Looking at it, i dont know if i like Gluttonous Slug at cubeable. It forces you to play creatures before attacking, and even if you curve perfectly it's still only 2 power on turn 4. Is that really better than a 2 or 3 power menace creature on turn 2&3? And it's a horrible top deck.
I'm not convinced either but it seems like some people will be trying it out so with some testing we should be able to settle the question.
I'm on board with your list of staple/cubable. Its hard to tell on the borderline cards. Some are "just a smidge short of cubable" while others are more like "I guess I wouldn't object too much if someone insisted on cubing this"
Dang, I'm 0-2 for those. Forgot the second ability would be shut off on Devoted Druid, and also thought Cryptic Command tap targeted. I'm not very good at this game.
Don't worry, I'm probably 10x worse lol
Also, I think the Green PW deck has 3 Barkhide Troll in it so I'm going to try and pick one up at the Open House tomorrow and get some testing in with the Trolls.
WHY?
Most of the top cards either do something better than the competition, or are varied enough that they may slot better into prominent archetypes.
HM's do some cute things, but are either niche or challenge a 360's more competitive slots for a card that may work out less than what is cut.
What isn't listed
I, .like many can say "______ is a decent choice", but from the debates we often have here about efficiency and more reliable options, they just aren't beyond what we have.
Better Red flying bodies? Cool, but isn't a better beat-stick more needed?
Cool 6cmc tap abilities? Ok, we have Invokers already, and they have mostly been cut.
No new archetypes come about. And the usual stuff is coming in. Standard Core Set fare.
Savage Gorger
Haven't seen this card mentioned at all but I think it has potential. In the right deck (rakdos) this can attack as a 3/3 flying in turn four and it will keep growing. Although it's probably too inconsistent.
I don't think that it can attack as a 3/3 on t4 since it only gets a counter on your end step. You can basically "bloodthirst" it to 2/2 the turn you play it and then it (hopefully) gets progressively bigger each turn after that.
Also, what are your White, Red and Black 2s, White Red and Blue 3s and Black 4s picks for the most powerful drops? The staples are pretty much clear both in the Evaluate Everything and by experience, but after that the cubeables are another world entirely with almost everyone running different things, so I was wondering if we could reach a consensus of which of those are the most powerful among the bunch (something like below staple but above cubeable).
I'm not sure there is a definitive answer. We're planning to rotate a bunch of things frequently if we get regular cube sessions off the ground.
I think Sacred Cows are cards that are held to be above criticism. The confusion comes from the fact that the idea of Sacred Cows is typically invoked in cases where someone is debating the status of said Sacred Cows.
With the above in mind, I don't think any of the cards you list qualify for SC status. I think it refers to cards like Wrath of God, Armageddon, Mind Twist and so on. All of which I think are mediocre or worse Cube cards in super high powered Cubes (but I digress).
As an example of changing perceptions, Baneslayer Angel probably once qualified but its day has long past.
As an example of a card that is probably contentious, how about Brimaz, King of Oreskos. My small group just never feels that is where white decks want to be.
I like it because, at worst, it's interesting
I haven't seen many Cubes with Neurok Invismancer in them, making me wonder about Phantom Ninja. Conceptually I like the idea.

Completely agree
I like what you're doing here

There are 19 per color (=95) + 6 Artifacts and then Evolving Wilds
