Other cards could have been designed much like the Aethermage.
When you look at it, this [Insert Type Here] cycling could be quite good as it could be synergystic to Tribal cards.

Well, I'm planning to make a Jace Milling deck as well.
I'm planning to use Locket of Yesterdays and Clockspinning. (Does this combo sound familiar?) To put X Loyalty counters on Jace where X = no. of U. Then mill, mill, and mill some more.:D
okay fine. you got me. let me add something to it then. in limited (constructed too, just won't see play as it's notTHAT great) hunter of eyeblights + any of the reinforce spells = kill any opponents creature for 2B
Well, not really 2B. You still have to pay for the Reinforce Cost. The cheapest would probably be 3BW.
My choice would be that these double rare "phenomenon" is quite normal and does happen. I have read in several other threads in this site that they've opened boxes, even in Lorwyn, that came out with doubles (even triple Garruks:D).
As we are talking of combos, here's one i've concocted:
Maralen + Beacon of Immortality
It's not much of a killer combo but it sure is pretty interesting. Needs a high mana curve though.
It could then be a W/B Deck which utilizes Enduring Renewal to negate removal also Aven Mindcensor:D. You could also use the Rogue Equipment on Maralen for Shroud. It's not tournament caliber, maybe for FNMs...:D

Well that combo should have included Nath's Elite, Lure, or any other attack/block enabler(forcer?).
