It's perfectly fine for [medieval Europe] to be populated with dark-skinned people, but no one questions why [ancient Egypt] or [medieval Japan] are devoid of Caucasian natives.
speaking of double standards - I've edited your "argument," applying the filter of your own wish that Wizards' fantasy worlds should stick to their source material/inspiration more. hope this helps.
who am I kidding, you're beyond help.
As you can probably see from my above comment, I am not sympathetic to the position they presented but I prefer them not being able to use this misunderstanding as ammunition, either: It appears the point they were making was about (supposed) hypocrisy rather than a demand that Caucasians get inserted into those contexts. Basically, that whichever standard gets used should be applied to all demographics in all settings instead of some demographics getting 'special treatment'. However, as pointed out above, the premise that people of colour are getting special treatment is mistaken since Europe and Africa have highly intertwined history and thus far, all examples of such supposed 'insertions' have been about dark-skinned people in settings using European history as inspiration.
this is exactly what I mean to convey in my post, albeit using fewer words and more sarcasm. the only hypocritical party in this exchange is Bhogal83.

I absolutely love this card. Easy replacement for Hero's Downfall where I run that. The life loss is negligible for the added value and self-recursion.
Now, I can't recall, have they addressed how Adventures work outside of the hand/field? Can I mystical tutor for one for instance? Or if one is in my yard (obviously not here), can I Snapcaster it?
an Adventure is a creature card everywhere except on the stack if you play the instant/sorcery part.
if this is real, Jeskai Hero may become a real big player post rotation. HoP1 and Swiftblade Vindicator as workhorse 2-drops, this and Baby Teferi on 3 -- sounds like a very solid core to build around.
I honestly don't think this is in any way better than Adversary of Tyrants. against aggro, you'll never come close to 35 life and the tokens won't matter much, especially as a -2 ability. against control, you p. much only have one and a half relevant ability (the +1 does grow the tokens) while Adversary can recur threats, pump them and singlehandedly win the game if you manage to ult.
can see this maybe in a midrange deck sporting the explore package (for the short while it will still be legal) as an I-WIN button against other midrange builds but apart from that, I'm having a hard time finding this kitten a home.
to everyone complaining about the toughness of this creature and that it can get bolted, ask yourselves how often you see lightning bolt or other similar burn spells in commander? This is clearly a commander card, hence why they gave it to the Command zone to spoil. If you are gonna play it in Modern and stuff like that, sure, give him shroud or hexproof because he is gonna be an instant removal target.
ok now hear me out -- play this then MOX AMBER, boom! you have two mana up for a counterspell!
so even if this fella doesn't survive the turn after you drop him, he's at the very least a boardwide buff and a removal spell in one three-mana card. I can think of worse packages.

they look like expressionless zombies in it. much prefer the regular version.

Elvish Fury is probably the most obvious one
