So how do we beat UB Mill decks? Only way I see it is going with the through the breach deck and have an Emrakul in sideboard. With a standard scapeshift+primeval titan I dont see how we could win. Sideboard in couple Primal Command could work but only if we have it in the starting hand since they will probably be put in graveyard anyway.
I'm trying that deck atm. Feels good vs a tapped out control deck to breach in Titan and bring in some valakuts. They dont expect a Titan on 4 or 5 lands. From there it just snowballs with path to exile or even field of ruin.
Need to test it more thou, I feel comfortable with traditional titanshift...
Went 4-1 on a Friendly MTGO league. Won against Humans 2-1, Storm 2-1, UW Control 2-1, UW Control 2-0. Lost the mirror match 1-2. Best part of the league was game three against humans where I turn two Fulminatored their land into turn three demonic dread on their noble bringing back Fulminator, Street Wraith, and Cerodon. Blew up their land again, and they gave it up. Deck feels great. Maybe considering Choke in the SB, but not sure what I'd want to take out.
Thanks for sharing! 3-4 Infir is the best solution in current creature heavy meta imo. Can you tell us how the UW Control match-ups went? For me its the worst match-up so any advice is appreciated.
Only two Beast Within in his 75. Must be tough getting rid of Rest in Peace on board or other enchantments (8-rack, bogles).
Otherwise pretty straightforward decklist.
May I ask why you are running Deadshot Minotaur instead of Monstrous Carabid? I think Minotaur is worse than Carabid if LE resolves and puts Shriekmaw and Minotaur to battlefield and Shriekmaw has to target a non-black creature.
Anyway I like your idea with having Shriekmaw in mainboard right now when current meta is heavy on humans and storm.
Thanks for reply ottosmagic13! Of course I meant Cryptic Command instead of Collected Company, my bad.
Maybe I could sideout one Living End also because I dont see that last one resolve lategame versus control decks. I rather hardcast then and use Violent Outburst and Demonic Dread without cascade.
Thanks for advice I need to play more to get a grip how to play vs control.
Hi! Im new here but I have been lurking on this thread a while and I love playing Living End.
I've played almost 30 games now with this deck (yes, thats not alot) and I'm having the most struggle vs control decks such as UW Control or Grixis Control.
Can someone help me with the sideboard against control? I board in Slaughter Games (targeting Cryptic Command), 2 Ricochet Trap, Lost Legacy (targeting Cryptic Command). Not sure what to board out. I feel like when they got 4 lands and more the game is really one-sided with all counter spells.
I've faced couple death taxes and 3 SSG have saved me many games when I was able to cast Beast Within targeting their lands or Aether Vial on their turn 2 upkeep.
Also I like to have 4 fulminator against midrange decks such as jund and abzan. Really locks them out early game.
2 Archfiend of Ifnir
4 Desert Cerodon
3 Faerie Macabre
4 Horror of the Broken Lands
4 Lurching Rotbeast
4 Monstrous Carabid
4 Simian Spirit Guide
4 Street Wraith
Spells:
4 Demonic Dread
3 Living End
2 Beast Within
4 Violent Outburst
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
1 Blood Crypt
4 Bloodstained Mire
2 Blooming Marsh
3 Grove of the Burnwillows
1 Mountain
1 Overgrown Tomb
1 Stomping Ground
1 Swamp
1 Beast Within
3 Dead // Gone
3 Gemstone Caverns
3 Ingot Chewer
3 Ricochet Trap
2 Shriekmaw
Notice he have replaced all Fulminators with Lurching Rotbeast and 3 Gemstone Caverns in sideboard...
Also no Basic Forest in mb.
Need to test it more thou, I feel comfortable with traditional titanshift...
