Hi, this Sunday I played Skred Dragons on a PPTQ. Basically the default list, cutting 2 Draconic Roar for Abrades and the sideboard completely different:
4 Relic of Progenitus
3 Dragon's Claw
1 Alpine Moon
2 Molten Rain
2 Damping Sphere
1 Anger of the Gods
2 Shattering Spree
R1 - Eldrazy taxes 2-0
Most valuable cards: Anger of the Gods and Skred
On This match TKS was unable to disrupt my hand, containing 2 Skred and 1 Anger of the Gods
The 2nd one I only removed a lot of creatures and won deploying a single dragon
R2 - UW Control1 - 1-2
Most valuable Cards: Sarkhan and Relic Of progenitus
Lost to Gideon Jura, unable to double bolt him, and he won after 4 attacks on both games
R3 - Scapeshift - 2-0
Most valuable Cards: Blood moon won both games
Deployed blood moon, some dragons and gg
R4 - Humans - 2-0
Most valuable Cards: Anger of the Gods, Skred, Blood Moon and Ratchet bomb
Easy match, the removal diversity helps a lot against Meddling Mage
R5 - UB Mill (this was the 1st place swiss) - ID
Then I was at the top8 as 4th
R6 - UW Control2 - 2-0
Most valuable Cards: Sarkhan, Scrying sheets, Chandra Torch and Ratchet bomb
I was able to put early the ratchet bomb to break the PWs, Sarkhan filtered the deck a lot and the Thunderbreak Regents dealed a lot of damage being removed. Finished with Stormbreath both games
R7 - Merfolk
Most valuable Cards: Anger of the Gods, Skred, Ratchet bomb
This match we can't let the Aether Vial work, as he will use open mana to counter our spells and play creatures with Vial.
Obviously I did not have Abrade on hands to avoid that, but the Dragons being flying and a lot of removal give us a faster clock.
On 2nd match he finished with 3 vials on hand, then was out of luck with no real resources to play
Final - UW Control1 - 0-2
Most valuable Cards: Sarkhan and Relic of Progenitus
This time I was able to remove Gideon with Ratchet bomb, but a lot of Cryptic Commands and removals did not allow me to keep a threat in field for more than 2 turns. I was always behind a lot of open mana to respond to anything I would do.
It's not a bad match, I won "easily" the other UW, but on this match I could not.
After playing a lot both Skred versions (Scourge/Koth and now Dragons) I think Dragons is better as we can finish earlier and with all flying creatures. We can't play without at least 3 Relic of Progenitus. The original Dragons sidebord is a mistake.
Draconic Roar seems bad but 2 of them is good. I would play 4 but we can't play without artifact removal main deck otherwise the Aether vial decks outrun our removals. There are also decks using Ensnaring Bridge.
That's it.

fncmtg posted a message on U/x Living As ForetoldPosted in: Deck Creation (Modern)Quote from idutra »Quote from alittlecheeky »While I'm here, I'd like to talk a bit about this deck's place in Modern. I hope this will be helpful to those who are considering picking up the deck and those who are just getting started. Please note that this represents my opinion based on observations and 100+ matches with the deck.
I came across a thread on Reddit that posed the question, "Why has Mono Blue Living End fallen out of favor?" The deck was extremely popular in December 2017 and it has slowly decreased in popularity throughout the year. To that point, here are three potential reasons why:
1) The deck has a legitimately bad humans matchup. According to MTGGoldfish.com, Humans is the most popular deck in Modern with roughly an 8% metagame share. Save drastic main deck decisions and an overloaded sideboard, we have to accept that the combination of disruption and aggression will give our deck a hard time. A fairly stock Living End As Foretold list is probably 20/80 to a stock humans list. You can splash colors or select cards to give yourself 5-10 percentage points in the matchup, but I don't see the matchup getting much better than that. Many people do not want to be that much of an underdog to one of the top decks in Modern, so some may shy away from it for that reason.
2) The deck has a direct fail rate. You can do everything right, have close to the perfect 75 and still lose because all four copies of As Foretold are in the bottom 25% of your deck. This will undoubtedly rub people the wrong way. There is a degree of variance and risk involved with playing this deck that will turn people away from picking it up. We can do things to minimize that variance, of course, but it still remains. I think you have to be OK with the fact that your deck will lose to itself on occasion through no fault of your own. This is the tradeoff we make for having access to some of the most powerful, explosive effects in the format.
Along this point, I want to stress that no deck in Modern is perfect. Our fail rate is based around finding As Foretold, but Boggles fails if they don't have any Boggles. Burn fails if it draws too many or too few lands. KCI combo fails without KCI. Affinity is an aggro deck that plays 10 0 or 1-power creatures. Every deck has its weaknesses. It's just a question of which weakness you're willing to take on and how easy you can minimize that weakness and maximize the deck's strengths.
3) The deck is difficult to build and play. People may roll their eyes on this one, but I think the point holds true. I don't think anyone can just pick this deck up and start winning with it right away. Assuming you have a decent build, you have to know which cards to bring in from the sideboard, which ones to take out, when to cast your creatures, how to play certain matchups and how to play around graveyard hate. While every deck in Modern has its own element of complexity, remember that this deck is only 6 months old and we haven't had a viable combo/control deck in Modern since Spliter Twin. I imagine that many people picked up this deck, had a rough experience, and wrote it off as unplayable.
I wouldn't be posting on this forum or playing the deck if it ended there. I'd like to offer the other side of the issue and list three reasons why I think more people should be playing this deck:
1) The deck matches up well against the rest of the Modern field. Save humans and maybe a few other hyper aggressive decks like burn, I truly believe that the deck is 50/50 or better against the majority of decks in Modern. We have outstanding matchups against control variants, midrange creature decks and other combo decks. Storm, Lantern, Tron and Boggles are all good to great matchups depending on sideboard configurations. The deck combines a fast, proactive gameplan with countermagic and other disruption which makes it good against a large percentage of the field. The additional percentage points gained by LEAF from being a rouge deck are icing on the cake.
2) The deck is legitimately powerful and disruptive. Card advantage matters in Magic and this deck generates more card advantage than any other deck in Modern. Treasure Cruise is banned in Modern and it wasn't that long ago that Ancestral Vision was banned too. Our deck takes full advantage of a bannable effect and it does so in a way that somehow makes that effect better by tutoring for it and generating it for free. The deck plays more counter magic than any other deck in Modern and it has combination of resilient and evasive threats to close the game out quickly. On a raw power scale, the base of this deck is as good as it gets.
3) The deck is a blast to play. Regardless of whether you pick the deck up to hone it or jam games at FNM, the deck is very enjoyable to play and to play against. It's unique and it's fun to watch. The intricate counter magic/gameplay and power appeals to Spike. The combo and novelty appeals to Johnny. Beating down with big creatures likely appeals to Timmy. I think I've enjoyed learning this deck and playing games with it more than I have for any other deck.
Share the list you're using with us?
So I played this deck a few weeks ago and I just wished there were more consistent ways to get a living end and wanted more cycle creatures. I know there is no reason to play temur colors, you either do mono blue or just jund living end but I want to play with as foretold lol. I know this deck isn't as effcient but I did have some luck play testing it. I went 4-0 vs jund rock which was awesome.

Since the Electrodominance came along, I was once again thrilled to play with the deck I love so much.
I started with Gabriel Nassif's build [LIST LINK] in the local championship and I was 2-2, I did not like the list, and I started to mine, until I found the list of Hayseed [LIST LINK], which caught my attention, and with it I played 3x leagues in MOL (friendly) and ended up doing respectively:
5-0
5-0
2-3
After that I felt lack of removal in area like: (Anger of the Gods or Ratchet Bomb), and I ended up getting the list below:
4 Striped Riverwinder
4 Curator of Mysteries
4 Desert Cerodon
1 Vendilion Clique
1 Nimble Obstructionist
Spells (22)
4 Electrodominance
4 Remand
4 Ancestral Vision
4 Living End
3 Izzet Charm
3 Cryptic Command
4 As Foretold
Artifacts (1)
1 Tormod's Crypt
Lands (19)
2 Tolaria West
2 Mountain
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Island
4 Spirebluff Canal
3 Steam Vents
2 Chalice of the Void
2 Blood Moon
2 Anger of the Gods
2 Negate
3 Dragon's Claw
2 Abrade
1 Echoing Truth
1 Tormod's Crypt
With this list in the last 2 local championships I did respectively:
2-0 MonoR Burn: G1 was always with great emotions, I got in t2 to take his creatures and beating with a creature 6/4 and canceling some magic, G2 solved a 1 Chalice of the Void and 1 Dragon's Claw and the game was quiet.
2-1 MonoG Tron: G1 was quiet, I returned in T3 beating 16, gave 2x attacks and finished. G2 he managed to win me because I could not generate many threats (he did 2x Relic of Progenitus and with time was difficult to deal with TRON, in G3 we both came with GOD HAND, he broke into T3 and did Karn, but in T1 and T2 I had already done 2x 6/4 creatures and 1x 4/4 creature, when he tried to exile my land with Karn I cycled another 4/4 creature and solved the Living End on the right turn 20.
1-1 U/W Control: We wrestled because I ended up playing the G1 wrong and he ended up winning the match, in G2 I won after solving a Blood Moon, G3 did not manage to win in time because he ended up doing a Rest In Peace in t4 where I tried back with Living End in response and he did a Surgical Extraction and exiled 2x Creatures from the grave.
1-1 BG Rock: We had a lot of draws too, opponent played very slow, and made all possible threats, I did not win because I played wrong again and I was punished with it.
Already last Tuesday I made the result 3-1, being:
2-0 BG Rock: The matches were well tense, as he in all solved 3x Ooze, however, I managed to get around and resolved with Electrodominance for 8 2x.
2-0 MonoG Tron: It was pretty easy, as he did a forest on t1, on t2 I already came back with a 6/4 threat that hit 3x, and I ended up with Eletrodimance damage.
2-0 Jeskai Control: Quiet match, G1 removed the counter he had with Vendillion, and came back with many threats, in G2 he zicou in 2x terrain, and after reslvering a Living End he conceded.
0-2 Grixis Shadow: G1 It was very complicated, it came very strong and managed to finish me with Death Shadow, canceling my Eletrodominance that would reslver the game. G2 It was more "gentle" however, he managed to remove the Living End from my hand, download a Death Shadow and a Gurmag, I made a chalice for 1 soon after, I bought and cycled full (counting that it was already clocked) and found 3 Electrodominance and no Living End, I ended up losing.
I'm going to GP SP (BR), so far I'm between playing Dredge or UR Phoenix, I still did not have the guts to board the As Foretold kkkk
In short, the deck got much stronger, I feel that 4 chalice would be interesting, I'll modify my side to add 2 ratchet bombs and report back to you as I left.

Last Tuesday we had the last round of the local league, I chose to play with the version Skred Eternal, where I made 4-1 (losing the last round to a MonoG Tron that was 3-0-1), follows below a little about the matches:
List:
1 Scrying Sheets
20 Snow-Covered Mountain
Creatures (9)
2 Eternal Scourge
1 Hazoret the Fervent
3 Pia and Kiran Nalaar
3 Stormbreath Dragon
Spells (13)
3 Anger of the Gods
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Magma Jet
4 Skred
3 Blood Moon
2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance
3 Koth of the Hammer
4 Mind Stone
1 Ratchet Bomb
3 Relic of Progenitus
3 Molten Rain
3 Damping Sphere
2 Goblin Rabblemaster
2 Ratchet Bomb
2 Smash to Smithereens
1 By Force
1 Batterskull
1 Crumble to Dust
(2-1) Jund: The G1 was very easy, I managed to solve a Blood Moon that left him locked, I removed the Tarmogoyf with 1x Skred + 1x Lightning Bolt, and 1x Anger of the Gods cleared the other creatures x/3--; G2 when trying to finalize a Tarmogoyf, and ended up being finalized by him that stayed 6/7; G3 was practically a copy of the G1, my opponent did 1x Tarmogoyf 4/5 that I removed with the combination of Skred + Lightning Bolt, on the return I made a Blood Moon and he could not draw any basic terrain.
(2-0) Burn: At the option of my goal, I do not use side for BURN, as they are rare in our environment. I came quite aggressive, and I managed to finish it before.
(2-1) BG Elves: G1 lost because I could not deal in time with the creatures that were placed in the field G2 and G3 came with many removals and I managed to clear his field every time, I ended up with Koth of the Hammer and Chandra, Torch of Defiance.
(2-1) Ponza: That was the guy I lost last Saturday, I started missing the G1 because he drew 3x Bloodbraid Elf and I could not clean his body very fast; G2 and G3 It was very complicated, but I managed to deal with the threats (Land Destruction and Creatures) and managed to finish winning the match.
(0-2) MonoG TRON: This shot is the worst match, because I have a lot of dead cards, G1 I had to mulligan for 5, I could not stop the TRON, G2 was with a strong hand 2x Land, 2x Molten Rain, 2x Blood Moon, 1x Crumble to Dust, being in play, I knew I would be able to deal quietly (I would need to buy some WINCON only), but in the following 3x turns I bought Koth, Koth, Chandra, and it was time enough for my opponent to make a KARN and UGIN: '(
Anyway, that was the way I went, I believe that the more I play with the deck, the sharper I'll be with it ...
I would like suggestions on how to deal with MonoG TRON, we will have a special event next week, and I am paired right against this MonoG TRON that won me the last round;
I need to play more with the deck in order to be able to measure whether or not I have a good performance with him, so far I have a use of 58.33% in 18 games played.

This weekend, I played with the eternal list, and I had the following income:
(2-1) UG Polymorph: I lost the g1 for not knowing how the opposing deck worked, and for not having solved a Blood Moon fast enough.
G2 and G3 were very easy.
(2-1) UW Miracle: The G1 was very controversial for both sides, but he solved 2x Jace, the Mind Sculptor, while I was exiling the grave of him to Search for Azcanta not flip, anyway ... He lowered the teferi and was very complicated, In the g2 was very fierce, but he had only 1x basic terrain, after trying to make the Stormbreath Dragon (which was canceled), he was covered and I was able to play the Blood Moon that solved the match.
The g3 was another easy game, I started by destroying his basic land, and soon after I solved aBlood Moon, he did not pass the 2nd land, the Goblin Rabblemaster did the rest of the service
(0-2) Ponza (This match was ridiculous): The G1 was very difficult, because he could not gather enough mana to lower the creatures / pw, he did 3x Bloodbraid Elf in a row, revealing Land Destruction and Scavenging Ooze, not being able to find any Anger of the Gods to be able to prolong the game in my favor.
G2 (Here the stupid thing decided): This game was well disputed, but over time I was able to solve things, I managed to respond to all his animals, except the 1x Kitchen Finks that IN MY HEAD HAD FLY, that is, I had 1x Pia and Kiran Nalaar in game and as in my head the Kitchen Finks had fly, he solamente me taking 2x PW and reducing my hit points to 4, as soon as this he made a titan that defined the match (that was already to have games). Honestly, this is the second time that my mind tricks me, I do not know why, but every time I see Kitchen Finks in play, I assume that it has FLY, anyway, I hope I have learned it once and for all.
(1-0) MonoU Tron: I honestly was 1-0 for the monoU tron ??when I decided to concede, I was stressed and tired, and the match is very boring.
Anyway, that was my trajectory with the eternal list, I honestly think it is stronger and more consistent than the dragon, but Sarkhan, Fireblood is a differential in the list of dragons, I will continue to play a little more with the eternal list and ponder my results.
Here is the list I used:
1 Mouth of Ronom
1 Scrying Sheets
20 Snow-Covered Mountain
Creatures (9)
2 Eternal Scourge
1 Hazoret the Fervent
3 Pia and Kiran Nalaar
3 Stormbreath Dragon
Spells (12)
3 Anger of the Gods
4 Lightning Bolt
1 Roast
4 Skred
3 Blood Moon
1 Chandra, Torch of Defiance
3 Koth of the Hammer
4 Mind Stone
1 Ratchet Bomb
4 Relic of Progenitus
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Goblin Rabblemaster
3 Molten Rain
2 Ratchet Bomb
1 Shatterstorm
2 By Force
2 Boil
2 Damping Sphere
1 Batterskull
1
The list used was:
4 Striped Riverwinder
4 Curator of Mysteries
3 Street Wraith
1 Vendilion Clique
3 Nimble Obstructionist
Spells (20)
4 Remand
4 Ancestral Vision
3 Cryptic Command
3 Living End
1 Disallow
2 Mana Leak
2 Spell Pierce
1 Supreme Will
4 As Foretold
Artifacts (1)
1 Engineered Explosives
Lands (20)
3 Field of Ruin
10 Island
4 Tolaria West
1 Bojuka Bog
1 Sunken Ruins
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Ratchet Bomb
1 Hurkyl's Recall
1 Engineered Explosives
2 Dispel
2 Dismember
3 Damping Sphere
2 Ceremonious Rejection
2 Sorcerous Spyglass
Where I had the following results:
(0-1) UW Miracle: This match was very complicated, because in t3 I was able to solve a Living End with 4 creatures in the grave, which would total 16 damage, but my opponent found a Terminus with a miracle.
In short he reached 2 hit points and managed to turn.
(2-0) Storm: Very easy with side.
(2-1) Ponza: Very easy.
(1-2) RG Eldrazi: The first game I won after resolving a Living End. The second game, I lost, as I ended up keeping a "weak" hand. The surprise came in the third game, I never expected that my opponent would have Choke on the side, and on t3 he lowered, and made t4 Smah and t5 Smash, I could not get back in time.
Anyway, this is my current trajectory.
I'm starting to calculate the number of games I've already had with the deck so that I can briefly measure the%
Hugs!

3rd Place at SCG Modern IQ Columbia.

4 Curator of Mysteries
3 Street Wraith
4 Striped Riverwinder
Spells (19)
4 Ancestral Vision
4 Living End
2 Mana Leak
4 Remand
2 Supreme Will
3 Cryptic Command
1 Tormod's Crypt
Enchantments (4)
4 As Foretold
Lands (21)
1 Bojuka Bog
3 Field of Ruin
12 Island
4 Tolaria West
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Tormod's Crypt

So I still insist on playing the mono-U version.
I made 4-0 in the FNM today, being that the matches were against respectively:
I used the following list:
4 Street Wraith
4 Striped Riverwinder
4 Curator of Mysteries
1 Vendilion Clique
1 Nimble Obstructionist
Spells (21)
4 Remand
3 Cryptic Command
2 Disallow
2 Mana Leak
3 Living End
2 Spell Pierce
4 Ancestral Vision
1 Supreme Will
4 As Foretold
Artifacts (1)
1 Ratchet Bomb
Lands (21)
4 Field of Ruin
10 Island
1 Bojuka Bog
4 Tolaria West
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Ratchet Bomb
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Dispel
2 Dismember
4 Leyline of Sanctity
2 Ceremonious Rejection
2 Hurkyl's Recall
2 Nimble Obstructionist
So I chose to use Spell Pierce instead of Spell Snare, because Spell Snare is very situational, excellent against drop 2, but Spell Pierce was much more useful as I was able to deal with spells in turn 1 such as: Discard ( Inquisition of Kozilek or Thoughtseize; Destruction of Land (PONZA)).
Also I put 1 Ratchet Bomb, to be able to deal with threats of cost 1 and cost 2.
The Vendillion Clique, was excellent, because it gave me besides another creature to play in the pass of the opponent's turn, still carry out that situational removal, I found very good, and it puts a lot of pressure.
I'm still using Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. To be able to deal with the lack of As Foretold. Last week I took a Slaughter Games at As Foretold that left me with Living End standing in my hand. In addition he also activates the Street Wraith Swampwalk
I'm still thinking about a build with white, to take more advantage of Leyline of Sanctity and use Path to Exile.
What did you think?
