Thanks for the input on the grixis shadow matchup, I followed @yriel and @kastermester advice and was able to beat them 2-0, obviously it's a really small sample size since it's only one match but i'll keep on following the sideboard plan for future matches.

I was able to 5-0 a league, my list can be found here: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1522038#paper
Some tweaks I made before the league were: Adding another fatal push to the main because I felt the card had become better with an increase in ur phoenix and spirits decks online. I ended up cutting my 2 copies of anger of the gods because I didn't really feel like I needed them all too much, I added the fourth LOTV and the fourth fatal push in the board as replacements. The MTGO replay is bugged so I'd usually go into more detail but I'm just gonna write the matchups from memory. My matchups were:

    W: 2-0 vs Hollow One
    W: 2-0 vs Dredge
    W: 2-1 vs Dredge
    W: 2-1 vs UB Mill
    W: 2-0 vs Bant Spirits

My opponent lead on flameblade adept on turn one, so i played a cliffs, passed and then bolted the adept when he cast inquiry. Fortunately they didn't put any hollow ones into play I so played goyf and passed. My opponent played another flameblade and passed so I IOk'ed a gobline lore and pushed the adept. I was able to finish the game with the goyf and I guess I got pretty lucky since my opponent didn't get any free hollow one's into play.

    For the postboard game: -3 LOTV, -1 BBE, -1 ooze, -3 push, +2 NS, +2 SE, +2 CB, +1 Cage, +1 AG

I remember killing an adept with bolt, my opponent inquiries and discard phoenix, land, land and I discard a trophy, land and spellbomb, but I drew another one so I exile their GY and they just pass. I play goyf into goyf and they concede.

Match 2 I'm up against dredge and I IOK away a faithless looting leaving them with shriekhorn. They dont mill a dredger and put a narcomeba into play. I'm able to land ooze with 3 activation per turn and I'm able to exile away all the relevant dredgers so they concede game one.

For the postboard game: -3 AT, -3 LOTV, -2 push and +1 cage, +2 NS, +2 SE, +1 Kalitas, +2 CB

Turn one my opponent loots and put imp and land into GY, I surgical it away and find that their hand is pretty weak, plus I have 2 goyfs in hand. My opponent is able to get 2 bloodghasts on board and tries racing me but I already have double goyf beating them down and the double bolt for the win.

Match 3 I'm up against dredge again and I can't really remember all the details for this game one but I thought It was looking pretty rough for me until I drew ooze, exiled all relevant dredgers and then used my removal for his creatures which I were able to exile and they scooped.

For the postboard game: -3 AT, -3 LOTV, -2 push and +1 cage, +2 NS, +2 SE, +1 Kalitas, +2 CB

Game two I mull to five looking for some form on GY hate and they're able to get double amalgam plus a bloodghast so I scoop.

Game three my opponent mulled to 5 and kept on drawing naturally to try and discard a big dredger, but I landed a bob on turn two which drew me into goyfs and an ooze so by the time my opponent was able to discard to hand size they were already dead.

Match 4 I'm up against UB Mill, and I IOK away a fatal push, land bob and get a goyf into play while making sure not to crack my one fetch so they can't archive trap me and turn on their visions of beyond.

For the postboard game I side pretty light since it feels like a good matchup: -3 push, +2 CB and +1 LOTV.

I don't remember too much other than removing a hedron crab, then my opponent lands another, and eventually field of ruin's my land so we have to search, casts trap and visions, lands other crab and i'm dead. I decide to add back +2 push to deal with the crab.

Game three my opponent mulls to five and I take an ensnaring bridge, land bob, play goyf and my opponent concedes.

Match 5 I'm up against bant spirits. I play a cliffs and pass, they lead on noble which I push and then I TS away a company. I land a goyf, they tap out and play drogskol which I immediately bolt, and land another goyf which both end the game quickly.

    For the postboard game I: -2 bob, -2 lotv, -2 TS and +2 CB, +1, +1 cage, +1 EE

My opponent leads on noble again so I push it. They tap out for supreme phantom so on my turn I bolt it and land a cage. Turn three they play drogskol so I bolt it and land a bob at a pretty healthy life total of 15. My opponent reflector mages bob so I take 2, play goyf which they spell queller and then they land a drogskol. I'm able to play bob after taking a hit, a I reveal push and draw another push so I'm able to push the captain and ten the queller, get my goyf back and my opponent uses their last card to path goyf. We trade hits with each other, bob draws me land into land and my opponent is able to land geist. At this point I'm at 4 and they're at 7 so I'm hoping not to reveal a BBE. Bob reveals explosives and draws me into ravine, I wipe their board, attack for 2 and play ravine. My opponent draws and scoops.

Sorry if my report doesn't have as much detail in some spots, I would go back and watch the replays but everytime I try to it says there's an error and a window keep on popping up and blocks the middle of the screen while the replay is going on. Feel free to ask any questions, FlyingDelver's SB guide was super helpful to make sure I was boarding correctly.

Been struggling online vs Grixis Shadow, 0-3 in matches so far recently on MTGO against it.
I side out 4x bolt, 3x inquisition of kozilek and add 3x fulminator, 1 push,1 EE, 2 Nihil Spellbomb and it seems like most games starts wit them using IOK/TS to strip away a goyf/removal spell, land an angler and by the time i deal with it( i have 3x LOTV and 3x Assassin's Trophy)they can protect it or just deploy multiple shadows. I don't seem to be able to keep up with their sources of card advantage like multiple baubles and wraiths, plus snapcaster on fatal push for goyfs/bobs is awful. It says GBx is supposed to be favored overall in the matchup but I don't feel that way. Would love some advice for the matchup. I try and take delve threats/shadow with discard pre-board but postboard i take out discard for more threats but it doesn't seem to work well.

Hey FlyingDelver I was wondering if you were gonna add a matchup guide for hardened scales affinity in the primer? I've been struggling with it, I don't run any leyline of the void in my sideboard to shut off the modular triggers. I trim LOTV and thoughtseize.

I'm not well versed in the hollow one matchup yet but i'll be testing that out a ton this week for the upcoming GP next week. For a good reference on how to approach the humans matchup flyingdelver recommended the reid duke vs tay jun hao pro tour video, it's extremely helpful and i'd also recommend watching it. For tech vs humans, grim lavamancer is absolutely backbreaking for them to deal with, i've seen a turn one lavamancer single handedly beat humans. There's also anger of the gods but the humans deck can play around it to an extent and some new lists are running selfless spirits in the board to combat it. You could also try torpor orb but that just might be too cute for my tastes.

Went 3-1 at FNM with the same 24 land list that FlyingDelver proposed but no treetop village.

Round 1: Loss (0-2) vs Humans

Game one my opponent is able to curve out pretty well but I'm able to answer the first couple threats and land a bob. He's able to go wide and I'm picking off his creatures one by one and slowly starting to stabilize at 4 until i hit BBE off my bob.

    I side in +2 anger, +1 lavamancer, +2 finks and +1 brutality, -2 thoughtseize, -4 IOK

Game two I keep a speculative hand of lavamancer, anger and 5 lands. I drop lavamancer, and he goes noble into freebooter, taking my anger and I dont draw anything relevant and get run over by double thalia's lieutenant.

We play two more sideboarded games and I beat him 2-0, the first game I was able to double bolt and use k-command on vial and make him discard his last card then goyfs went to work. Game two I was able to anger his board and have bob and lili while he was hellbent and he scooped.

Round 2: Win (2-0) vs RUG Midrange

Game one I inquisition and see goyfs, blood moon, electrolyze and some cantrips. I'm have a double bob hand and he doesn't kill my first bob which runs away with the game.

My opponent didnt board against me but I threw in some spellbombs, cage, brutalities, finks, etc.

Game two i see he has two blood moons but my hand has a bunch of fetches so when he lands moon he actually hurts himself more than me. He empties double goyf onto the battlefield with two cards in hand while i have bob out, I cast lili into his four mana expecting him to cryptic, which he does and then i pulse his goyfs and he dies to bob running away with the game.

Round 3: Win (2-0) vs Gifts Storm

My opponent was running a weird version of gifts storm with merchant scroll but i'm able to strip his hand in the early game and bob and goyf make short work of him.

    I side in +2 brutality, +2 spellbomb and +1 cage and -2 terminate, -1 decay, -2 push

Game two I land cage and land BBE into spellbomb, and my opponent locks himself out with blood moon for some odd reason and I have swamp to cast my bobs.

Round 4: Win (2-0) vs Gifts Storm

Game one I'm able to answer turn 2 baral and then see a cantrip light hand with electro and remand and a ritual. He plays electro with remand up so i bolt without making my land drop, he remands, then i play mire and crack for crypt and bolt electro again. Goyfs beat him down pretty quickly after.

I side the same as last match

Game two I'm able to answer and early baral and have bob and lili poised to ultimate so my opponent is forced to empty for 4 goblins and go after lili while I have a 4/4 ooze out. I draw spellbomb and he's close to empty handed and ooze goes to work on his life total and he scoops.

Does anyone have any good advice on the humans matchup? Game one he had a pretty fast start and I was almost able to stabilize but he went wide and reflector mage was a little annoying. I noticed anger can be really good sometimes but lieutenant can make their humans outgrow anger as well.

Hey guys, been lurking for a while on the forums ever since the unbanning to get a feel where the deck should be and tried the 24/25 land builds. I saw flying delver and ectomark's 24 land list which i really liked due to the 6 maindeck hand disruption spells which i felt were vital to the deck and shaving them felt wrong. Sorry about the deck formatting, but this is the list I used to 4-0 my FNM.

    Lands (24)
    4x verdant catacombs
    4x bloodstained mire
    4x blackcleave cliffs
    3x raging ravine
    1x twilight mire
    2x overgrown tomb
    1x blood crypt
    1x stomping ground
    2x swamp
    2x forest

    Creatures (14)
    4x bloodbraid elf
    4x tarmogoyf
    4x dark confidant
    2x scavenging ooze

    Spells (22)
    4x inquisition of kozilek
    2x thoughtseize
    1x abrupt decay
    1x maelstrom pulse
    4x liliana of the veil
    2x kolaghan's command
    2x terminate
    4x lightning bolt
    2x fatal push

    Sideboard (15)
    3x fulminator mage
    2x anger of the gods
    2x nihil spellbomb
    2x collective brutality
    1x ancient grudge
    1x grim lavamancer
    1x liliana, the last hope
    1x grafdigger's cage
    2x kitchen finks

Round 1: Win (2-1) vs BW Unlife Combo

I was paired against local who brought a BW combo deck with solemnity, phyrexian unlife, sac outlets and geralf's messenger. I don't have many notes about this particular match, game one I'm able to turn one discard into goyf into lili and rip apart his hand. Game two he's able to combo me out, and game three I bring in some graveyard hate to stop the combo and win game 3 with goyf beats.

Round 2: Win (2-0) vs Jeskai Tempo

Paired against a friend playing jeskai tempo, I'm able to have the classic jund opener of turn 1 discard, into goyf into lili. He's playing tempo with spell queller's and I see some removal in the form of bolt/path and I'm able to bait him to take my thoughtseize with a queller, then bolt the queller with a bolt under it to kill the queller with the thoughtseize under it and take bolt from him to play bob which runs away with the game and I eventually win the game through raging ravine beats after he chumps with a colonnade.

    Postboard I shaved: -4 bolt, -1 decay, -1 pulse, -2 terminate, -2 push and +3 mage, +2 spellbomb, +1 lili, +2 finks, +2 brutality

Game two I open with discard into a goyf that can't be bolted and start beating him down. I land a lili and start ticking up getting close to the ulitimate when he flashes clique in his main in response to a discard spell and targets me. He sees two land and I draw brutality, killing his clique and ultimate lili. Goyf beats and a topdecked BBE get there. After the game I realized I probably had board wrong as he was jeskai tempo and not jeskai control, so his build had more creatures which my bolts and terminates can hit. He said I was wrong to take out all 4 bolts, which I probably was, I'd love to hear your guys thoughts on this and boarding vs tempo as opposed to regular jeskai control.

Round 3: Win (2-1) vs Gifts storm

I'm playing vs a friend on gifts storm and punt the first game, I kept a one lander on the draw thinking it was a fetchland and we both proceed to brick on the second land for 4-5 turns, by the time i find my own its too late and i move onto game 2 knowing i can get my friend in games 2 and 3.

After board: -1 decay, -2 terminate, -2 push and +2 brutality, +2 spellbomb, +1 cage

Game two I'm able to take a baral turn one and lead into goyf and lili. I start beating him down but brick on discard for a couple turns so I had to fade a turn where my opponent tried going off but couldn't get there in time.

Game three my opponent mulls to five and I turn one play grafidgger's cage and turn two inquisition away a pieces of the puzzle and play goyf turn three. He's land light but I'm drawing several lands while he sculpts his hand, he gifts me on my end step and I give him warrens and grapeshot and put revival and gifts into the graveyard. He casts a few spells and makes 8 goblins which I pulse and then swing with goyf. On the crucial turn of the game he tries going off and is able to almost grapeshot me for lethal but i go down to one and kill him the next turn.

Round 4: win (2-0) vs infect

game one i'm able to push a blighted agent, play discard into goyf and beat down while holding back removal and my opponent scoops.

    I take out -2 ooze, -4 BBE, -1 decay, -1 pulse and +3 mage, +2 brutality, +1 grudge, +1 lavamancer and +1 lili

Game three I bolt a naked elf and land bob which helps draw my sideboarded mages and grudges. I land goyf and keep applying pressure and from a previous discard I know he has might of old korsa x2 and groundswell but only 1 inkmoth so I take some poison hits and do some fighting and the end of his turn and he uses blessing to protect it from a push. He taps out and I mage it and the game ends when I swing with bob, goyf and ravine for lethal.

I really liked the 24 land list and having the 6 maindeck discard. I do wish that the copy of abrupt decay was a second pulse but other than that the deck felt very solid and I liked my sideboard even though i didn't side in any copies of angers. The storm matchup felt a little too close, my friend admitted he sequenced wrong vs me and should have opted to the bottom and that would've given him the last spell he needed to grapeshot me for lethal. Would love to hear your guys thoughts on the storm matchup and how you might board differently vs jeskai tempo/control.
