Well, I just thought we take some time and review what colors we like in Lorwyn, Lorwyn, Morningtide.

My pick for the best color is the one that's been dominating in the polls: U. With Mulldrifter being the best common in Lorwyn, they continue to get card advantage in Distant Melody and Latchkey Faerie. Their flying force grows stronger with Fencer Clique and Nevermaker. There's still bounce Disperse and a new looter. What's not to like? Actually when reviewing the Morningtide Spoiler for the Prerelease, I noticed that blue had the most cards I'd want to pick high in a draft. The power is not very sparce in this color.

The second best (and here's where the debate begins, I believe) is red in my opinion. They continue to get great kill spells in Shard Volley and Spitebellows. They have creatures with awesome abilities like War-Spike Changeling and Seething Pathblazer. Honestly, has anyone been attacking on the ground and then you're opponent plays a Seething Path Blazer and the attacking comes to a stop? I've been on the receiving end of that. Plus the powerful connection with the Sunflare Shaman. There's an extra point of damage dealt with the ability and Shaman gets +2/+0 and first strike. Kill their best creature and attack for two more? I'm in. If I'm overrating the Path Blazer, let me know.

The third best, and this is close, in my opinion is Green. Solid creatures like Winnower Patrol, Elvish Warrior, and Amabassador Oak give this color a strong P/T for most creatures. And every deck with flying creatures fear the Lys Alana Bowmaster. Powerful reinforce spells Hunting Triad and Earthbrawn are excellent either way you play them. All this adds up to a well balanced color.

Fourth best color on my list is Black. Solid Kill spells like Violet Pall and Pack's Disdain go right along side with Moonglove Changeling. Their evasion is strong in fear and flying. And Morsel Theft is no run of the mill can trip card. Plus I love their Frogtosser Banneret the most out of the reducers. Strong color to go along side with U and I think Faerie's (probably without much contention) is STILL the strongest archetype.

Finally white... my my my... when I started writing this, I figured I would put them like second or third. But wow! This color gets the shaft again. Don't get me wrong, they have strong spells for draft like Burrenton Bombardier, Swell of Courage, and Weight of Conscience, but they lost on the rest. Their Changeling Sentinel is the worst of all Shapeshifters. The Wandering Graybeard is aweful compared to the rest of the kinship creatures. Shinewind is a low pick elemental. And Coordinated Barrage gets heavily outclassed by Pack's Disdain and Roar of the Crowd. Now actually people might disagree with me placing the red card higher than the white one, but I saw Roar do seven once and everytime I've had it in my hand, it killed something important.

As far as what colors/tribes I'd like to be in for LOR LOR MOR, here's my top five picks:
    1. U/B Faeries
    2. U/R Elementals
    3. G/R Elves/Giants/Shamans
    4. G/B/w Treefolk/Elves (get a big bump with MOR)
    5. W/r Kithkin/Soldier/Giants (even though I wouldn't want to be playing this, it's obviously strong when you get it to yourself, or most of it)

Well, I hope this causes a lot of conversation and that you post your favorite colors and reasons for LOR LOR MOR. Also it's interesting to see what archetypes people like the most. Have fun comparing and I'll be on soon.

In LLL I think I would take Perfect, but that depends on the rest of the pack. If there are two strong white cards, I would pass them and try to set the players to my left into white. In LLM I surely would take the Mage because white gets a much needed boost in Moringtide and it also gets rid of opponents reinforced creatures with +1/+1 counters. Again I think it's dependent on the other cards in the pack, but Mage and Perfect are always strong, even if you don't have things to use with them in play atm.

I had this card at the Prerelease and it worked amazing. MOR MOR MOR isn't a good draft plan, but it was fun having five Burenton Bombadiers in deck and having an attacking Air Elemental on turn four is amazing. One game I had a ton of mana and no way to break through... then I hit Swell and Reinforced a guy for 6 and then swung in for the kill next turn-very fun. Reinforce will be a highly drafted ability in limited. A decent creature, or a pump spell? I agree that it's like a command in that you get to pick which is better at the current position. Even though white is a tough color to want to be in for LOR LOR MOR, I think reinforce will help make it more attractive. Giants are great and Elementals are amazing, put I find myself drafting Red/Blue or Red/Black over Red/White.

My name is Joe Jaczewski and I live in Western New York. If you google me you'll find I placed in top 8 at an Extended PTQ in Rochester, NY. Yep, that's my best placing and I have no pro points. Well, I mostly play limited so I'll be posting on those forums more likely than not. I've noticed Type II gets updated constantly, while there are only a few links that are updated daily on Limited forums daily, so I want to increase that. I've been playing since Revised and my favorite color is Blue, followed by Red, and then the rest are low for me.

Update: I wasn't sure if my Avatar was going to work, but the picture is of my wife, Stephanie, and I on our wedding day May 5, 2007.
