How do you secretly choose an opponent? Write their name on a piece of paper? Cool cards. I'm sure my friend who always wanted a cat tribal deck is in heaven right now. And it's always nice to see old characters get a new card that isn't terrible.
Nice, I've been wanting to see other people's take on an Atraxa superfriends EDH deck. Right now I have a Cromat superfriends list I've had in the works for ages, been debating on whether it's worth losing the likes of Dack Fayden, Sarkhan Unbroken and the Bolases (especially God-Pharaoh who looks awesome!) in order to be able to run Atraxa as my general.
How does Nissa, Steward of Elements work out in the deck? Since your deck only runs 3 creatures, it seems like her 0 will wiff a lot of the time and while her other abilities aren't bad, they don't seem that amazing to me in Commander, but I could be wrong! I guess her second ability can be good for ramp, but it just seems so hit or miss to me, I feel like I'd rather just run a Kodama's Reach or something in place of her.
I see a lot of these decks running Nissa, Vital Force but she also never looked very impressive to me. Is it because she can recur Planeswalkers? Or is it because she makes a decent-sized chumpblocker (at the potential cost of a land)? If I convert my deck I'll need to replace some walkers so I might consider her.
What about Oath of Ajani and Gideon? Are they worth the deck slots, in your experience? I didn't try them in my deck because I felt like I'd rather have a mana ramp spell or another removal spell in their place. Gideon's does make a couple of chump blockers at least. Ajani's is like a pseudo mana-rock but I can't decide if that's worth it over just running, say, a Fellwar Stone or something. The +1/+1 counter ability of it seems mostly irrelevant to me, but of course in the right circumstance it can be pretty good.
How about Vraska? I had her in my deck but I cut her. 5 Mana for a pseudo-Vindicate just didn't seem worth it to me, and I've never liked her + ability.
Also yay foil Guay lands! Actually really want those, though I don't know what deck I'd put them in since the only decks I've tried to foil already have most of their basic lands foiled already.
Anyone notice how in one of the arts for each basic land, there's a random dude? At least I know there is in one of the Island, Swamp, Forest and Plains pics. I think I see him in one of the Mountain arts but I can't tell for sure. Or is that my eyes playing tricks on me? I can't tell now.
I really like a few of these. Namely the 1st Swamp, the 4th Island, the 1st and 4th Mountain and the 1st and 4th Forest.
Nice to see Cat tribal finally get an on-theme Commander in GW. I'm not really interested in building cat tribal myself, but I know a lot of players have been wanting it for years, moreso now with the random cat tribal support we got in Amonkhet.
I just really hope the last two decks aren't spirits and god forbid humans. We've got like a billion human tribal support cards and legendary human commanders already. Humans are the most generic, boring tribe in Magic IMO and we get them every set. And just coming off new Innistrad, I'm not ready to do the spirit thing again.
No Jackal lord? Meh. I was pretty excited about an ancient Egyptian themed block when I first heard about it, but man did this block disappoint me. I guess I'll be interested in the Planeswalkers, the Scorpion god and a few other cards and that's about it. Kinda hate how the Scorpion God is RB when almost all of the awesome -1/-1 counter card support is in GB. Want to build an EDH deck around it but when you have cards like the newly spoiled Obelisk Spider and old goodies like Quillspike in G, it just doesn't feel worth it. Would have been awesome if he were RGB.
That's really sad to hear. I don't play Magic much anymore so I don't really want to dump money into buying singles. But trading on this site is just as dead. I can never get junk rares, obscure foils, Planeswalkers, EDH wants or really anything I need via trading. Pucatrade was finally the answer to all of that. I was able to get cards on pucatrade that had been on my Wants list here for years.
Ugh. I hate how Wizards has this habit of introducing a new mechanic by name, then reusing it in a later set but not naming it this time around so as not to confuse new players. Life Goes On should be a Morbid card.
So is this site still kicking? It was my favorite site for a year or so. Got so many cards I couldn't get elsewhere, but then it suddenly became impossible to trade on there. Last time I logged in was around January or February. I sat on $14 worth of Pucapoints for 3 months before I finally got someone to eat them up. I had everything on my list from tokens, .20 foils and bulk rares all the way up to $10 rares and mythics but no one would send me anything. Also kept having issues with people stationed over in Afghanistan and other military bases overseas taking advantage of free mail back home to mail me .10 cards that I had to wait weeks to receive.
Hooray for obscure tribal support! I never would have guessed this in a million years, but I'm glad to see Wizards doing this kind of thing more. I hope it continues.

I think that's my favorite new Swamp. Are the full arts only in every other booster like they were in Amonkhet? That's really annoying. Wish you could just buy fatpacks and get them.
Wow, the Scorpion God is the kind of new EDH general I've been looking for! But...that name's a little generic isn't it? Sounds like what people would call the card when they can't remember it's official name.
Well, this leak has got me super hyped for the set. I'm seeing so many cards I want already. I haven't got to play Magic in a while, but maybe this set will get me back into it and be the first set I get a box of in a long time.
