The Elder Spell didn't work for the last planeswalker that tried it, so thinking it would work for him is a study in arrogance and narcissism.

Is this in the book? I haven’t seen anything about the Elder Spell accept it gives you sparks somehow

Well I was right about them wanting to surprise people with Tezzeret at least. His betrayal of Bolas remains to be seen lol

The music was also super cringe.

Am I out of the loop here? Does the Internet just hate Linkin Park? I think the theme of the song ties pretty well with Lili's story overall and the moment depicted in the trailer.

Or maybe I'm just out of touch because Hybrid Theory was my ******* middle school jam.

    Tezzeret, Mastermind.

The memory lock Jace placed on Vraska is sprung. She makes her moves against Bolas and fails. Tezzeret finally gets the revenge on Bolas he’s been plotting since Test of Metal by sabotaging whatever plan Bolas has made to absorb all the sparks. Everyone keeps talking about how Tezzeret would be on Bolas’s side but he hates the dragon with a passion, and is patient and intelligent enough to pull it off.

I think Wizards intentionally left him out of the stainglass images so people wouldn’t expect this.

Cool idea. Belongs in Commander 2020 Smile

t, Tap X untapped Artificers you control: Search library for artifact...

Yeah, making it a tap for him would slow it down a bit in addition to the X cannot be 0 stipulation.

Someone also suggested making it artifact in hand and not search library, which would play better with scry

Your first two points I've addressed in other posts, but story wise when Urza was Chief Artificer of Kroog he had an entire workshop of apprentices working under him, as we see when Tawnos makes his debut into the story. He was a loner yes, but he didn't hesitate to use the knowledge of his apprentices to get work done(tap artificers to make a new artifact happen) and each new tool gave him even more ideas (Draw card when artifact enters play)
That's true. I can sorta see the design being in-character. But this is also the guy who married a woman not because he was interested in her at all, but to get a Thran book for himself to read. :p

It's really the white that's throwing me, I think. Drop the white mana, change the costs, and do the other housekeeping edits and I think this is a great card.

While I appreciate the feedback I do disagree with him not being white. A great number of his designs were made from a defensive or civic perspective (Urza's Avenger, healing amulet) and a number of white artificers have abilities based around artifacts ETB. The closest one I can think of would be

I'd drop the scry as it does indeed clash with all the shuffling. Or you could keep it if you changed the search to a cascade-type ability (revealing cards off the top of your library). If I did keep it I'd fold it all into one ability: "Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield, scry 2, then draw a card."

The activated ability as written is completely broken and needs an "X can't be zero" clause (Also it's "Tap X untapped SOMETHINGs you control"). And probably a mana cost as well as the tapping cost, tbh.

I'm not sure how much this feels like Urza specifically (he was more of a loner, at least after he was done studying with Tocasia, whereas this card requires you to have a bunch of Artificers), or where the white comes in the design.

As for color II based him off of Mishra, where they have a lot of similarities but one enemy color, (Mishra was selfish, Urza was protective)

The activated ability is nice enough, but it kinda clashes with the scry effect. It definitely seems like it would need a clause specifying that X can't be 0.

I also think repeatably tutoring for cheap artifacts to get the card draw is just too efficient a way to use the card and detracts from other options.

How about putting the artifacts onto the battlefield from hand rather than from the library?

That could make a better balance.

The first two abilities can probably be combined into.

"Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield, Scry 2, then draw a card."The first two abilities deal with Artificers and Artifacts respectively, so two abilities. I agree about the X cannot be zero, I just forgot to update it before posting.

I wanted to make an artificer tribal commander. This version of Urza would be before the Brother's War broke out. I took his P/T and colors from Mishra, Artificer Prodigy seeing as while they were humans they were incredibly similar but with enmity between them.

Some interesting stuff you've got here already. But I am looking forward to seeing more cards from the set.
I'd like to see more magical, fantasy elements. Right now, there's a lot of seemingly mundane, real-world stuff, which seems out of place in a non-Un set.

What kind of world/plane produces these nuclear technologies? Will we see scientists, engineers, mutated humanoids? Nuclear-powered Vehicles?

As for the cards' functionality, they're mostly fine. I'd eventually want to see some of the non-radioactive creatures. If the set were only radioactive/fissile critters, limited would be a headache.

Maybe there should be some kind of 'Lead Shielding' artifact/spell/ability that gives protection from Radioactive, or at least stops the -1/-1 counters.

Edit: I just saw you updated the wording on Critical Mass. That will work better. Much better than the original wording.

Wish granted! So the background of the plane is that it successfuly fought off a phyrexian invasion, but the radioactive technology they developed twisted the plane, magic and all to be unstable and potentially harmful.
Im glad you brought up the radioactive protection because I made a legendary creature that removes radioactive and critical mass while on the field and im thinking of equipment/auras that will do it on an individual creature/player basis as well. There will be a decent amount of artifacts/artificers of multiple races, mutant creature etc. Please give me any feedback as I am really new at designing cards!

I like the theme overall, some nuclear things can always be fun.

    Some comments:

Fissile will not fission all the permanents with fissile. If you have 2 permanents with fissile 2 then after one has fissioned the if clause will stop the other from fissioning. Is that intended? It is also a bit unclear what the 2 in fissile refers two. the number of tokens they create or the number of permanents needed to trigger it.

This was pointed out to me shortly after I posted these ideas on the custom magic subreddit. The newer Core Crab and Transuranic Ooze does represent I want how Fissile to function going forward. Basically they "split" when targeted and cause a secondary effect.

I like the radioactive goblin. But IMO it doesn't pair well with haste since it is an ability that favours blocking since you won't lose life that way and because it deals 1 damage and one "wither" to creatures.

The unstable reactor won't do anything when it transorms since it doesn't enter the battlefield. You should reword it to when it transforms.

I've updated Critical mass to read "If X or more permanents with radioactive are on the battlefield exile this permanent and return to the battlefield transformed."
    [/quote]

Is the core crab the new version of fissile? I did like the idea of splitting it in two but doubling the etb works aswell. The ability should probably be reworded a bit. Perhaps with a "When you do" at the beginning of the seond sentence.
The original version was a little problematic, so I switch to having the trigger just be getting targetted. I'll clean up the language a little.

The mox is very strong but hey, it's a mox. This version of radioactive still basically deals double damage to creatures, is that intended or were you aiming for more of a "wither" effect?

More of a wither effect, but "wither light" in that they only deal the one counter. I wanted to kind of mimic a permanent damage that radiation would cause after exposure. I'm not 100% on how to balance the mox a little better, maybe it only produces colors of permanents with radioactive?

I greatly appreciate the feedback. I will update periodically as I add cards/tweak mechanics.

Edit: Am I allowed to link the imgur album where I have the set ongoing? I have a few more cards in the set but didn't want to spam them over and over
