw. That one is a personal and meta choise IMO.
On Doomed Necromancer- seems like a SB card to me, but very much worth testing

going slightly outside of budget, Profane Command is a really strong finisher. Fear, life loss, reanimation, kill spell. All of those are really strong in this deck, and bb should be too hard to get by turn 5 or so, the earliest you would want to play it.

What would you board the connonist in against? I don't see that many decks where it is that big a problem for. I guess WW or kithin, but wouldn't you just use scourglass in that MU anyway?

Elspeth and Knight Captain of Eos is a soft lock. Give the captain shroud and that seems like game against creature decks. Possibly a SB plan vs WW or kithkin?

As a semi-random preamble, I would like to say I am a visual person. I picture things as I hear them, and as such belong to the mature fraternaty that can't hear the phrase 'gorilla warfare' without having to poorly control our giggles. Anyhoo, as I was reading the list of spoiled card names, picturing the fantastic art that was sure to accompany them, when I hit Exploding Borders (mental images rarely require correct spelling). To all of you deprived people who don't see your local big box bookstore being blown sky-high, I wish you a wonderful future job as a chartered accountent.boom.jpg

In magic terms, the closest we can get to the firey demise of Barnes and Noble's competitor would be some sort of loss of library for damage. Possibly this:
    Exploding Borders
    RRRR
Remove 10 cards of your library from the game. Exploding Borders does 2 damage to each creature and each player. Reapeat this as many times as you wish.

I was not able to attend the prerelease because I had a football game that day. Figures that the year it is a reasonable distance away I can't go. Ah well, see you all at conflux!

Wow! $25! What would I get?
Well, I could finish my GW agro deck AND my red deck wins...
Or possibly grab some rare lands that would help my manabases for the next few years..
Buy into some precons or boosters and have a sweet torny with my friends...
    Or 1/2 a goyf....

Loved the cast, Limited is my thing as I cannot afford to keep up with non-MWS T2. Draft has been my favorite format ever since my friend took me to a local draft when I was still a new player. "I get to keep the cards?! Sweet!"

Most memorable pack- Some people and I bought a box from our local store (splitting the cost) and drafted. some people I knew, some I didn't. I am not real old, high school, and am not a huge regular at the store, but am a competent player. I am NOT rambling! So we settle down for some draft and I open foil criptic command, regular thoughtseize. Total poker face, I pass the pack, the guy I pass to takes one look at the pack, slams his thoughseize down, and procceds to scoff at me. I get some funny looks from the guys who know me, but nothing happens. "So sue me. I guess I am just not real up to date on price lists!" I tell everyone.
Round 1, paired against the guy who took the thoughtsieze.
"Hey dude, mind if I play this mountain instead of the command? I don't want the foil to get messed up". Everyone starts laughing.

I beat him too. That was indeed a fun day!

I kind of agree with you, but I find your unique spacing policy sort of weird. Try not to use the phrase "*****ass cost reduction", and you will seem more credible. You are right on a number of points though.

The way I see it- UW is a more consistant deck overall, but a red spash gives some better MUs and addional pros and cons to the deck. If you like the splash, fine, if not then hey, don't run it. Magic is about fun when you get down to it, and while wining is fun, so is playing the game. I wish people would stop putting each other down b/c they do or do not play 3 three colors in a magic deck. the red splash works for some people, not me personaly, but I respect that it is better in some metas or fits people playstyle better then UW. Lets just get back to testing and evolving BOTH decks.
