I feel that this card suffers from being so directly comparable to mass manipulation. One mana discount to get only one target, you can get an artifact instead of a walker, and it untaps for blocking.

    Not the most exciting card.

Mass Manipulation needs a lot of mana to start actually grabbing multiple things. This is distinctly more effective at nabbing a single target (as long as it's not a planeswalker). 5 is notably a more likely cost that you will be able to play before you die to fast decks than 6 or 8 etc. There's an exponential difficulty in the higher cost

Problem is all the decks that played Mass Manipulation were ramp decks, so grabbing multiple things was a very real thing. The meta it was played in also had a number of planeswalkers which are generally insane to steal. This doesn't cap out as some insane wincon like Mass Manipulation did, 5 mana to take 1 thing is just going to be too much for Constructed.

3-cost Planeswalkers that are not poop tend to be a problem, especially for standard but it seems to be the sweet spot for eternal playability.

This gets said every 3 mana planeswalker, yet there have been loads that have seen no play over the last few years, people are just scarred by Oko, but in reality that was just an Oko problem, not a 3 mana planeswalker problem.

This is going to be expensive because of EDH, but feels really bad in Constructed to me. It literally doesn't do anything without something else, so it's a horrific top deck. The token doubler cards in the past while being EDH all stars, have never done it in Constructed, and I don't see this particularly being any different, it doesn't really pass any of the planeswalker tests, as it doesn't generate any card advantage, and doesn't really do a good job protecting itself. There's too much work required to be put in to make this passable, at which point you might as well just be playing better cards.

You definitely get the cost reduction even at night.

You need to be heavy in werewolves for this in Limited anyway, as at 6 mana this sucks, at 4 mana it's good.

this is one of the most terrible equipments i have ever seen in my life. It's all wrong. Too much mana to cast and and equip. force to play green and sacrifing a forest every turn just to keep a trampling creature? with today standards power creep, this looks to me modern age wood elemental

What are you expecting exactly? It's not meant to be Constructed playable. It's Limited filler, you're only going to actually sac the Forest if you don't care about lands by that time anyway, it's not like you're going to do that on T4. It's actually a pretty useful ability to force through damage in the late game in Limited. Having said that this type of equipment are generally overrated in Limited and are no better than filler, when it works it's good, but this will cost lots of people the game as the blowout potential is high.

This isn't Esika's Chariot. Esika's Chariot provides its own crew. If you have no board or 1 creature, this is just a blank piece of cardboard, that's a big drawback, whereas Esika's Chariot always does work, and is hard to interact with profitably.

Normally things that need at least 2 other creatures in play aren't good, and I don't see this being any different.

Let me ask something. If I play this and exile a card and then play a second wolf and exile something of the same type, a creature per say. If then I play a creature does it cost 2 less?

No because it still only shares 1 card type with cards you have exiled with Cemetery Prowler. The only way for this to reduce the cost by more than 1 is on cards with multiple card types. The ability works pretty well with artifact creatures for example which are generally colourless, exile an artifact creature with this and you can start playing Arcbound Ravager for free.

Well that’s the end of esika's chariot rein of terror in standard

This is hardly that great against Esika's Chariot. You leave them with 2 2/2's from their card, that's hardly a great result for you. So I doubt it ends its reign, but I'm not sure it's really reigning to begin with when it's pretty clear the control decks dominate Standard right now.

    THIS…CARD…IS…BONKERS!

you reduce the cost of your stuff by exiling their stuff with this

yea I can wager this is the chase mythic of the set

I doubt it's the chase Mythic. Unless there's some EDH appeal I'm missing, but it doesn't seem busted in EDH either. In Constructed it's hard to see this card in formats outside Standard, there are loads of pushed 3 mana green creatures, even in Standard I doubt this card is better than say Old-Growth Troll in mono green. Outside Standard this simply doesn't cut it in a world of Unholy Heat, Fatal Push, Fury, Solitude, 3 mana creatures have to offer way more immediate value than this to see play these days in older formats.

oh yea forgot to mention it’s only 3cmc that’s the golden ticket cmc for outside standard formats but it looks like you forgot it survives lightning bolt

and you can get it out with sun titan

Yes, the golden ticket for seeing no play normally in a world of Lurrus' and ridiculous efficiency.

I know full well it survives Lightning Bolt, but the Lightning Bolt test has long lost its relevancy. A lot of decks, namely those that can easily achieve delirium favour Unholy Heat over Lightning Bolt these days. See Corey Baumeister's Grixis Death Shadow that he just won SCG Con with going 7-0 in Modern, he's running 4 Unholy Heat, 0 Lightning Bolt, and has constantly spoke on VS Live how he thinks it's a better card for most decks (ie. not Burn or Prowess).

Indeed this doesn't even help that much vs Expressive Iteration in one of the main fail cases of the latter. Which is where you cast it T3 with no land in hand, and then miss hitting a land in your top 3. Chances are if you play this in the same scenario you won't be able to cast both spells you hit unless you hit 2 0-1 mana spells, and the argument of you could then draw a land the next turn doesn't work, as you'd have hit that land in the first place if you were just casting Expressive Iteration.

Expressive Iteration forces you to play the exiled card on that turn; Reckless Impulse gives you until the end of your next turn. Depending on the situation, one may be better than the other but neither one is going to be strictly better in every circumstance.

Which is what I said. You choose which one you put into exile immediately to play, so you're always going to choose one that you can play and fits the circumstances. Outside of getting extremely unlucky Expressive Iteration is always going to better in any deck that can cast it as seeing 3 cards vs 2 is huge. You aren't going to choose to play 1 card over another on the basis of scenarios in the 10% of time it's better than the other, you're just going to choose the one that is better the majority of time, and Expressive Iteration is better the overwhelming majority of the time.

That's actually pretty useful since you can play the exiled cards until the end of your next turn.

Oh yeah, it's going to be better than Expressive Iteration in many situations, it doesn't dig as deep but you have more chance to play both of the exiled cards than playing the card you exiled with Iteration, I can definitely see this being played if Mono-R becomes good again, it's similar to Light up the Stage and that card saw lots of play, sure, it's not as good if you're on the offensive, but less painful to cast if you're on the back foot so it kinda evens out.

Sorry, but this isn't close to being true. If played early Expressive Iteration is nearly always being used to exile a land you play immediately, later the mana isn't a problem. Expressive Iteration like this card isn't actually meant to be played T2, it's a T3 and beyond card, and Expressive Iteration is nearly always better, digging a card deeper, not having a time restriction on when you have to play one of the cards.

This won't be replacing Expressive Iteration in anything, it's a fine card, but suffers from Expressive Iteration being better, meaning this will only be played in decks not also playing blue. It's only going to be a Standard role player if the right archetype emerges for that reason.

Methinks Modern may want to use this to turn 4 an Eldrazi Titan or something equally huge. Maybe not a Tier deck but it seems possible.

Problem is there are already better ways to do this than a 4 mana 2/2 that needs to survive a turn to do it. Indomitable Creativity does this immediately for 4 mana, things like Through the Breach are better than this too.

It is pretty much just a better Elvish Piper, yes Elvish Piper only costs 1 to activate, but that is hardly ever going to be relevant.

thats a nice rare and i like that fact alot. i think they could have made him mythic and he would still feel mythic.

He's way too basic to be Mythic. Mythic's are meant to be complex cards that feel Mythic. This doesn't, the front side is as basic as they come with a transform ability that is still fairly basic.

These both look excellent in Limited. The second especially looks a huge beating with what white normally does in Limited, it's either going to force through a load of damage, or force your opponent into some bad blocks.
