German 4th edition comes to mind. Drudge Skeleton's with the swamp picture, and Elhaji with Warp Artifact FTW!!! On that note I pulled a Orc Captain out of 2 packs from a box of homelends 1/2 in 1 pack and the other half in another pack. It's even got the Crimp on it from where the cutter/sealer thingy hacked it in half.

For the same cost you get Tidings and Fathom Trawl, don't think either are seeing play atm. Man Trawl is some gas though, Mindspring is just too slow for the environment right now. It will probably become better when TSP rotates in sept. My 2 cents.

Haven't heard anything on this for a while. Figured I would ask and see how everyone is doing in thier respected cities.

So far I have 10 points myself from 3 tournaments and have locked a Top 8 slot, barring anything bizzare happening, with only 3 left in the season.

Rogues are remarkably inconsistent, and generally just weak. Nameless Inversion and Shriemaw the prowl enabler, and viola!

I can see the inversion, but how do you maw a black goblin? Oversight I'm sure, just a brief look thru my Mor stuff and between prickleys, and frogtossers, which enable, snitches, bandits, and the earwig, which lead into noggin whack and morsel thefts. Not sure how inconsistent that can really be, when all your goblins prowl out your other goblins, and your black goblins all prowl your discard, and lifedrain. You can also run prowlers. Even if you miss the prowl a turn 4-5 profane for 2-3 will get all your non-evasion dudes thru and it should be lethal all the time.

I'm curious to see how the rock is going to change with the addition of goblin-prowl decks entering the environment. Personally turn 3 double noggin whack scares me.

10th isn't going to rotate for another year ( I think ). T2 right now is X, Cold Snap, Time Spiral, Planar Chaos, Future Sight, Lorwyn, and Morningtide in another week.

Man how I hate Ultra-Pro sleeves, they are short, break easily, and some times come unevenly cut in the 100ct boxes. I hate having to buy 2 bags of 50ct sleeves as more often then not they aren't even. All my expierences with Dragon Shields have been outstanding.

In my first sealed I played G/B, wasn't a very good card pool. Went 2-2 and joined my second sealed, played U/W merfolk with 12 merfolk/changelings ended up going 3-0-1 for some packs. Joined the final draft of the day and ended up drafting G/R with some silly bombs. First pack I opened Rhys the exiled and started grabbing elves, thinking to go into black, sadly there are very few black elves in Mor if any, so I grabbed a few Game-Trail Changeling 6th pack had a suprise shard volley so I pushed into red. Pack 2 rewarded me with a Lightning Crafter which is a bomb period. Another late pick shard volley and I was looking at a pretty decent R/G beats. pack 3 gave me my hardest choice, do I take the $$ Mind Shatter or the Foil Vengeful Firebrand, I took the Firebrand because it was a better overall deck decision, I jokingly boasted that I got a foil, and told the guy I was passing the pack to that he was going to ask me what the hell I took that I would pass him that. When I passed the pack the guy next to me looked at me and said what the hell did you pick. The guy next to him looked at us both and was wondering what we had taken from the pack as we were bantering back and forth over it. lol I was rewarded 2 picks later with a Boldwyr Heavyweights that apparently the first 2 people thought wasn't enough of a threat to hate-draft it. I ended up with a very solid R/G beats with some decent spot removal.

Round 1 vs. U/W random stuff

Yeah this one was easy and I smoked checked him bad 2-0

    Round 2 vs. U/B faerie/rogue-flyers

Lost game 1 to weak card draws vs him drawing all his bombs, Game 2 was turn 3 lightning crafter, and turn 4 heavyweights and all he got was his nevermaker 8/8 trample > 2/3 or 3/1 flyers. Going into game 3 was just a race with a pair of 2/2 flyers against my pair of 3/2 elves, as he knew he wouldn't survive if the game started going long, he decided to try and race me, killed him with some pump in the end and went onto the last round, only to find out that because the staff wanted to leave that 1st and 2nd both got 4 packs and 3rd and 4th got 2 packs. So I got my 4 packs and added it to my 7 from earlier.

In the end I pulled out of 11 prize packs and 9 pod packs ( 2 sealed 1 draft )

In MD you got a play-mat for signing up for 2 sealed events. Which mat you got was random depending on when you signed up, they ran out in about an hour as everyone decided to sign up for the 2-wave events (2x promo cards, play mat, and -$5, is a good deal, $55 total for 2 waves is a good deal). I even got to sneak into the last draft pod of the night ( #31 ) OMG 31 draft pods, my goodness. I ended up drafting R/G beats with some burn. Word to the wise, if you get passed the 8/8 trampler for 2RR, either draft it or hate draft it cause it will end the game. It won me 2 games alone just on the fact that the next biggest non-rare playable critter is like 4/4.

I've been trolling this site and boards for a few years now and never had the gumption to register before. Dunno why I do now, guess I see some stuff that I want to post on.

The name, Helspont has 2 meanings, the first one as spelled was bogarted from the comic book Wild C.A.T.s It was the name of the main Villain, because I thought he was cool looking. The second meaning and the spelling is slightly different is Hellespont, which is referred to now as the Dardanelles, which is a straight that divides the Balkans and the Gallipoli peninsula, ( read Europe and Asia minor ). There you have it, silghtly original and a history lesson all in one Smile
