So no, planeswalkers can not tap lands, becuase in the story lands do not tap. Its like asking if a DnD character can roll a nat20. We roll the dice, they don't.
I played a UG standard deck in theros block that ramped and used thassa's ire to tap down the opponents creatures. The only win con was a 5 piece infinite mana combo with hydra broodmother. But now I play necrotic ooze in modern so basically i just feel bad for whoever I beat
Were there only two Shattergang Brothers? The P/T and abilities made me think there were at least three.
Originally there were three, Rakkig Gardagig and Dargig, but Dargig was killed by Krenko.
Dargig was the bomb expert in the trio, so maybe if the bros get a new card with just two Rakkig and Gardagig, it will have two abilities instead of the three on the original card.
Hmm, a monored 2/2 Goblin Artificer with a B ability and a G ability?
Would Simic removal be closer to something that artificially ties life forces together? Like a card that destroys target creature when target creature you control dies this turn?
I always think that reincarnation is a very simic card, even though it is probably closer to golgari or something that cares about life and death. I figured that simic removal would be something more sciency and bio-engineering than fighting creatures together.

Good question though. It took me years to figure this out.
Maybe the brothers would have one ability with hybrid mana, like Tasigur, the Golden Fang?
Anything that exiles The Scorpion God from the graveyard will stop it's ability.

First of all, for protection, Prognostic Sphinx is really good for hexproof with no mana up.
Doom Whisperer is great to just dump cards into the graveyard for life.
Grim poppet and Cinderhaze Wretch allow you to machine all of your opponents creatures.
Pack Rat is also great protection. This only works with the actual necrotic ooze tho because the copy would be lengendary from Lazav's ability.
I am sure there are many more creatures that work, but these are the main ones I have used.
The two Kari zev, skyship raiders will be fine since the token is not legendary.

Right now, I am trying out Shattergang bros reanimation with necrotic ooze and protean hulk.
