However, I was wondering about a question regarding aggro! I'm cutting my cube size down from 540 to 360, and I enjoy having a healthy Aggro package, so I was wondering if there was a minimum for how many 1 drop aggro dudes that you would suggest at that size?
has anyone gotten any testing in with this one? I happened to acquire one the other day and feel like it might actually draw a card or two, especially in white or red recks, or even better with stuff like izzet artifact tokens
The domri comparison is close, but he also asks you to be in RG, where this can be added to something like, a Wb tokens or even a mono blue meloku list. Domri does give you access to potential removal and his anthem isn't color specific, but my go wide decks tend to have a lot of the same colored creatures anyways (especially token lists). I think what I like about this the most is that it can be added into non red lists.
With that, I still don't think it's quite there for traditionally powerful cubes, but I think it's closer than it appears. The abilities are a little mish-mashed, anthem for a single color but allowing you to splash other colors, but this could easily be ramp for a mono colored deck with upside.
While I agree that I wish my green 5s had power, I am fine that its actually 2 power and not something like 3 or 4 power, so it can still go in lark/alesha shells.
I feel that while its only got 2 power, it may actually push more damage through becuase of the Bow of Nylea passive, and giving green more card advantage never hurts. I like the idea of forcing my opponent to choose between trading my squirrel and their 3 or 4 drop OR letting me draw more cards.
We have a few green token builds that pop up over here, so that might be guiding my opinions of this card, but right now in feeling warm about it
Ya know, I have Venser, the Sojourner in foil and I dont have a foil Teferi, Hero of Dominaria... I could just re add venser and save myself some cash until Teferi rotates out and costs less lol. I could see going heavy into blink again for Azorius, and now that we have full talismans I would feel slightly better about giving the ol Eldrazi Displacer a whirl. Could be fun with this card
Edit- I forgot to talk about the card and just started brewing instead.
I really like this card, even without all that other stuff I mentioned. One of my favorite parts about it is that it actively tries to promote active play by giving you something to do with your cards in scenarios where you might be locked out by things like, opposition (sure, they can just tap the dude I manifest out, but at least I got to put it out there while they tap away my mana during my upkeep), and can help get around counterplay significantly. It also gives you something to do if you end up flooded. I like that it wants me to do stuff each turn
I personally want to run it along side blink and think it will be a fun addition to the cube environment.
This card is a 2/4 with a rummage ability on attack that deals damage to opponents, can make your wheel effects deal damage, and works with a high number of discard effects within red and discard effects used against you. While it's power is a little low for creature combat, the 4 toughness will help it get through most early creature plays.
I imagine it will play like a small Hazoret the Fervent, (and plays well with hazoret) except it will deal its damage any time you discard rather than hazoret who only deals it with the activation.
The problem this card really faces is that red threes are so good... however, I feel it could be a great substitute if you wanted variety from all of the token dropping three drops we currently run.

I feel it's best suited in aggro while up against decks that feature a lot of wipes, giving you "something to do"

Yup! "Magic Find" picked up MTGS, so unless they ruin it, we are good to go!

ah yes, I too wish I had a hastey creature with the attack trigger "Kill each opponent as long as my library is more than their life total."
