I agree with you on the idea that the Muse was a bit risky at first. There's so much aggro in the format right now that assuming that you're going to out-muscle the other side and make it a quick game is foolish. I put in Tendrils thinking that it was good removal and a way to offset the loss of life. There was one specific time where you were correct about needing the Husk. I was testing against Faeries(results that never made the article) and attempted to smack a nasty faerie with Tendrils to buy more time for myself. The opponent dropped a Scion of Oona and shrugged as he was able to get the damage across. The Muse killed me next turn.
Thanks for the praises on this article, guys. I know that I let some of you down, and I understand your flames. The truth is I did have some really cool matchups ready to bring you with the deck(Yes, Mannequin was one of them during City Champs), but my grandmother fell ill, and I decided to turn in what was available instead of stretching it out to obscurity - which already happened because this was written before Project R existed.
So take into consideration that things went awry for me near the end, and the big match result that everyone asked for didn't exist when this was written.
This thread is for the discussion of my latest article, Kill By Numbers: The Zombie Revival. We would be grateful if you would let us know what you think, but please keep your comments on topic.
Here's what I try to do. I usually fail #1 every time...
1)Get plenty of sleep beforehand
2)Make sure that you at least two hours before playing
3)Have a refreshment on you at all times
4)Don't allow yourself to speed up
These steps will usually net the best play results.
I've been testing mono green Elves for a while now, and I can confirm that B/G Elves are far superior. Even if you have them pumped to no end with Door of Destinies, they simply can't compete with the Elves who pack removal.
Mauler isn't a horrible card. It just certainly isn't the best choice right now. It might get a little better when there's less removal in the meta, but right now it wouldn't do much to frighten anyone. It'd just get big for a moment then get killed.
Welcome to MTGSalvation. I really can't think of any solid way to build a deck that you're describing other than Angel and Djin Illuminati with the red Pact.
I usually build by first getting the idea, second by selecting what cards to use(usually skimming through complete set lists or using the tools on Workstation), third look up prices to see if I can afford it, then testing through Workstation or my local shop. Fortunately, I have good friends who love to test anything and everything with me.
I was a bit skeptical because of the landlock issue, but I watched someone play a Crusher without a problem. It got huge, he got nuts draws, and the guy eventually had to kill it. Then the guy went back to getting land and dropping more burn on his head. It was pretty nasty.
If this guy is causing a scene at the shop, then where is the owner? Why isn't the shop owner doing something about this? You said that this happened during FNM, and they are responsible for ensuring that this doesn't happen during any sanctioned event. I've seen people be asked to leave at Starcity before for acting out of line.
Anyway, if someone acts condescending to me during an event, I fire back with my own because I'm pretty experienced myself. If they criticize my choices during draft or during a game, my reply is simply, "then you've got something to handle it, right?"

It's just as easy to ruin the elitist.
That's another good choice. Countryside Crusher is debatable as well.
Anyway, I'm on the Mutavault bandwagon. Those things are just stupid in Elves.
