Welcome back! I think I remember you most distinctly for innovating on the Channel / Lich's Mirror archetype (this is Mogg posting, by the way).
For those who haven't seen it, that was one of the most degenerate hands ever. The most standard build was Black Lotus / Channel (banned) / Lich's Mirror / Pact of Negation (banned) / Rishadan Cutpurse. PHM has developed a bit further since then.
If by innovating you mean 'flailing around trying to find the right win condition for the hand', then yes, I did quite a bit of that. I think Rishadan Cutpurse is a lovely choice that came after my time. I was dinking around with Looter il-Kor and Riftwing Cloudskate if I recall correctly. Anyway it's nice to be remembered. I've submitted a deck for this week that I spent 5 whole minutes thinking about. I expect to be obliterated, but that's half the fun!

You could also start casting squee to block, but every time you do that you pay 3 life to prevent 2 damage. Not a very good deal.
Casting recoil on an attacking spirit costs you 3 life, but prevents 2 damage that turn and 2 damage the next turn, so can be worth it. Recurring Recoil with remembrance and doing the same costs 1 life right away to prevent 1 damage in several turns, so is not a wise move and doesn't buy you any time.

Just to make sure I understand - We're talking about uncommons only - meaning commons are not allowed, right? And something is uncommon as long as at least one set in gatherer lists it as uncommon, even if an earlier or later printing/MTGO set has it as common, rare, or mythic?
I tried several lines of play. With you going first, as long as you save foil for the first time I cast Kodama, you can reanimate and race me. If I just don't cast kodama, you can hardcast Visara and race me.
With me going first... its about the same I think. You foil the first time I try to cast kodama. Then your clock is 5 turns to get me from 20 to zero, but because it takes me 2 turns to get kodama and lotus back,1 turn to cast kodama, and 3 attacks to kill you from 14, you win the race by a turn.

Though I hate to give up the win, I'm pretty sure the bolded turn is wrong. Visara flies, and kodama doesnt have reach. With that extra attack, you should win the race.
Just to make sure I understand - We're talking about uncommons only - meaning commons are not allowed, right? And something is uncommon as long as at least one set in gatherer lists it as uncommon, even if an earlier or later printing/MTGO set has it as common, rare, or mythic?

I tried several lines of play. With you going first, as long as you save foil for the first time I cast Kodama, you can reanimate and race me. If I just don't cast kodama, you can hardcast Visara and race me.
With me going first... its about the same I think. You foil the first time I try to cast kodama. Then your clock is 5 turns to get me from 20 to zero, but because it takes me 2 turns to get kodama and lotus back,1 turn to cast kodama, and 3 attacks to kill you from 14, you win the race by a turn.
