A New and Exciting Beginning

The End of an Era

My sister just started the game, and I was thinking ahead to Christmas. Back when I started playing, things like Tournament Packs were a thing, and it was in general somewhat easier to cheaply build a collection. She's got a Planeswalker deck, a handful of cheap singles, and little disposable income, so I was thinking of a way to help her get a real collection started.

I know she likes Bant. She hates the theme of Black, and has never expressed an interest in Red. Therefore, the idea is as follows:

Six "Bant packs": Open two M19 boosters, swap all the Black and Red out of one with a White, Blue,, Green, or colorless card of the same rarity from the other pack. Repeat six times. Practical effect is giving her a semi-random collection of cards, keeping her limited to the colors she'll play, and potentially giving her duplicates of key cards she may need for her first custom deck.

Four sealed M19 Boosters: Include to give her some choice over what she's trading for. If she wants a particular card, she can trade me something she has no use for in exchange for it.

One copy of Arcades: The Strategist. Bant-color Elder Dragon. If she has an interest in walls, she can potentially do something with him, otherwise Dragons tend to excite newer players.

Bant Land pack: 20 Plains, 20 Islands, 20 Forests.

One pack of Ultra-Pro Eclipse sleeves. I'd go Dragon Shield, but she doesn't like how big those tend to make the decks.

One Ultra-Pro 100+ Deckbox: Large enough for whatever she winds up doing. A cheap beginner's deckbox that isn't as likely to fall apart as a velcro-secured deckbox.

The box from a Deckbuilder's Toolkit. To hold everything else. BCW is cheap, but I already have one of these.

Her favorite spindown from my collection.

    Thoughts?
