Ash Barrens as another cycling land. Neat!
Gosh, I keep thinking about it. It's such a great one-drop that I never knew I needed.

Oh come on now.Quote from NGW »There are no words for the anger, hate, and disappointment I feel at these being four-colored and not allied.
I was looking forward to nee dimir goodies, not them struggling to give an identity to what is essentially just the lack of a color. And without reprinting fetches and duals, the manabases are going to be so bad...and just, ugh.
-Dimir gets new stuff nearly every set. There's 23 commanders right now, and 227 dimir cards. I love dimir too, but it's doing pretty well and is unlikely to ever stop getting new stuff. We get a new dimir commander practically ever block these days, sometimes two. We got 4-color stuff exactly once. Sure, dimir is better defined and four color is pretty similar to 5-color, but there's only 12 5-color commanders too, more than half of which are tribal (and a third of which are specifically sliver). Having more options for a nearly non-existent color combination is more interesting than having more options for one that already has a ton of stuff.
-Mana bases in the 3 color decks were awful too, but enfranchised players have all the lands they need so who cares. Besides, you can make a reliable, if slow, 4-c manabase for cheap, which I imagine is what they'll do.
-Seriously, though, relax. It's just a game. Anger, hate, AND disappointment? The ways of the dark side are these. -

Seriously, banning counters and removal is questionable at best. Just jam together a GUx Goodstuff deck and run out super threats that nobody will be able to deal with because dealing with things is Bad. -

As the gods keep getting more and more popular, I've been using this in my white lists because I feel like I need a second answer in addition to return to dust.
I like it better than things like erase and silverchase fox because if there isn't a god on the table I can just cycle it.
Also, I have all the flavor text sharpie'd out except for "scour the taint". -

Sure it hurts when they get blown up, and they aren't the best lands, but a person using a Strip Mine or Acidic Slime on a Karoo oftentimes sits there with regret 2 turns later when Serra's Sanctum or Academy Ruins or Alchemist's Refuge comes down. Or Coffers, or Emeria, or Phyrexian Tower...
This is the wisdom that comes from years of playing EDH. -

As combo-friendly as he is, I personally wouldn't go down that road 100%, but rather use the resource denial route, and things like Titania.
Death Cloud seems fantastic, and I love your Dark Heart of the Wood inclusion, lol. Even though it's jank, I want to drop my foil version on the table and say "Dark Heart of the Wood."

That settles it. I'm building that right now, lol.

I'll support both Karn and Staff of Domination. Karn needs no explanation. He's Planewalker gold.
Since Staff has been unbanned I've been enjoying it immensely. In my Vorel deck I can generate boatloads of mana, and Staff's creature-untapping is amazing with tap-generals. In my Kurkesh deck, I have access to infinite mana through Rings + Basalt, so Staff has the danger there of being broken, but 9 times out of 10 I'm using it as Bob describes above, as a "catch-all" of sorts that helps in nearly every situation, and whose overcosted abilities are bolstered by Kurkesh.
I've even been tinkering with a minor life-gain subtheme to try and kill people with Chalice of Death. Staff rules.

Don, are you sure you wouldn't rather Green Sun for 9 for Archetype of Endurance?
