With Core set 19 coming out soon, I'm trying to figure out how to implement it into my Mono-Red deck, as some of the cards in it will rotate out soon. I have a few ideas, but I have no idea if they are good or not. Thanks in advance for reading!
If I keep everything else the same, I would only lose 4 Bomat Courier and 2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance from my deck. Although any suggestions to the deck itself would be appreciated.
I don't know if these are good ideas or not, but here they are:
-I'm thinking of changing out Glorybringer for Demanding Dragon, as Demanding Dragon is a 5/5 and forces your opponent to sacrifice a creature or take 5 damage.
-I definitely want to put Guttersnipe in the deck as I normally play instants, so the extra 2 damage from each instant could be a game winner.
-Maybe 2 Lightning Mares in my sideboard, as it would be a decent counter to blue decks, as they wouldn't be able to block it.
-Replace Chandra, Torch of Defiance with Sarkhan, Fireblood. He costs 1 less mana, and his +1 ability is helpful if I need a new card. Even though his second ability would be next to useless for my deck, I think the utility he offers is good. I also like his -7, which would definitely punish my opponent if they didn't do anything to him.
-Put in 3 or 4 copies of Smelt. For one mana, destroying an artifact is a great deal. It would definitely be a great counter to Aethersphere Harvester and Artifact Creatures.
-Have 1 or 2 copies of Diamond Mare or Fountain of Renewal, as they would give you a lot of extra life for a low mana cost.
