We might also go to Theros because they are going to bring Gideon armor to it so they might find another plot going on (maybe this will be core 2020 story?)
I'm wanting to buy the book; does the end of the book give any hints on where the story goes from here or is that up in the air?
'buster
It is pretty clear where one arc will go, specially now that we know the tittle of the following book "War of the spark: forsaken", quite obvious what is going to be about after the end of nicol bolas.
how do we beat amulet or is it like tron. autoloss
Well it depends a lot on your draw, if you get discard spells on the play and get the amulet and then some of the enablers they are going to have a hard time, after sideabord bringing lost legacy or runed halo (naming titan or valakut) can make the game a win.
Unlike tron where every card they play is a bomb against us and so we can't answer all of them Amulet just has two cards to be concerned about: titan and valakut. Obviously a nut hand from them can kill us in turn 2 but also pretty much any other deck looses to them that way.
I think the main problem about Elder Spell is not the manacost. You have no reasons to cast it on turn 2 - there are no targets.
You can cast it to get rid of other walkers and pump your walker to the level of ultimate which usually wins you the game - in this case, casting other things on the same turn doesn't really matter.
That's why the mana cost doesn't matter much I guess. That's how I see it. The spell is powerful in the right environment but that's all. Maybe it being cheap also helps your opponents to counter it with cheaper counterspells - but in the other hand, taxing counterspells would do poor job at countering it. So-so.
Of course it matters because you can have mana for protecting it with counterspells. ALso control matchups is where this thing is going to be played more.
But this is act 3, we don't know if there is act4, so it could very well be end of the battle on the ground when they defeat the army and take down the statue but bolas is still up in his citadel. So this card is boosting the ravnica armies morale.
