It really ticked me off that they had the gall to admit a Counterspell reprint was on the table for Dominaria. All these years of Modern and I'm still clunking around with Mana Leak, Logic Knot and Negate which are all different levels of fine but never wat I really want. I think a Counterspell reprint would do more for control than Search For Azcanta, Teferi and even Jace the Mind Sculptor could possibly do.
At least Wizard's Retort's existance let us know a reprint is not as far away as once thought and maybe even close to becoming a reality any time soon

oh those are dream charms...I fully expect a flavorful set with most of the real power at Mythic and Rare ala Dominaria. I wish they push the power for the Bolas Conclusion but I am dubious they will.
I know, I'm pretty excited because we will likely be getting some brand new Elder dragons, since Bolas is supposedly the only surviving member of the original five from Legends at the time that Fate Reforged takes place. So it would be awesome to see some other ones -- hopefully one or more that are also planeswalkers.
If the set is back-story for Ugin and Bolas we could still get new versions of Arcades Sabboth, Chromium, Palladia-Mors, Vaevictis Asmadi. I actually want to see the Leviathan planeswalker Bolas battled with. I thought one of the Dominaria articles that showed the Talon Gates that also had some art I hadn't seen before for the Leviathan.
Lets hope they bring the power if they do new version of them.
Fair enough like I said I expect Blue to get good treatment ala Red on Kaladesh thanks to Chandra since Jace is in Front and Bolas has Blue as well.

Lifelink: Anything over lifelink if has to buff creatures. Unless WOTC wants to give Azorius way better creatures...Unblockable? Hexproof? Flying?
Card Draw: Draw 2?
Creature Removal: Straight Exile with the Blocking or Attacking Restriction. Straight Exile they get some life no Blocking or Attacking Restriction. Unconditional Bounce and they cannot recast until your next turn.
Honestly, I hope Boros Charm is the standard and we get Guild Commands.
If? You mean when...Blue and White get the short end of the stick cause WOTC doesn't like what they do. White has gotta pay to high a price for its answers in mana or what your opponent gets back while Blue has gotten its card draw and counters crippled by overcosting and over specificity. Meanwhile Green keeps invading Blues turf to get better draw and card filtering while keeping its exclusive access to ramp. Red similarly retains its exclusive access to Haste and Burn while getting exile top card as pseudo draw. Black mostly just does what White does better like always cause Black usually just has to pay life, discard or sacrifice something while being the primary grave reanimation color. And all three of them benefit from creatures with abilities bolted on. Meanwhile Blue and White get saddled with overcosted and underpowered creatures even if they do get abilities on them. Not the efficient threats other colors usually get to enjoy.
If spells are going to be weak for the most part and creatures strong going forward then WOTC needs to reblance the color pie. Granted I have high hopes that Return to Ravnica in the Fall for three sets and Jace being at the center will do wonderful things for control.

I meant more who is recruited. If Ajani has recruited Ugin for the Final Bolas fight then I expect Sarkhan to also tag along. But seeing as Sarkhan is at the center of bringing Ugin back well you expect to see him.
Yeah I am not saying you cannot make a Black Hero but Liliana Vess was never the best choice, she was a monster who showed no remorse for over a century before the Mending. She simply lacks grand motivations beyond immortality and vanity. She is not sympathetic and never had been. She gets a free pass for being a hot chick in my book. You can be a villain and still have friends. Heck even if she does kill Bolas now its not cause she did it for the greater good its because Bolas screwed her so she screwed him back.
Still this all ties in why I found Wells trying to connect Teferi's actions to Liliana as falling flat. Teferi essentially fails do to an event that cannot be predicted and his failing is putting Zhalfir and Ghitu first over Dominaria cause he didn't trust Urza. Urza who did plan to kill some Oldwalkers and who did join Yawgmoth for awhile. Zhalfir is lost due to Time Spiral and eh Love of Jhoira meaning Teferi brought back the Ghitu Lands first which still could have worked if a certain someone hadn't shut the rift early.
Meanwhile Lili was an unrepentant monster for centuries and fails because she was too lazy or arrogant to read the fine print. Her falling is totally based around her characters flaws and events that could totally be predicted ie Bolas doesn't do anything for free and will screw me.
I am just saying the attempted links between Teferi and Jhoira with Lili didn't work for me. With all the talk about regrets. Cause Teferi was basically trying to do what is best for his people and JHoira's not what is good for himself alone. And he was right about not trusting Urza but wrong about his calculations on the success of war against Phyrexia.
Now linking Teferi to Gideon makes more sense. Since Gids is right that the Gods of Theros are pretty evil for the most part but his execution on handling the problem was flawed.
I suppose if its actually popular will visit it as a sort of Kamigawa done right. And yes I know one was based on Japan and the other is based on China.
