My current list post MH. I am currently 8-1 in matches with this list and it feels great.

As for the blue splash it’s just not viable and you would be changing the whole archetype and curve of the deck. There are plenty of successful esper lists like thopter swords or gifts combo, but Gideon tribal or superfriends doesn’t seem very viable in those colors.

I will just flat out say LOTV in the Gideon’s build is horrible. more than half the time her +1 just feels completely horrible so she ends up being a 3cmc edict. The games where her ultimate win you the game you are already way ahead. She’s alright in smallpox build Spend some time in the earlier pages and there’s tons of comments on testing and results with her. I’ve considered discovery/dispersal for a while because it synergizes with souls and I plan to test it. Liliana the last hope on the other hand is a great magic card and I would run her in this list before I touched a LOTV. I will say that shalia has also been nice deck tech in the side. I am also iffy on gideon Jura, he is just too slow and clunky.

i've been putting in alot of hours too. I went back up to 4 ally, it felt so much more relevant to draw extra Gideon ally's than other PW. In a situation where he sticks you most likely are already pulling ahead, if he dies dropping another one feels way better than a sorin etc.
I also really like surgicals in the side, they are really a must imo. I've also gone up to two disenchants and down to two dampening spheres.

    My current list

What i'm saying is we aren't worried about a resolved tefferi. If they resolve a teferi when we already have a gideon ally or sorin on board, I'm more than happy to watch my opponent -3 to bounce and watch teferi die to the token or a vent the next turn. No deck in modern is going to beat the planeswalker race against us, because we play the most active/value generating planeswalker threats in modern with token generation and chads. Its the same thing with karn, if they want to resolve a karn and -3 on gideon, thats fine because karn most likely dies (its o stone or all is dust that is what we really worry about and make the match almost unwinnable). In respect to the goyf, we already run several cheap removal spells, killing creatures with cheap removal and generating value from PW is what we do. In respects to anguish, yeah i can see the closer comparison to that card, some lists aren't even playing that card or it has dropped to a 1 of in the SB, as celestial purge or disenchant may be more relevant in the format for the same reasons.

So if you're only reason to play a cast out over a card like disenchant or push is to beat a resolved planeswalker, you're already doing something your deck is very good at doing. Hate card slots should be saved for something like hitting early threats (leylines, ensnaring bridges, phyrexian unlife, lantern etc.) that don't allow us to win the game or stop our opponents from winning by turn 3-4. If you draw that cast out turns 1-3 sure you can cycle it, but in a matchup like humans, jund, affinity etc. you're gonna really wish it was a path or push.

I honestly think the card is okay and I would consider testing it, but there are just overall better cards for the slot it would take in the deck.

In a format like modern you have to play around winning not losing. Cast out is too slow imo. Ide rather have a early low cost removal spell like fatal push and be able to resolve a gideon turn 4, rather than hold up mana for cast out turn 4 or later. No deck in modern will beat the planeswalker race against us and tron is just a really bad matchup against decks like us regardless and you shouldn’t sculpt around them for game 1. On that note exiling a Karn usually won’t do it for you as tron does what tron does with more than just Karn. Resolving something like gideon ally early is what we need do to do to win. I get the card filter may seem good but I don’t think it’s worth it over other options.

I would consider cast out as a sideboard card against decks like UW and UWX control decks, tron, or lantern, but in retrospect disenchant is a much better card for the slot because it hits all the relevant cards (detention sphere, leyline of sanctity, ensnaring bridge, affinity phyrexian unlife etc.) and its a 2cmc instant speed spell. This lets us have earlier access and have to hold up 4 mana.

An alternative non instant speed but great removal would be oblivion ring, but I would recommend disenchant in the slot.

so i've been piloting this deck for a few weeks now and have mostly faced other miderange and control decks.
I am currently gonna start piloting more disenchants and i'm gonna try Underworld Connectionsas well as maybe phyrexian arena over the coming weeks

Anyone else try out Cast Out? I'm finding my self really enjoying 3. Cycle is useful in this deck and the instant exile speed is nice when you're dealing with artifacts or Planeswalkers.

I'm not a fan of it, as modern is a quick format. There are much better exile enchantment effects in white that do the same thing for 2-3 mana

over the past two FNM went 6-1-1 (3-0-1 and 3-1-0). My thoughts on the matchups which were mostly (Jund, Mardu pyro, and other control based decks aside from 1 humans and 1 affinity matchup)is that Sorin, Lord of Innistrad has been a powerhouse especially in grindy postboard matchups with Arguel's Blood Fast The ability to gain alot of life and stabilize from vampires, vents, and vault of archangel procs and then just draw a bunch of cards off of bloodfast really closed out my grindy or control matchups. I'm thinking of going up to two in the sideboard and even trying one mainboard. I am also going to be testing phyrexian arena in upcoming FNM matches.

Also is anyone still running ob nixilis reignited in their decks? I'm currently still on a 1 of in the deck and it was a powerhouse against my humans match up tonight with it hitting the board and killing a mantis rider and then drawing me into finishers.

If you were going to play an Arguel's in the main, what would you take out? A Fatal Push or Damnation?

Yeah would go down a fatal push, I currently only run 4 wrath effects mainboard and i think that the 4 are needed

seems very winmore. A 5/5 indestructible is powerful as is and if your opponent has the answers, then a 8/8 flying is just gonna eat a path and now your opponent got 2 for 1. I've been testing Sorin pretty hard and he is a powerhouse. his stackable emblems just destroy with lifelink tokens, spirits, knights, and vents

It is a problem with the deck. Sideboard arguels bloodfast for grindy matchups, otherwise stacking the deck with cards that aren’t bad topdecks is the best option. I’ve thought of trying phyrexian arena
