How many people are going to be baking wolves into pies with Witch's Oven?
I was going to Bankrupt them in Blood for card draws or Bone Splinters to destroy my opponent's creatures, but Baking into Pies could be fun too...everyone needs some life gain.
Been looking at wolf stuff since Garruk's reveal...not terrible, but not exciting enough for me to be a rare unless there are some flavorful ways of making Food that themes nicely with wolves or elves.
More wolf tribal support...I feel they're almost a thing...Tolsimir, Arlinn, now Garruk...like I want to build it, but the power is just not where I'd want it...plus having to do 3 color is not something I want to do for something that's not quite there...could be fun though. What other wolf stuff might we get here? If I pull him I might build it, otherwise, not going out my way.
Hmm...looking over the possibilities again, if I can get Garruk I might just build this wolf tribal they've been silently pushing...drop Arlinn, make wolf token, drop Tolsimir, make Voja (w/ counter from Arlinn), gain 3 life from Tolsimir, make wolf token w/ Arlinn (w/ counter from her), gain 3 life from Tolsimir, drop Garruk, make 2 wolves (each with counter from Arlinn), gain 6 life from Tolsimir, have Garruk's wolves fight opponent's creatures using Tolsimir's other ability, they die and give Garruk loyalty counters, Garruk's ultimate following turn along with another wolf from Arlinn...its got potential, just need the rest of the build around for three color WBG...I imagine there will be a few more wolves in this set, maybe even a legendary.
So they're really trying to make wolves a thing...Arlinn and Tolsimir, now this...hmm...I've been considering wolves, but I already have too many green decks as it is and not enough other wolf stuff to make something decent...so far.
Worried about this + Wilderness Reclamation, but this is a great reprint for financial reasons.
The big question now is what the green one will be.
Regardless, I do hope we get a Vedalken Orrery reprint at some point, as that card is getting expensive too. Maybe it’ll end up in a Commander precon idk.
Vivien and Teferi in War both did similar things...they probably aren't too worried.
Enjoy that new Kaalia, obviously not as powerful, as the old one, but it supports the old one nicely...I can see her working in commander as it might make your opponent regret taking her out if she's just going to come back and draw you more creatures...they work nicely together, but that's about it...could also work in a tribal for demon, dragon, or angel, but not quite as well...have already been trying to figure a deck with her and Niv-Mizzet Reborn, just haven't come up with a real strategy yet.

Bahahahaha! Bring back Mowu for that too so we have a legendary hound in the set too!
Must find my Mask of Avacyn too...
