So tired of those posts getting made to Reddit and/or shared on social media. I disproved the last one about Ensnaring Bridge and it looks like this one is just as fraudulent. Posts like that just increase ban mania, uncertainty during an already uncertain period, distrust, and misinformation. They are terrible for the community and I wish Reddit was more responsible in shutting down or editing such information once it has clearly been proven false.

I'll also add that information consumers have a responsibility to be more discriminating. It takes about 15 seconds of running this through any free photo forensic software to identify glaring signs of a faked screenshot. It literally says it's a photoshopped image in the metadata. I don't know about you, but I don't run my screenshots through photoshop before posting them.

The post has since been taken down, but I saw while it was live that a mod stickied their comment to the top with their rationale to keeping it live; basically if they took it down there would be reposts and people accusing the mods of being "shills" so they kept it up with the caveat that it was "probably fake". Looks like they removed it after the photoshop analysis or whatever was posted.

I've had it since it was spoiled really, (Retreat that is) I just sometimes or often I guess, get annoyed with the execution of the combo in MTGO, its a lot of clicks.

Knight of Autumn really helped out the deck imo, and the various Spirits...I was thinking last night after a few matches you could almost pivot it into Spirit Tribal...but the sideboard wouldnt make it.

Either way, its one of my favourite decks, if only because of the Turn 3 combo. :]

I even went to the bother of getting old old foil basic lands so they match the art from the original shocks...its such a nice looking deck. Grin

Oh man, I bet. I love the old-border foil basics, like Odyssey, Mercadian, etc. Upload some pics sometime if it's not too much of a hassle!

Playing Remand is enough of a reason. I was just too scared to buy into a 2 card combo again. :p

Man, you sure added that Knightfall deck into your signature quickly :p

Enough to bump humans up to/passed spirits?

I'm not sure how plausible it is, but this card has my UW Taxes-Sense tingling.....

Ugh,this sucks. I only need Mox Opals and EE's to finish KCI, OR, I could throw down ~$200 for arclights and manamorphose to do UR phoenix. On one hand, I just spent 150 bucks throwing together the supplementals for KCI, and goldfishing with it has been surprisingly fun. On the flip side, I reaaaally don't want to spend 400 on opals just to see KCI hampered come the next B&R. What a fantastic dilemma..... Bans suck Frown

Self-quoting just because my wife is awesome. She bought me 4 arclight, 4 manamorphose, and 3 EE last night as an early Christmas gift. Now I get to keep my cake and eat it too!

If he play it, if it's new, he need to count it. It is a great upgrade for humans, like a great upgrade for elves even it is no Elve. Vial is not a human too, so we don't count it?

No, if I am building a human deck for say, casual kitchen table magic, and I go to Gatherer and type in "Human", Aether Vial will not show up. This conversation was regarding the Human subtype for creatures, not about what upgrades/staples are in the humans deck.

You don't count knight of autumn, because 10% other decks use it now too? Strange reason.

I think he means he's not counting Knight of Autumn because it's not a human.

How useful is engineered explosives against the current meta? It looks rather pricey even at the 30 dollar mark.

Well 60 days ago they were going for 105 apiece, so I'm snapping some up at 30.

Part of my reservation of buying combo decks like that is that it doesn't really go into much else. One ban or just a deck/card to invalidate an entire deck makes me nervous.

Just from naturally playing GBx and whatnot I have most of the Arclight deck minus Arclight and Manamorphose. There's a bunch of the smaller pieces but they're not expensive.

UR Control dominated over the summer, just the recent graveyard decks is making it difficult to navigate.

Yea, same, arclight and manamorphose is pretty much all I need for UR arclight. I share your fears about a possible ban hampering KCI, but as long as it's not MOpal I figure I could also move into hardened scales.

Without a massively negative PT or overwhelming player outcry, I really see nothing being banned any time soon. It's not that KCI isn't degenerate misery, but if we go down the path of banning all degenerate misery, we lose half of Modern!

    I know right....

I don't feel like a ban is coming for stirrings or mox opal, so KCI should be a clean choice. Plus it's way more fun to play than to play against! #CantBeatEm,JoinEm

Yea, I have groaned and moaned over the format while trying to make reactive strategies work but now I'm biting the bullet and buying into KCI. On the plus side, learning how to pilot the deck has improved my understanding on how to stop it if I ever go back to UR_sucks.dek.

I've been TiTi player for a couple of years. It was my favourite and in my opinion most underrated creature of modern. But nowadays the deck to play TiTi is Izzet Phoenix (they can flip it in a turn). In our deck TiTis get killed every single time. After a month of playing leagues and getting all my TiTis killed and not flipped, I started playing the Drake and this is the real deal.

We are a control deck. We have a lot of direct damage to deal with first turn creatures. We even have Anger of the Gods. I stopped using my mana and my resources to play TiTi and instead trying to take control of the game and introduce a late Crackling Drake to finish the game in a shot. If anyone wants to try, you can try and then tell us your impressions.

I've found my experiences to mirror yours; TiTi gets killed quickly, or, I am unable to gain traction and flip it in a decent amount of time. I've been playing Drakes instead in one of my lists and I personally like them quite a bit more. I definitely understand the importance of Thing and how great they can shift board states, but I've found the play patterns using Drake to be more fun.

Bleh, and after a night of not finding the combo, I'm back to normal Thing + Walkers. Grin

Yea, I'm still rocking the kiki combo. Faced burn 2 rounds in a row at FNM last week, so that was half of a night I got back Smile

I also bought my playset of twin that I"m going to rub for luck every night....

Went 4 Thing/3 Breach/3 Emy, working ok so far.

I've tried that build in the past as well. I really liked it, but I ran into the problem of not being able to flip thing. Still, having the opp bank on killing our Thing just to Breach them feels nice.
