I'm not convinced because WotC in these cases specifically avoid to put a mana cost on those tokens exactly because they could be easily mistaken for actual cards (see Embalm that makes copies of tokens but without mana cost).
It's true that any token that is a copy of a permanent copy also the mana cost but is also true that WotC never made tokens that shows this mana costs before. That's why I'm so suspicious of the fact that these tokens are actually castable in the Garth way.
True! But this also isn't an official WotC product. That's what makes me hesitant on the Garth idea.

Maybe something similar but it's not very evocative of cutesy animals though. Creatures dying is more nefarious, more zombie making in nature. Maybe it's like a storm variant like whenever you cast a creature spell you may copy this creature. I really like the idea of the Garth ability though. I think it's a way that they may be able to get some reserved list cards playable without actually going against the reserved list.\
And yeah, a death trigger probably isn't right for the setting, it was mostly just the first thought that came to mind.

I know I’m going to get roasted for this but my question is what does old border have to do with ravnica?

I'm not saying that wotc is beyond intentional leaks I just don't know if this is one. Phyrexia fans are probably going to eat well the next three sets wouldn't it make more sense for them to leak more Brother's War which is coming out in about a month versus a set that doesn't come out until like January? I mean they may want to distract us from the backlash but at the same time they will want our money it just makes more sense that they'd tease a recent set for us to put our money into versus a set down the road.

I don't think so for Lacrosse. Lacrose is a part of the Phyrexia 4 set story narrative. I could be wrong but I think it's more likely that the two sets following Brother's War are going to be on New Phyrexia. The part that kinda confuses me is that Marathon is getting an epilogue set. I have a theory that the epilogue will be called Mirrodin Pure. I don't know if they are going to introduce a new plane amongst this storyline I think it'd make it worse for people who want the wild west set to be in the middle of a big storyline. Imagine them introducing Eldraine in between Ravnica Alliance and War of the Spark it would have taken steam out of both the hype of Eldraine and War of the Spark. So TLDR I don't think they'd introduce this plane until after the Phyrexia war.

That’s what I want to know as well! I’m guessing that if your commander has the choose a background that it begins the game in the command zone, but can they also be in the 99 of regular decks. I’m assuming so cuz nothing about the templating would prevent it. I’m already sold on buying a box of this. I loved AFR and I think this looks awesome so far. I’m hoping that there will be some of the initiative mechanic in mono white because I have a nadaar blink deck that goes through dungeons pretty fast. I’m surprised no one is talking much about Gale. I think his ability to recure spells from the graveyard is pretty strong and I think with all the new adventures there’s some shinanagins he can pull off with them.
Edit: I don’t think Gale plays with adventures the same way as Lier does it looks like that’s an exclusive for him. Gale has a lot of potential though.

They could be the set booster commander cards like Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor. In the bible and pop culture they have also been seen as a fallen angel like creature they could be Angel Nephalim and could be a mix of what we saw in Ravnica and an Angel. "True biblical angels" are kinda a thing on youtube if you follow spooky stuff lol these could be a nod to that too. I think they can also play with set theme and be four color like there could be one costed RGWBand play with mechanics from both the Riviteers and the Caberetti.

Ok to go with your Melkor/Sauron example (which I love it means you are a person of culture). Tolkein actually played with the idea of writing a story about a cult worshipping Sauron invading Gondor from the inside but decided to not write it because he found it "not worth doing". I think why Melkor and Sauron work is because one is an antagonist to the Valar and the free peoples and the other is an antagonist to Middle Earth.
And as for the GRR Martin quote I think it's a reason I don't go for his books. As far as innocence goes anyway. I've never read or watched the tv show but I know enough of the plot that it's not one I would care for.
There are other tropes they can explore though besides Phyrexia. They could have Ob Nixilis be a threat but my guess is he will be a crime lord get beat up by Elspeth and then join phyrexia.

I totally agree with you. It just is a slap in the face on so many levels. First and foremost Tamiyo is the planeswalker who could so easily be the Saga matters planeswalker. And not only that she is a pacifist. I just want to be done with this story so bad wake me up in three years I guess lol.
