Humphrey posted a message on Holy ****, this game sucks as a "new" playerI think the game is a horrible place to spend money on, because of the fast rotations and the unavailability of direct purchase of singles. If your goal is to play competitive (constructed) magic play MTGO, is vastly superior when it comes to that, offers all formats and actually even has the better interface. And you can cashout at any point.Posted in: MTG Arena
Arena is for casual fun and limited (where ofc you can also sink a lot of money into). If you only enjoy the game trashing F2P decks with your netdeck, then in my opinion are a very poor guy. -

Preorders dont become available until the first day of retail availabilityQuote from OfTheMist »Quote from The Decepticon »
you can a) just get your packs, drop from the event, and leave, or b) play in the event which will take approx 5 hours. Everyone gets additional packs based on the number of wins they finish withQuote from OfTheMist »I'm going to my first Prerelease on the weekend, and I was just wondering, how long do they take? Is it a casual event where you can just come and go? Is there some sort of tournament?
Thanks for the reply Deception. One last question for anyone out there:
Can you get your pre-ordered booster boxes and the prerelease? -

sleeper agent 2.0 posted a message on Aurelia, Boros ChampionI don't usually like designing Boros cards and I think the previous two incarnations of Aurelia were designed just fine, but looking over the GRN spoilers and realizing the Boros creatures all fit into certain creature types gave me this idea. I think she'd obviously be good leading a Boros deck, and is a build-around bomb for limited, but would also be an interesting tribal commander for EDH. Open to better name suggestions too.Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Aurelia, Boros Champion 4RW
Legendary Creature - Angel [M]
4/4
Flying
Whenever a Soldier you control attacks, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
Whenever a Knight you control attacks, it gets +1/+1 and gains first strike until end of turn.
Whenever an Angel you control attacks, if it is your first combat phase this turn, untap all other creatures you control. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase.
Yes, every Boros creature except for its guildmage is a soldier, knight or angel. The wording on the final ability may be a little wonky - but if multiple angels you control attack in your first combat, they all untap each other and you would get an additional combat phase for *each* angel that attacks. Maybe that's busted for red/white angel tribal. But since it says "if it is your first combat phase this turn" instead of "attacks for the first time", you can't use blink shenanigans to get infinite combats like with the original Aurelia.
At least, I think. Open to wording help. It's possible that the last ability would just be better if it triggered only off of Aurelia, not any angel, but I like the repetition of the "whenever a [creaturetype] wording of this draft. -

khaosknight69 posted a message on Post Guilds of Ravnica: Jeskai ControlI actually think Electrostatic Field probably deserves an inclusion. It's really strong vs lots of early aggro with it's 0/4 body, and the incremental damage really adds up over time, especially in the builds that plan to win with either teferi lock or burn damage. Kind of reminds me of wall of omens except instead of replacing itself it's a clock of sorts and much better in multiples.Posted in: Deck Creation (Standard) -

Dusk707 posted a message on Who are the Guild Leaders for Ravnica Allegiances???We know Azorius is getting a new leader from Assassin's Trophy. With that, we have two blue aligned walkers over the two sets. This, to me, rules out Simic. Following the logic of balancing colors amongst the walkers, Orzhov becomes the next option, giving both black and white their second walker. This leaves Red and Green as the only color combo represetned on one walker thus far, meaning Gruul is the third Bolas controlled guild in Ravnica Alliance. (based on my speculation)Posted in: Speculation -

OrzhovPlaneswalker posted a message on (GRN) Guilds of Ravnica General DiscussionJust thought I’d put this up as PAX’s MTG panel is sure to discuss the story today. Assuming this is OK’d by Moderaters of course. Feel free to take it down and create a new thread if otherwise.Posted in: Magic Storyline
Can’t wait to discuss the tidbits at PAX and Ravnica Story as it occurs! Post everything relevant you hear and read! -

infernox10 posted a message on Gatherer Comments Returning?Honestly I Just Miss MasterOfEtherium. His/Her Comments Left Me With A Feeling That Has Not Been Replicated Since. Sure, The Comments Left In Gatherer Were Oftentimes Helpful, Informative, Or Downright Funny, But MOE's Comments Were Truly A Sight To Behold, Due To Format And Content.Posted in: The Rumor Mill - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
