Wildborn Preserver called it new 2 drop with serious mb potential
    ok sized body check,
    2 relevant keywords check,
    mana sink check,
    +1 counter check
makes a late game eone relevant check.

to be honest this is going to see a lot of play both standard and modern probably worth picking up a playset if you can find them under $3 at any point.

Experiment One is a human so it doesn't trigger the Preserver.

I love cards that leads to surprising interactions, and blink is one of them.

    Testing over Soulfire Grandmaster.

Ah, that is what Rosewater is so enamored with.

Where'd everybody go? I don't get to play my Cube enough to participate heavily in offering opinions but I always enjoy seeing the "overnight reactions". I guess the Pauper spoilers haven't really hit full swing yet..

In most Cubes I think a good analogue to compare would be Scavenging Ooze and when the grave hate isn't relevant that guy is highly mediocre.

This is why I am HIGHLY dubious of "psychographics" (which is not a real concept outside of the head of Magic designers wrapped up in inane "lifestyle" research IMO). By linking color to "philosophy" above all else you easily miss the forest for trees -- in this case somewhat literally. When you are THAT associated with a forest (AND archery), you should be green.

Its not even that much of a stretch on the philosophy front either because you can depict him and his men as Diggers (or Levellers I guess if they're too squeamish for that)

A card like Syr Conrad the Grim (besides the overly fantasy-ized spelling of Sir) makes me sorta mad.

As someone who now finally owns a fully fan-made-card cube, I look at the laborious wording of Conrad and feel jealous.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, would tolerate this effect from me. And the annoying way that we need to say "card" when referring to cards not on the battlefield has made the wording of this effect unnecessarily verbose.

    /rant

sorry, I'm still salty about the number of designs I've had to scrap with similar intentions.

Please propose a funtionally equivalent wording of these abilities that would work within the rules of the game.

They massage the rules all the time for mostly frivolous reasons. Then on a godawful clunker like this they insist There Is No Alternative.

It's nothing earth shattering but I like the Wildwood Tracker.

If that is ultimately our Big Bad Wolf..kinda disappointed.

Questing Beaast's card feels more apropos to me

the closest thing we get to a cubeable combat trick

Preach. Combat tricks are a staple of traditional limited sets, and the fact that we don't have a single cubeable one bothers me. Unfortunately, I don't think this card even comes close to cutting it. If only the mana cost was much lower. Something like 4R and Equip 2 would have made me want to test it, but alas this is just too expensive.
    Muta
    Maybe some day.

Mutagenic Growth is really good. It's a free spell for the Young Pyromancer/Monastery Mentor/Kykar decks too.

Mutagenic Growth is just great. Free spells are nutzo in the spells decks and hyper aggro love it too. I also play berserk and temur battle rage. Both make Kiln fiend one of the biggest 2 mana threats in my cube. Maybe not for everyone but I am shocked no one else likes them. They are gorgeous with equipment.

As for this card. It's kind of a garbage fire win more card. The kind of decks that want it don't want big clunky spells. Token decks need more walking anthems, Red god type stuff, and better things to do before turn 3. My problem is not how much you end up paying for this just hat it isn't happening until turn 4, at which point I just want a hellrider or Armageddon.

    Love Berserk and Battle Rage

This seems like the best 3 mana black removal spell. I think you play this in all cubes of all sizes unless creatures are irrelevant or you don't play with Planeswalkers or something like that.

Funny, because I don't know we will put this in our cube Smile

well thats a ability salad, we usually get at least one each set. It seems like the 3rd ability line is around just to stop fogs as preventing damage is mostly faded out in standard.

protection is back though so the "can't be prevented clause" means that even pro-green creatures die no matter what due to its deathtouch.
