    Hello to all,
I'm preparing a tournament and I have some questions:
    1) I had some good victories against Affinity. Normally playing Lingering Souls in G2.
But how is our deck versus this new version splashing green "Hardened Modular"? Any advice?

    2) What is our strategy in order to beat BantSpirits? is better to play Delay than Stubborn Denial? So, Delay must find slot in our SB?

3)I feel that the metagame in Modern is ruled by faster decks. So we need to choose the faster strategies.Isn't it? Could we play Midrange-style with this current meta?

4)Is Hex Parasite a good addition to our deck? (Good versus planeswalkers and good for faster suicide)? I'm thinking about to play with two in the SB that you can interchange by two Mishra's Bauble versus certain decks.

Hello, just to comment what I'm thinking about:
I'm triyng to play DSJund with only 3 colors (BGR) at less in Game 1 in order to be more explosive.
In G2, when you know what deck you have in front, you can select your splash White or Blue, if any.
In this way Sideboard is a bit weaker, I know. What's your opinion?

Hello, I'm considering to include one or two Ground Seal in the SB
I find Ground Seal can be good against KCI, Dredge, Reanimator... and it is also a good protection against Scavenging Ooze or even Surgical Extraction (it is terrible if the opponent surgical our DS or Tarmo).
The other possible modification is the mentioned 3rd Temur Battle Rage in the SB or in the main...
    What is your opinion?

I have seen that all the last lists are not including the white SB package (basically 3 of Lingering Souls and one Godless Shrine). Is the current meta the main reason to take it out? Is possible to keep it in the SB? Thank you.

I have corrected the Mardu / Dissintegrate errors in my post.
Thanks for your comments, you are right about the Leyline, so it's better to eliminate it and in this way we have the slot for the third LS.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH DELIRIUM SHADOWS AT PTQ BARCELONE

    INTRO
I arrived to Barcelone after a long and problematic intercontinental trip and went fast to the venue to play one Legacy and one Modern side events before closing.

I had register online for the next day PTQ and I had prepared a list and all cards to play a kind of Jund DS with U and SB W splashs, following your last advices. Thank you so much to whocansay and to Spooly
But... before unsleeve and re-sleeve I decided a last try testing a bit my horrible Mardu DS list versus Gift Storm, Jeskai Control and Grixis DS and after that I directly started to unsleeve it in the very same table. There was no point.

This is the decklist I register for PTQ:

    MY DECK
    18 LANDS
    3 Polluted Delta
    3 Bloodstained Mire
    4 Verdant Catacombs
    1 Wooded Foothills
    2 Overgrown Tomb
    1 Stomping Grounds
    1 Watery Grave
    1 Blood Crypt
    1 Forest
    1 Swamp

    13 CREATURES
    4 Street Wraith
    4 Tarmogoyf
    4 Death Shadow
    1 Grim Flayer

    29 SPELLS
    4 Toughtseize
    4 Inquisition of Kozilek
    4 Traverse the Ulvenwald
    4 Mishra Bouble
    2 Temur Battle Rage
    3 Fatal Push
    1 Tarfire
    2 Faithless Looting
    1 Abrupt Decay
    1 Lighting Bolt
    1 Dismember
    2 Stubborn Denial

    60 MAIN

    15 SIDEBOARD
    1 Golgary Charm
    2 Collective Brutality
    2 Pithing Needle
    1 Nihil Spellbomb
    1 Surgical Extraction
    1 Leyline of the Void
    1 Kozilek's Return
    2 Liliana of the Veil
    1 Godless Shrine
    2 Lingering Souls
    1 Hazoret the Fervent

    THE ROUNDS
The six PTQ rounds [it was my first high level (or Competitive Rules Enforcement Level) tournament]

Round 1 versus Affinity with Karn Scion of Urza I won 2-1 but they were difficult matches

Round 2 versus UrzaTRON (tron lands + mana artifacts + Pws Ujin, Karn Liberated) win 2 -0 mainly because he played slow and I got discard him some key parts: Oblivion Stone, Karn Liberated...
I won 2-0 in two very fast games

Round 3 versus UR Breach ( Through the Breach combo with Emrakul) .
In G1 I was developing my play, dominating the board and suddenly he comboed Through the Breach plus Emrakul and all finished abruptly.
For G2 I sideboarded the Fatal Pushes and boarded in the two Liliana of the Veil in order to have maximum discard power but it was not enough…
I discard him one Emrakul buying some time, he shuffle GY and library and he will need to find it (one of his copies) other time
I cannot use Stubborn ( not in my hand) when he casted Through the Breach So, I lost 0-2

Round 4 versus URZA TRON tron lands+ mana artifacts + Pws Ugin the SD, Karn Liberated (very simmilar deck than round 2) but I lost 0-2
Arrived late to my table and the judge give me G1 lost ( it was my fault, iit was OK)
My oponent in G2 was faster in both assembling tron combo and casting both PWS very fast. I lost 0-2

    Round 5 versus Humans
My oponnent was unaware what I was playing and hit me some life points first turns Played 1 Tarmo and 2 shadows fast and he understand but too late. I won the G1
At G2 and G3 my oponnent boards in Mirran Crusaders with protection against black and green and Relic of Progenitus that were a bit hard to overcome specially for the Tarmos. II lost G2 and won G3 with DS + TBR so I won 2-1

Round 6 Versus A kind of Infect Humans CoCo

G1 I lost because I took fast poison counters with blighted agent and Inkmoth Nexus plus instants giving some +|+ effects ehat means a lot of poison counters
G2 I boarded in Lingering Souls but when finally I had LS in my hand I had not white mana and I cannot discard ( no looting then) to cast it as flashback and poison counters were 10 before I can react propeerly.

    Summary:
I'm really happy. I feel my deck consistent and I played more organized and better than in my previous LGS tournaments. Using well the deck core and SB tools like LIliana, LS, faithless looting, etc. and committing less errors.

My sideboard was also better for me. I did n’t include specific cards against Boggles or certain artifact hate but I had a SB less meta-dependent ,more multipurpose like a swiss-knife.

I had luck not playing against KCI, I was afraid of …
I have learned a lot in this tournament. I played versus decks like Urza TRon or UR Breach that were totally new for me.

    My pending tasks:
    - BLUE was in my deck but honestly I didn't play blue at all I didn"t use the Stubborns in alll the 6 rounds
Even, I boarded them out incorrectly in G2 and G3 of last round because I could try to use them against CoCo but it was because I did not see the CoCo in G1 and I considered it as an “all -creatures” deck not reminding about CoCo
-I used one SB slot for Hazoret without any proper idea of when boarded in...
    Thank you for reading.

The alternative is not Grixis but just BLACK & WHITE splashing RED...more like this:

including also Dash Hopes as counters

I have sleeved and I'm trying now a Mardu version. Removing Green: Tarmos and Traverses and adding Lingering Souls package to the Main alongside with Paths, Ranger of Eos and Gurmag Anglers (no Tasigur) to delve. Initially I miss my Tarmos and the Ranger is very expensive if you compare with Traverse, but Delver is easier to get and faster than Delirium and white give good options for SB... but not actually sure if continue with this or coming back to a jund version. I'm on an international trip now and I carry with me all cards for both versions (apart of my Legacy deck) in order to return to Spain connecting in Barcelona and I will have an stop-over for the GP but arriving late so only for Side Events. I must decide Jund or Mardu in the next 48 hrs. and I cannot test more because I'm in non-MTG countries... so, any recommendation? In both options I have eliminated the Blue color (Stubs and Delay) I'm considering 2x Dash Hopes)

I'm thinking about this deck and I have a couple of questions:

    1) Must I play more aggressively the mulligans?

I'm not very comfortable with Mulligan, so if I have one land and one discard spell. I go.
Perhaps could be fine mulligan upto get one land + one discard spell + one Tarmo or Grim flayer in order to be sure you get a T2 threat. And if you have a DS in opening hand check if you have enough fetchs+TSs+Dismember auto-damage to have the DS at T3

    2) is really impossible to play Gurmag if you keep the Delirium suite (Tarmos and traverses, perhaps not the Grim)?
    Thanks.

    Hello boys,
I did my promised testing, and I have included some notes:

    Vs. VALUE TOWN
Not so bad but finally I lost more games than win
Discard targets were important: the Reliquary and the Tireless Tracker were the most convenient to choose. Collected Company only with Toughtsize
GQ to my Godless Shrine left me without white
Since mid game the paths hit my creatures without basic lands to look for… this was a problem.

VS. DREDGE (it was an original list, playing regular Dredge but with 4xHollow One)
    Dificult pairing specially for G1s
-Creatures find always blockers returning from GY
-Fatal Push has no value here. You need exile the creatures not just killing.
-Discards are also bad they are mostly welcoming for Dredge
    No answers except GY Hate.
Surgical Extraction to Prized Amalgam was a good point but not enough.
Nihil Spellbomb was also good, but it will be better with more cards in the GY. I used it too early IMHO

    VS. KCI (Krark-Clan Ironworks)
Krark-Clan Ironworks is the key card that give the name to the deck
    This was impossible.
Not only because the deck but also because the player (it was an OPEN champion and he dominated the KCI deck)
I played 4 games against KCI and I lost all of them.
He assembled the key parts of his combo as faster as T2 or T3 (more frequently T2)
After that he plays very long turns that he call “loops” activating and sacrifying artifacts for mana and returning artifacts from the graveyard, earning life points and drawing more cards.
Until he use a lot of mana to kill you using an Pirite Spellbomb

You cannot use Pitting Needle against activated habilities if they are considered “mana habilities” so I played Pitthing Needle naming Pirite Spellbomb
In this way he must play a longer loop in order to look for Engineered Explosives to destroy my Needle. And after that same result.
Nihil Spellbomb and Surgical Extraction are also goods to create some disruption.
But INHO only with real artifact-hate cards you can expect to do something: Stony Silence, Shatterstorm … but only with Ancient Grudge or Reclamation Sage you are dead.

    Vs. Martyr’s Proc
I Win more than lost but anyway, a card like Rain of Gore would be fantastic in the SB against this type of pairings but I had not.

    Vs. Counters Company
Not easy. Both decks were at the similar level.
There was a plan B as Infinite life combo using Kitchen Finks.

    Vs, Merfolfs
My DS really crack this deck without big effort.
Vs. a RG Myr Superion Deck full of mana-creatures and mostly red direct damage spells.
They were easy victories. (Probably because I know well the deck because I played merfolks before)

VS. DEATH SHADOWS BUT NOT MIRROR
I played versus a Death Shadows deck playing Black, White and Red with DELVE using Gurmag Angler as major threat.
There was almost levelled but his deck had more consistency and finally I lost.
I like so much this type of deck, and probably I will try it in the near future. Gurmag in T3 is very interesting

    VS. AFFINITY
I feel that my deck was a bit better than his deck, but I was afraid about poison counters.
Using Ancient Grudge, Abrupt Decay and Reclamation Sage to destroy faster the Opal Moxes and using Fata Push against his creatures.
Liliana Of the Veil was not so good because his man-lands avoiding the edicts.
Well this time was not so bad, but it is a hard deck for sure.

VS. UWR CONTROL (not the classic UW Control, because he plays LBs and Kolaghan Command also)
I used Pitting Needle against Jace TMS that was very good
Liliana Of the Veil was very good in this pairing
This pairing was not so bad, but still hard.

    IN CONSEQUENCE:
My conclusions of this test are:
    1)
I cannot play with only ONE BASIC LAND
I need at less ONE SWAMP AND ONE FOREST
    2) I have changed my way to play the Street Wraiths.
I was cycling the Street Wraiths as soon as I draw it except if I was in a serious life problem or/and without DSs in the battlefield /hand.
Now, I have started to keep them in my hand, cycling only in turns without land in my hand.
    3) My 4 SB cards of White Splash, the 3x Lingering Souls and 1x Godless Shrine were absolutely fantastic. The best incorporation very effective against midrange creatures, Affinity, etc. It was the first time I played and they give me a very good result.
    4) Blue was not good for me. Stubborn Denial is great in very specific moments, but I cannot use it in many, many others.
cannot counter creatures, when I have creatures with 4 P/T is good but before normally they will have one mana more to spend.
Moreover, I suffered once when with a 4/4 DS on the battlefield and Stubborn Denial in my hand I was ready to counter his spell... and my opponent tapped his Grove of the Burnwillows and cast his spell without problems... (I was unaware about that!)

    5) I have changed a bit also my way to play the fetchlands against creature decks: except in the first three turns, I try to keep one fetch in the battlefield jut to wait for Fatla Push creatures CC3 or 4 who need Revolt.
    6)
I have found serious difficulties. I must reconfigure my deck or my way to play it

NOTE: I’m not a PRO, I’m not even a good player, but just a crazy collector who loves MTG and try to improve. Understand my conclusions in this context
NOTE2: I have mixed tournaments with cassual play also. That is because there is no structured info about results but only my feelings and if I win or lost more times. Sorry.

    Thanks

Answering to the few questions/suggestions from Jund Em In:

    1. How has Ghor clan rampager been in your testing? Not bad. It can be traversed, but I will cut it for temur battle rage
    3. How was faithless looting in your testing? Very good. I would like to keep two in the main. Card selection + Enabler for Delirium and probably (never try W splash) can work well with Lingering souls
    4. Im not a fan of manamorphose either but several players swear by it, would be nice to get some of their input.
Not very good for me. In any case, for every MM I must cut one bubble.
    5. Sure. I will remove the basic forest and add a breeding pool.

    6. No snaps.
    7. Yes.I love to have 2 x Abrupt Decayin the main. Just looking for space for them.
    8. How do you feel about tarfire? Of course I prefer Bolt. But since I play in an "ALL IN FOR DELIRIUM" mode I must include Tarfire.
    9. sweepers in the side... Not sure. Problem of EE is if I cast it with 1 or 2 counters, it will kill my creatures.

Thank you very much for your advices.
