The downside to revoker is that besides being hit by detention sphere and cryptics, just like needle, it also gets hit by Path, Terminus, Teferi, Oust and Jace itself if you didn't name it.
I personally think it's too much of a downside to even be considered an inclusion, at least in my deck.
Also against kci and ad nauseam you're better off with Unravel the Aether against them, since shuffling the card on the deck makes it harder for kci to get it back. It also gets rid of phyrexian unlife as a plus.

As far as I tested Experiment One seems to please players who prefer resiliency over power, and Pelt Collector pleases players who prefer power over resiliency.
I vote that this is a vines/blossoming situation.

Hi, I've been playing with the deck for some time now and this weekend I'll be going to my lgs's fnm and I was wondering, is damping sphere really a good sb card? I may be wrong but I've been trying it on other decks in modern and they seem to do little to no damage to tron. I even had and episode where I played two blood moons and two damping sphere and tron managed to answer them one by one and then win with O. Stones destroying my board and ugin activations (take into consideration that I wasn't just playing these cards and hoping that they would win me the game, I was applying pressure and using my mana efficiently).
What is the advantage of playing damping sphere? Because I see that almost everyone who posts here have at least one in their sb. Is it because tron usually don't bring artifact hate against us? Is it because it gives us enough time to kill them? Could it cause us more harm than good? Since playing a creature and pumping an attacker now costs more mana now?
I'm just curious to know the reasoning behind your thought process in choosing this card and how it performs.
    Thanks in advance.

I've been having some problems with 23 so currently I feel that 24 should be ok.
Regarding scavenger grounds, I'm running three relics and one grafdigger's cage in my sideboard (that I will be changing to rest in peace as soon as I finish building the deck) so wouldn't it be better running something else? If I don't need that extra land to be colorless even Bojuka Bog looks like a better option since I can flicker it with flickerwisp and if needs to be more land destruction doesn't seem to do us any harm.
Anyways, are there other good options for the mono white build on that last slot?

Hi, I'm currently building a budget mono White eldrazi and taxes list so that I can start playing with the archetype, and considering I'm not using vials and that I'm running 24 lands, the current land base has 10 basics, 9 plains and 1 wastes, should I be worrying about having that wastes in case of field of ruin/blood moon or I'm better off running another tectonic edge?
The only eldrazis I'm currently using are 4 thought-knot seer and 4 eldrazi displacer.

I've been testing this deck on xmage and have been getting good results with it, it's basically an aggro deck that can play the long game a little bit due to the draw power of bomat courier and flame of keld.
Using the 5-0 list as a base I traded the insult//injury for one lavamancer and two smuggler's copter for two abrades and the deck seems fine to me. Definetely FNM playable.

I do agree that the deck is good and has many good points going for it, I even read all your posts on the skred thread about your spreadsheets and gave a good look at them aswell. The only thing is that it's just not the deck for me.

I have everything except for the expensive pieces (chandra, blood moon, shattering spree, etc) and I need to finish buying the snow-covered mountains. The problem I found in Skred is the lack of countermagic, making it imo a slightly worse control deck than the other ones. And when in lack of countermagic I prefer a style similar to death and taxes or jund, where I have at least some sort of control of what spells resolves due to disruption.

Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a good read.

Both esper and izzet run more snapcasters and cryptics than uw control, and esper also runs a full playset of colonnade. Wouldn't it make these decks as expensive as uw control?

Hi, I have already posted here about what deck I wanted to play but I was unhappy with the choices I made and with modern as a whole. Only when I noticed that there's no true correct way to play the format is that I finally noticed what I was doing wrong and what should be matured in order to seek a new opinion, so here's the info.

    Cards you already own
I have Skred Red almost complete and Mono Green Stompy complete, other than that I have relics, mana leaks, serum visions, opt, lightning bolts, logic knots, dispels, disdainful strokes, abrades, young pyromancers and other cheap format staples (mostly in red and blue colors). I have no fetches or shocks.

    Colors you like to play
In commander I'm most comfortable playing with black/green due to the amount of removal and recursion in those colors. But in modern I tend to prefer blue with black, white or red, just so that I can have access to good removal spells.

    Styles you like to play
I'm mostly a control player, prefering the draw-go style but I also enjoy playing with prison aspects. Besides control my second favorite playstyle is midrange and tempo as close third. I tend to enjoy the more draw-go style regardless of the deck I'm playing and I usually tend to valorize lands a lot, so I end up always wanting to hit my land drops, even if I'm playing aggro (which is my worst style so far). The style that I dislike the most is combo due to how vulnerable I feel towards my enemy interaction spells.
In pauper my go to deck is Dimir Alchemy, which to me feels like a draw-go control deck with a weak late game due to the lack of planeswalkers or other big finishers that control has access to in other formats. This is basically what I'm seeking for my modern deck, because playing that style just feels natural to me and I already have quite some practice with this style.
Besides the counter spell aspect of blue I also enjoy boardwipes, they give some security against aggro matchups.

Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (casual, fnm, ptq)
FNM level is enough for me.

    Budget you have
I was looking for something towards the $400-$600 budget, some people already told me that UW Control should fit like a glove to me, but it's just too expensive for just fnm level of play.

FNM level is enough for me, so decks that are tier 1 or on the more expensive side ($900+ to me) feel like a way big investment just for fnm play.

Well I do have a lot of elves on my meta as well as some control, in which case I usually can use ratchet bomb to destroy a non-flipped search for azcanta, detention sphere and once I even managed to snag a gideon of the trials.
While I do admit it's not ideal in a couple matches I do find that it helps against things like mardu pyromancer and jund.
And since I have 4 free slots on my 75, off of which I use the 2 Ratchet bombs and the 2 dismember I wonder if it's possible to interchange things a little bit. Because there are merfolk players in my meta and ratchet can awkwardly kill master of waves but dismember is my choice post side. I find dismember to be essential to a lot of things, but I surely do think it's a terrible MB card because the interaction with aggro is terrible.
With that being said, what are the usual MB removal that takes the place of my ratchet bombs?

Do you think that MB Ratchet Bombs are basically a "wrong move" or is it still accepted as a possible MB free slot card?

Hi, I've beem looking at Skred for quite some time as a budget deck to build in order to play at FNM, while still being competitive in the long run. So far I've been torn apart between this and Martyr Proc, I'm the kind of the person who only has fun when the opponent is not having fun and in order to discover which deck is the best I've decided to give my decklist a go here since this was the first deck that came into mind when I started researching for this purpose. In order to learn more about the deck I'd like some constructive critics about it and what could I use to improve it, while still not dedtroying the budget since I don't have that much money to spend.

So far the deck seems to have a fair ground against anything that it faces, excluding the obvious Tron matchup, but with the 6 land hate effects (Moon and sphere) I managed to get a couple wins here and there. As far as consistency goes the decks is working fine. Now to the unusual picks: Ratchet Bomb, Dismember and Dragon's Claw.

Ratchet Bomb has saved me in many games as a way to kill death shadows, destroy very annoying enchantments, save me against mardu pyromancer as copies 4 and 5 of anger during game 1, destroying chalices and usually functions as a boardwipe against some decks (specially those with Aether Vial) who tends to have many creatures of the same cmc. All that made it own its slot on my main deck.

Dismember comes in usually as copies 9-10 of spot removal or against decks with tarmogoyf, reality smasher (big beaters in general) or Master of Waves. The instant speed helps and the life loss usually doesn't bothers me. The problem is that in matchups where, for example, anger and relic are not a good card I end up bringing in one copy of Dismember or Dragon's Claw just to fill in the slot.

Dragon's Claw is here mainly to help against aggro matchups that uses red or decks where I know that I can grind the opponent down they come usually as a two off to help me mitigate the life loss.

I hope it's not too much text to the point that it gets tedious but these are my thoughts about the deck and my choices, now I'd like to know how could I improve my decklist, mainly about the issue with the dismember/dragon's claw and if possible about taking cards off and putting cards in, adding or removing more copies of a card, etc.

    Thanks in advance.
