This still works with new Lavinia. Even if your opponents gos to cast a spell on your turn with CMC equal to the spell their casting they need and extra 1. Forcing your opponents to have to only do things on their turn while being able to still do things on their turn is a big tempo advantage.
On another note, with Afterlife being a mechanic expect a reprint of Phantom General in the set.
I mean the second ability of the new Lavinia is negated, since Tithe Taker forces the player to pay 1 mana for a 0 mana spell. This is important because it also means Lavinia cannot stop suspend spells.
New Lavania still works, this only adds the additional cost on your turn not on your opponents turn.
The set seems ok at first glance but I think some of the csrds are deceptively powerful.
Nothing really jumped out as a standard all-star except the new GB removal and maybe the toned down Rablemaster?
I honestly think Boros might have the best chances.... Tajic, Aurelia, Lyra, the three drop angel, etc....
I do have a problem with the guild mechanics being sparse in general or wasted on subpar cards.... From first glance we didn't get many playable cards that utilize those mechanics? But like I said, I think some will break out during the upcoming weeks....
Does this make BG Rock a deck again in modern? Help push Jund in the top tabkes again? It had a problem with walkers if you didn't rip them out of your opponents hand....
Plus it now has more in the main to fight Tron decks? This card is exciting, I'm hoping the power level of this set rivals RTR....

I'm guessing she will be better turn 6-8, when you have stuff that you don't necessarily need on the board? So you can speed into her ultimate?
