I think you should run more lands. But that’s just me. Here’s my list I’ve been working on for 7ish years. Lot of staples and some cool ones too.

I was hyped for last years. (I bought 3 of the 4 for myself) This one I am not. I may pick up one or two tops. Its a letdown.

Facepalm If you feel that a product is a let-down, why buy "one or two" anyway? That's not how you make your feelings known to a company. They can't read your minds, and likely won't see or care about your criticisms on some web forum. The only thing they understand is the bottom line, sales. If people buy a (theoretically) crap product, all they see is the money coming in regardless. If you feel a product is not worth the money, then don't buy it. That is the only sure-fire way to voice your criticism.

That is why I said one or two instead of three. I will be voicing my opinion with my wallet if I buy less. Did you not read what I wrote? Reading comprehension much?

Its why I didn't spend a dime on Battlebond. I felt it sucked and voiced that with my wallet. Ask before you attack please.

But willing to buy 50% of the product line is showing with your wallet that it is NOT a total let down.

You are using strong word choices that are inconsistent with your intent for spending.

Maybe you should not be so confrontational?

    1) there's almost no real use to Painter's Servant other than degenerate combo. It's pointless in a fair deck.

    2) 2-card combo that costs 2-3 mana each. What does Teferi/Knowledge Pool(costing 5-6 mana each) have to do with this? You may as well say it's no stronger than Omniscience/Enter the Infinite

Do I really need to go on?

Your tone is very matter of fact. I agree with op. I don’t think painted combos are any more degenerate then other 2 card combos. The social contract exists to put a soft ban on combos. Why not let people play with their color matters cards with painter?
I’m not even sure if you made it denegerate it would be any better then stuff like Teferi planeswalker stax. Or tasigur flash hulk.

The damn promos where about the only reason I went for fnm. Good way to kill attendance at fnm.

so now that there will be more and more diverse promos you don't go anymore?

Yea. But these probably won’t be “free”. It’s ok. Communities don’t need that kind of participant.

My guess is we will get walkers that replace the token card, they will mostly be reprints of past walkers and not be legal in standard. Similar to the hidden treasures. But I think it's unlikely they are going to be able to power check 36 new walkers in standard for one set.

Maro stated on his blog that the 36 stained glass walkers were all new cards. No reprints.

I would not get cabal coffers. It’s a little narrow.
    I would get
    Mana crypt
    Mana vault
    Grim monolith
These go in litterally any commander deck and make the deck better. No matter what the theme is. Unless the theme is don’t play good cards.

i would like to see some sliver love in the set.
    as for reprints:

Dark Ritual way to strong i suppose
    Cabal Ritual
    Hymn to Tourach
    Sinkhole
    Encroach
    innocent blood

1-mana and 2-mana land destruction? Seriously? Just imagine how "fun" it'll be when you get hit by T1 Encroach, T2 Sinkhole and then T3 Lili or Stone Rain. That's exactly the kind of hardcore mana denial WOTC doesn't want to see around with good reason.

There is a vocal minority that wants land destruction back at 3 cmc.

Everyone likes different aspects of the game.
That said. I hope they leave two mana land destruction in legacy.

Perfect set for a Hero's Downfall reprint at uncommon. Drive the price down, save limited, hardly any more impact in a set rammed with PW focus than Murder would be for those "too powerful as an uncommon" folks.

It's a three dollar card, does the price really need to be driven down?

obviously, its not completely worthless yet.

    Just as the title asks.

Please move to the proper forum if this is not it.

Sol Ring is amazing, don't get me wrong, but if there are enough other rocks, then I think sol ring is okay. We are talking about 1 card in the entire cube, which you may not even see in a given draft, which goes into a players deck, and is 1 card of 40 that they may not even see. Sol ring on turn 1 is great, sol ring on turn 5 is good.

As long as there is other ramp options to be had, I think the ring is okay.

As for cards that only belong in "powered cubes," I think that is up to each cube designer. I don't like mind twist, because it makes for non-games (The only answer is to have counter magic), whereas a turn 2 channel (this is generally the fastest you can channel in my cube) into a giant creature can be met with swords to plowshares, go for the throat, path to exile, even disenchant and counterspell, so the thing is still busted if it happens, but it is also possible to answer. I feel the same way about Tinker I do with channel.

I have never played Library of Alexandria in my cube before, but the more busted lands you play, the more you have to have strip mine, wasteland, ghost quarter, etc. to help balance it out.

I will say I don't run storm payoff cards like grapeshot and tendrils of agony, but this is more because storm is less viable in an unpowered cube.

You don’t like mind twist cause it makes for non games? Doesn’t soo ring make for non games too? Neither of them do anything by themselves. Twist needs fast mana to make a non game. Soo ring has to just begin play turns 1 or 2. I think soo ring is far too degenerate to play in an unpowered cube. It’s the best card in any go in cube.

You just need to keep things balanced, and provide answers to your players who don't end up with busted cards.

Why do i keep seeing the number 36? why do people think there will be 36 walkers?

There are 36 pieces of art in the trailer that have been confirmed to be in the set.

However, it has not been confirmed that they will be used on planeswalkers, nor has it been confirmed that there is a planeswalker per pack.

Also, MaRo says "never" all the time. Ask him if Onslaught fetchlands will ever be in Standard, for instance. Or if the Reserved List will ever go away.

    ah ha thanks!
