So after playing a few pre releases, Simic seemed top tier. The fact that your guild mechanic is built-in flood insurance is FANTASTIC in the slower sealed format.
I agree that Simic is tops, I played 3 pre-releases, Orzhov, Simic, Rakdos. And during Simic (granted I had a sick pool) I played against Gruul all four rounds and did 3-1. Cards like Chillbringer and Sharktocrab really helps tilt the matchup.
I just realized, they didn't even introduce a new mechanic this year! I'm not counting "Commander Ninjutsu", that's a single card twist on an existing mechanic.
If anything Doubling Season at mythic in a super niche set is going to push the price up. What a joke. They still haven't learned.

The price jump on reprints is because ey are printed in master sets which have a small print run
This set is getting printed at a pace no different to a standard set

Actually it is you who screwed up. BBD won't be printed at a pace like a Standard Set, Standard sets are printed into oblivion until the set rotates (max 2 years?) out of standard unless they don't sell like HOU which was discontinued 6 months prior to rotation.
Instead, BBD will be printed at a pace more similar to Unstable (go a bigger first print and a smaller second print) and Conspiracy. But given the success of Unstable and DOM I believe they will bump the BBD print substantially. That being said, it's very likely they will stop printing within the first 6 months, or until the next supplemental set comes out (perhaps before xmas?)
This is pretty great. I already build my commander decks standard (limited as a matter of fact) legal. A faux-constraint to keep my wallet in check and I like a more consistent theme with my cards.
Brawl is essential what I do with my Commander decks at home. I`m too type A to mix old cards with new so I keep everything within a block which obviously is a big disadvantage. Now the blocks are gone I`m trying to come up with new constraints to build my decks.
