So, I recently made most of a budget Brudiclad deck: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/budget-brudiclad-3/
and I'm looking for opinions on what I should add for the last 3 cards/what I should remove then what to replace the removed cards with. The maybeboard is cards that I might try to find room for in the deck once I get a higher budget/find out if enjoy it.
Otherwise just general tips around playing him, wincons, or upgrades for when I have more money to spend on the deck. Thanks in advance for the help.

Nov 24, 2018First, to double check I understand, I should aim for casual in most things but at least somewhat competitive in standard? Also I should start off with a mix so say getting a booster box then seeing what I can put together from those cards then buying the singles I need to finish them?Posted in: Magic General
Also to clarify I'm aiming to be mostly casual for stuff like edh. My play group is a few of my close friends who play relatively cheap decks, not weak but nothing that is super high tier. Also in the case I buy some sort of packs/bundle of packs whether a fatpack or whatever what set should I get?
Nov 24, 2018How good of an idea would it be to get packs so like a fatpack/booster box? I'm currently building an edh deck to play with friends but other than that I want to try to get a bit into standard or modern but not sure how or if it's worth it because I've heard they are really expensive to get into.Posted in: Magic General
Nov 23, 2018So I'm a hopefully returning playing that used to play super casually for a few months at the time of New Phyrexia. This means my collection is very small. As the holiday season is approaching I'm wondering what sort of gifts I could ask for from relatives to help get me going as well as to build my collection since while I understand that you can just buy singles to make the decks you desire (which I'm doing for an edh deck) I feel like it would be nice to have somewhat of a collection so that if I get a new deck idea I don't have to go out and get all the cards for it because I might have some lying around.Posted in: Magic General
Nov 13, 2018Ayish posted a message on Trying to both find a commander and build a deck with a $30-35 budgetSo I'm almost brand new to mtg and I'm trying to build a deck out of the request of a few friends. I used to play super casually for a year or so during the time period of stuff like New Pyrexia so I have little card knowledge and very few cards.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
With that out of the way I'm trying to as the title says, build a $30-35 commander deck to play with friends. The reason for the budget is because while I enjoy the game I don't at all know my play style because one, I haven't played much and two I don't remember if I had one. Also to be clear the play group I'll be with isn't competitive so the deck doesn't have to be super strong. We have a person with rareless Brago, one with the Wyrm, a $30 or so Draxos, and the only super serious deck is a Rafiq deck.
So if anyone has help to offer with choosing a commander then on how to build it, core cards that are must haves, wincons, etc. please help me out. I'd also like it if the deck had good future upgrades for if I enjoy playing. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me out.
Jun 17, 2018I just realized I forgot to link the deck cause it's like 2 in the morning so here it is: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/omnath-budget-landfall/Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Jun 17, 2018Okay, so after having posted a few things to decide a commander I just went with Ommath, Locus of Rage and did my best to build a fairly cheap deck taking the cards I own out of the price it comes down to about me spending $43 to finish it. The group I play with aren't super competitive and other than the Rafiq player even play kinda weird things like Pauper Brago. So just to put a stop to my typing since I could keep going, I want to know:Posted in: Commander (EDH)
1, is the deck any good for a budget deck?
2, what cards should I cut and ideas on what I'd replace them with. (FYI Ugin is only in there cause I was really tired when making the deck so please give suggestions on what would be better taking into count he's on of the cards I own and I want to keep what I'm spending below $50)
3, Upgrades to make in the future.
Jun 12, 2018So, as the title states, I'm trying to build a fairly low budget artifact deck to get back into magic with my play group. Since I haven't played in nearing 3 years I don't know much about many of the cards. My group isn't too competitive but I want something that would stand at least somewhat of a chance was I not playing it against them. I'm open to any suggestion for what commander to do, what cards to include, and general tips on how to keep building the deck or just any deck.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Edit: Open to other ideas of the type of deck, artifacts was just what I thought of first.
May 18, 2018So, after taking a 3 or so year long break from mtg, I've found a new play group and they mostly do commander. Not having a large collection or amount of money to spend on a deck I've been trying to find budget deck ideas. Sadly, I haven't really come across anything yet that sparks my interest. In the past I haven't really stuck to a play style such as aggro or control so I'm open to just about anything. I also don't have a large knowledge of cards, synergy, combos, etc. so please don't use lots of slang for play styles and stuff like that. So to sum things up:Posted in: Commander (EDH)
1) Trying to make a budget deck.
2) Something that will be fun to play with and against so my friends don't hate me.
3) Just about any idea I'm willing to look into since I don't really have a play style so suggest any theme of deck.
