I largely agree, but rather am tired of Nahiri. I love Sorin and his story and want to see more of him being a stoic badass and am upset when Nahiri (who I think is in the wrong) shows up and ruins stuff.

I agree entirely. What I meant was I hate the way they re-wrote Sorin's character in Shadows, giving him a petulance that was completely absent from his character before. He went from calm insouciance at the triviality of everyone's everyday worries to 'WAHH WAHH NAHIRI!' foot-stamping childishness. It was an abyssmal character assassination. I hold the SOI/EMN writers more to blame than Nahiri. And now they're continuing it here. Frown

Well, he did lose his child. The loss of a child is the greatest loss, I can understand why he's changed.

"She does nothing the turn she's dropped."
    False
She has a minus and can more likely clear a decent threat if dropped early, from steel leaf to one whirley boi. Can also pop artifacts and enchantments that may be bothersome like a seal away, song of freylaise set up, history of bananas. Hell, even other walkers at 3 cmc. If they are no threats worth burning your loyalty on then plus up and set up a win con.
Vraska, Golgari Queen has a conditional minus. If you are on the draw and your opponent plays literally any 4-drop creature, what exactly is your plan? Run Vraska out into it and plus her for no value to maybe soak up some damage? That is not where I want to be with my 4-drops. She's bad when you're behind, mediocre when you're ahead and merely passable at parity. That's simply not good enough for a Planeswalker, especially when she's competing with Karn, Scion of Urza who can fit into any deck. She's a $5 card that will see fringe Standard play, if that.

Karn doesn't fit into every deck. Karn doesn't remove a blocker. Karn isn't much better when you're behind. Karn is losing 90% of the support that made him good, artifacts.

I'm just going to clarify and amend a few things.

"She does nothing the turn she's dropped."

Can also pop artifacts and enchantments that may be bothersome like a seal away, song of freylaise set up, history of bananas. Hell, even other walkers at 3 cmc. I'm also going to add if your against a zoo or midrange build, you can just drop her, pop someone and continue to play the game and if she's not answered, pop more creatures, literally repeatable removal.

We also have quite a couple fodder creatures we can sac to her, from useless mid game mana dorks, stitched supplier, zealot, ravenous chubacabra, not to mention treasure tokens are still a thing. And there are quite a bit of treasure makers. Surprised no one mentioned that.

Hilariously she really synergizes with the other vraska, her plus being able to pop the pirate or treasure for life and card draw and her ultimate basically making the pirates into lethal creatures.

The new zombie Midnight Reaper compliments her, too. Plus, the cheap explore creatures from ixilan will fill 2 roles in a b/g deck with Vraska, fill the yard/mana fix, and be used for her plus one ability. Honestly, she isn't as bad as I initially thought. Also, Oathsworn Vampire is repeatable draw/lifegain.

In standard, Doom Whisperer and Twilight Prophet into Ghalta, Primal Hunger is a 12 point drain.

A playable black 5 drop... It can be done.

Another zombie you don't want to attack with so you can reap the rewards of it's effect. Not entirely unplayable, but not very high impact nor does it compliment current zombies and their play style.

With Dominaria's saprolings in those colors still in Standard with this set, I wouldn't be surprised if Golgari focuses on tokens or even specifically saprolings this time around, and has a keyword that rewards you for going wide or sacrificing.

That's what you want to hear, right? Smile

Honestly, not really, because i love saproling, but i also love my necromantic golgari overlord.
However, since saprolings are big thing on Dominaria and since the were a big thing on Ravnica too, i can see them being mechanically important.
In return to Ravnica they shifted the saprolings from the selesnya (they wanted to focus on bigger tokens, literally 0 selesnya cards from rtr block make saprolings) too golgari: korozda guildmage. (grand ossuary also count?)
It's only one card, but it's the only card in the entire block that makes saproling.
So they either give saprolings back to the selesnya, make them a big golgari theme, or make saproling almost irrelevant and nonexistant.
I'm happy with every option beside the last one Wink

Support for a tribe in one set, doesn't mean there will be support for that tribe in upcoming sets. The zombies from innistrad didn't receive support until amonkhet. It's rare for wotc to make tribal support from set to set all while giving us weak tribes like pirates, saprolings, and knights that will see no support in the future.

I really want to play a viable zombie deck when amonkhet rotates, but I highly doubt they will print enough playable cards to support the tribe in ravinica where this card would be very useful, especially if they continue their trend of printing two mana tribal lords. Also, there's a new trend that wotc has taken, and that is to prioritize play-ability among certain colors first, then, fill the other color(s) with vulnerable cards to those specific colors. There is never parity, they overload red, green, and blue with the best cards(providing the most card advantage) and then hose the other colors.

It returns all zombies on curve, interesting. Now they need to print 3 playable zombies, but I know they'll never do that.

Diregraf Ghoul, Graveyard Marshal, Death Baron ? Still need more playable Zombies with the Amonkhet ones leaving, but just saying.

After rotation... Can't make a zombie deck with 12 zombies total.

Well, 6 years later and in a casual set... ******* brilliant, Wizards.

    WOTC:
Hey guys, let's make some good black cards today.
    Ok, what format?
    Standard.
    Ok, no.
Let's make some garbage that nobody will play. Also, let's make standard black cards have negative card advantage.
    Oooh, nobody will play black.
    Exactly.
Let's make some good black cards for C18. OK LOL!!!

I see powercreep has crept it's way into people's minds. This card would be pretty bonkers in a world without Scarab Dogs and Heart of Krillin.

No, it really wouldn't. If this card were any other color it would be made playable, guaranteed.

I think we're arguing two different points here, but here's some context.
Some similar rares from older core sets:
    Vampiric Spirit
    Sengir Vampire
    Fallen Angel
    Bellowing Fiend

Bone Dragon is clearly a very powerful card. It's not particularly interesting from a mythic point of view though. But that's pretty typical for Core Sets.

You said this card would be bonkers without the scarab god and heart of kiran, but it really wouldn't. Maybe if there was another ability that made exiling cards beneficial... Maybe. The dragon has synergy with the new Liliana and her first ability, but it isn't a zombie.

Why do zombies always have to enter tapped? Smile Would have been great if the card was abusable like virtuoso or legion's landing.

Flavor... Coming into play tapped is them rising from the grave, according to Rosewater, back when the original Innistrad came out.
