I don't know if that's the right cut, although it might be. Tribunal is a primarily aggressive card, while O-Ring effects are super versatile but a little pricey, so for cuts I'd take out an aggressive slot like Glory-Bound Initiate or something like it.

Does anybody else have a good idea as to what to cut? Because I can't find a good cut, and what I was originally going to cut (Mana Tithe) I decided to swap out for Council's Judgment because of the advice on this forum for me to put it back in.

Ugh, this card is incredible, but cutting Finks is gonna hurt like a *****. Rest in peace sweet prince, there's no more -1/-1 counters where you're going...

I like the comparison, but I haven’t played magma jet in like 2 years. Surveil 2 isn’t even worth 1 full mana, not to mention on a UU card that does nothing on its own.

This looks awesome and is ridiculously pushed. This set is looking awesome for cube, and I can’t wait to try out this guy in particular.

Snapcaster is always at least a 1-for-1, and usually a 2-for-1. This card is usually a 1-for-1 and sometimes an 0-for-1 if you’re desperate. I don’t think this card is good, and the restricting UU cost makes it pretty bad imo.

I think this is the worst of the token producing red 3s, but on paper he still looks sweet. So if for whatever reason (power level, redundancy, space, etc) you want to cut/avoid one of them, it would probably be either this guy or Najeela, depending on how many cheap Warriors you have besides Najeela.

I didn’t realize that this triggered off of itself, so although I personally won’t test this card, I’ll be excited to hear what others have to say about it in a month or two.

Again, I'm certainly going to test this card, and by no means do I think it's bad, but I think many of you are forgetting how much of a cost this is to put into your decks. The only 2 scenarios where I MIGHT want this card in my deck are in red aggro and red midrange, and in the prior it is bad to mainboard.

If I'm playing red aggro, I don't want to play a 2 mana 2/2 because that's slow and represents substantially less damage than any other 1 and 2 drop I could be playing instead. Killing your opponent with efficient damage should be your first priority in aggro, and this card hardly adds to that initiative. Additionally, in the red aggro scenario users will hardly ever be using the damage ability as there are simply so few targets worth losing a creature over (that sounds absurd, but look through your lists and count up how many creatures come out before turn 4 that you would realistically want to shock. I can count that number on one hand), so the only especially common upside to this card over a Falkenrath Gorger is the artifact/Ugin destruction. This sounds like a sweet deal on paper, but is casting a manic vandal without the body really better in most of your matchups than getting an extra 2-6 damage on your opponent by turn 3 or 4? I don't think so at all, and although there will be games that you kill an Ugin or a Jitte, that is usually not worth the loss of 4 damage in all of your other matchups. Now, all of this is regarding RDW, and I guess this looks good in midrange as you'd happily take the versatility over some extra damage, but you guys are giving this card a lot more praise than it deserves for a weenie that can never generate anything beyond card parity.

Mostly just playing devil's advocate here, but these are real concerns I have with this card that make me think it won't make the cut for many who own smaller cubes who think it looks like a staple on paper. At 360 I'll happily test this over FTK or Manic Vandal, and in spite of all that I've said I do expect it to see play in medium sized cubes, but I can't say that I think this will stick in smaller cubes, and certainly not be a staple like some of you are claiming.

3 cmc shatter is not something I'm excited about, nor is a 3 cmc shock that can't go face. Baseline 2/2 is nice, so I'll certainly test this out, but you'd need to be very desperate to actually activate the cards abilities.

Deed is great when it works, but unfortunately that’s not nearly as much as this card works. Deed is a green card, and the best part about playing green is that the mana dorks are absolutely amazing. When you pop deed, your mana elves go with it, so for deed to excel you need to be playing a BG decks that doesn’t include too many creatures. That’s kinda tough.

Not to say that deed is bad because I currently run it because it is incredibly powerful, but it isn’t nearly as untouchable as you’re making it out to be. The card is good, but narrow. While this new card is super powerful and whatever the the polar opposite of narrow is.

I play Deathrite and Deed at 360 and this is better than both of them. This is going to be a really tough cut. Deathrite sees more mainboard play, but Deed is so unique. I guess I’ll probably cut Deed, but I’ll have to sleep on the decision.

For Council's Judgment, going through my list, all I can find are True-Name and Thrun, and I've been trying to cut Thrun for ages. I know some lists play Carnage Tyrant, but other than being susceptible to Reclamation Sage, Best within and Upheaval I don't think it has enough distinct advantages that merit the double white in its cost, which can be really rough in decks where white is a secondary or third color. NOt to say its bad, because it sees plenty of legacy play because of its powerlevel, but in a format that sometimes lacks enough fixing to get double colors by t4 or 5 it can be a big enough disadvantage to not include it imo.

Cards like this negate that issue in a unique and incredibly inexpensive way.

I've never used Taldaram, but I was always under the assumption with Taldaram that the main issue was the small body being easy to remove with cheap removal like burn? Or is the upside of spawning such huge creatures so quickly too much better to run this card?

I'm going to be honest, I'm not much of a fan of the double colored removal. I like when I can splash my removal in any decks with white. The only double colored removal I play in white is Unexpectedly Absent because it's an instant, and no removal over 3cmc. Everything else double colored or over 3 cmc just comes down too late in the game. This card gets around that issue, and can actually be cast for no colored mana at all.

Seeing Purph in action in Standard and EDH over the years, it often gets in for 8 or 10 damage in just 2 or 3 turns. That just seems really appealing to me, especially regarding the fact that a bunch of 3 drops can make tokens the exact turn Purph gets cast for instant burst.

At the end of the day, he also survives wraths and can turn into a 6/5 indestructible creature.
