MTG Salvation

I've been working on this deck for a few months now http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/life-as-a-weapon/ and I feel like I've gotten it to a pretty good place. The idea was to make a deck that can gain a boat load of life and then use that life to either take out opponents directly or put big creatures out and lots of creatures out. It's a little high on the cmc cost but unless everyone is targeting you every turn, you can stand to take a few hits before the big life gainers come out and you can start using your own life to wipe people out. I'd love to get some opinions on it as to what I could put it to protect my creatures and just for some more overall control. Black can be a nightmare for this deck and super red aggro can be way too fast to keep up with. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
