Anyone have an affinity list post WAR of the Sparks?

Are we going to have to play Cerenomious or Thoughtseize to fight Karn?

I think there's exactly one reason to include this card: you support a Fires of Yavimaya archetype. Without haste, it's not only the worst of the cheatty cards --- which we really don't *need* more of --- it isn't a good rate in other decks. It would be better to play Glorybringer or Thundermaw in that slot for most cubes.

However, if you have a lot of cards that grant haste to support the fires archetype, I think you can consider it. I have Rhythm of the Wild, Surrak Huntcaller, Lightning Mauler, and Lightning Greaves in my 540. And I'm still not sure it'll be great in my list.

I don't think this card is really strong but it could be a nice addition to sneak attack decks, Fire damp or even control decks that need a resilient finisher. Not a staple but one that people can jam into any deck.

The problem is that planeswalkers are often hard to remove and often don't offer any new additions to strategies. I would be super happy if the new set added alot of planeswalkers but also alot of removal for walkers.

I drafted this deck (I didn't make it into a deck). I was aiming for Black Green (or Abzan) Delirium/ graveyard whip deck.

I think you got some awesome synergies in your cube, but i was hindered a bit by the lack of color fixing (less than what I would like even for 2 color decks). I would do is to cut down on the mana intensive cards (Nights whisper vs Sign in Blood - I would cut sign in blood) or increase the amount of mana fixing.

If you play enough games you will find instances where you just can't keep the 1 mana open for relic. You are better off playing rest in peace. If you want to play surgical extraction or Crypt you can. I have a split my graveyard removal with two rest in peace and two relic. There is also the down side of relic being an artifact when they are siding in direct artifact hate.

RIP sounds like a strong card, but I don't think I would play it if it means blanking ravangers

So it appears that I will have a baby girl soon, and I want her to eventually learn how to play magic. Curious on what is an appropriate age to introduce them (10+?) and when should you upgrade them from casual kitchen to FNM? Anyone else with experience teaching their kids? Also do you let them go straight to meta decks or let them play with crummy Timmy cards?

I recall there was this girl that was 6 years old that attended a GP. I think her father was beside her the entire time for logistic (not to help with decisions). So I guess 5?

How are people finding RIP? Feels pretty counter intuitive as it stops your Ravanager triggers, uses color mana and costs 2. Why are we not playing our own Surgicial, Relic, Cage or Crypt to reduce our dependence on colored mana

One of the people in my cube group did exactly this for the wish cards - it worked perfectly well. Just have a mark of some kind on the front of the sleeve so you can easily sort out the wishboard cards in case they get shuffled into a deck by some effect.

Which cards worked well for the wishes?

So here's the wishboard my friend used to run - http://www.cubetutor.com/viewcube/36432 - his cube no longer has the wishes in it, but my guess is you can figure out which ones he ran from this list.

    Looks awesome

I woukd be tempted to let people wish for any drafted card not in their deck, just to keep logistics simpler. I ran Hanweir Battlements and a squadron pick with the garrison and it was a pain because of how often I have to dig about for it.

Are your wish cards all red? Do you colour balance them? If you have an uneven spread its leans towards a guild or 3 colour, seems awkward to balance.

    Actually I like this idea.

EDIT: I was just thinking, the wish player could potentially go through 100+ cards and could take a long time while. Secondly, doesn't this give a huge advantage to the wish player who gets to see which cards aren;t drafted?

I think you misunderstood. The wish lets you pick a card from their own draft pool that isnt in their deck, not from the cube.

The way you descibed could work but would be pretty time consuming. I wouldnt worry too much about the information end of it personally, its a small bonous in my eyes, not a huge one. Just ask you drafters not to purpose fully gain any extra info because its not in the spirt of the card; depends how much your trust them I guess.

One last simple soloution would be to just let a player name any card they want from rge cube and use the wish to represent it. Most time people wll know wha silver bullet they need and it will cut dow the time it takes to find and not give away if its drafted.

    That seems extremely underpowered.

Do you think this deck has any chance at FNM level without Chalice of the void?

Just mostly because I would like to start playing modern at FNM and colourless Eldrazi tron is the deck I have almost all cards for, but I don't want to buy some really expensive cards before Modern Horizons and seeing what changes will come up.
I still haven't decided which deck to go for in Modern and I'll probably end up on some midrange style deck because I think they're more fun in the long run, but I'm pretty much set with a deck like this. Just don't feel like buying 4 Chalice if I know I'll primarily be playing a different style deck hehe.

I can try and put together a list for critique, but it most definitely won't be optimal. Just more of a "getting into playing modern fnm" type hehe.

I think you could get away with Thorn of Amethyst.

The other choice I think may work is try to go a few more Mind Stones to try to power out your eldrazi fast to race?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWtAF71kVlo

This was Todd Steven's Eldrazi Tron deck tech from a while back (No Chalices Main) - It was the iteration of the deck before chalice. Maybe you could try this but I have no idea how good this would be in the meta

Okay here me out on this one:

I love the wish cards, but its near unplayable in cube. But what if every one of the wish cards came with its own wish board of somewhat situational cards you get after a draft that you keep with the cards not being played but you cannot put into your own deck.

Sagas activate in the draw step and Portent during the upkeep. So Portent will trigger and resolve before the saga does anything.

If the saga had activated during the upkeep then it and portent would trigger and you as teh active player would put the ability on teh stack first so portent would draw the card before the saga had made your artifacts creatures.

Thank you so much for explaining the trigger stacking.

My apologies, I didn't read the two interactions that clearly. Thank you so much.

    Imagine this scenario:

Your opponent casts portent on the last turn and put Terminus at the top of their deck.

You go to your turn and you have The Antiquities War trigger and about to go to Saga 3. How are these two triggers stacked?

Could I get it stacked so its Portent -> Miracles first before Antiquities wars?
