So am I the only one bothered that Jace sounds a lot more....reserved than he did in the RIX ending story? No "Gideon, I'm not dead!", no laughing, no landing on what's presumably a fungus/saproling. I was willing to accept the continuity issue with where he ended up in the ship, and I'd even be willing to dismiss the possible timing issues, but Jace is just off-putting to me here.
No you aren't the only one bothered by it. Seeing Jace's clumsy and touching arrival on the Weatherlight now brutally different makes me sigh like Karn.

On a more positive note...I like Karn a lot.
and I still dont get why Teferi would not want his spark back immediately, especially since it got resolved so quickly. Again the reason seems to be simply to make Jhoira not look like the worst person ever for failing to mention this earlier since again it seems she has had it since he lost it or close to it.
Yes, that too. It makes no sense for him not wanting his spark back. He needs it to take Zhalfir back.

a tall well-built older man with short graying hair
    I was expecting this

version of Teferi in this story...

    ...not this

I know it's a minor detail, but why commissioning a character's artwork in a certain way if you're ignoring it in the story? If his aspect before the return of his spark is with long hair and beard, then use that.

Anyway...I like Idris Elba (unfortunately not in all Dominaria's art Teferi looks like him XD), but the "old sage" starting version in my opinion would have been much better Kekeke

Oddly enough, the least assy oldwalker in the stories as of late has been Nahiri. I mean, sure she tried to Emrakul an entire freaking plane, but outside of her feud with Sorin, she seems reasonably nice.

"Reasonably nice"? She doomed an entire plane because of her feud with one single guy. To me now she is totally in the "crazy oldwalker" camp.

I very clearly said "outside of that"
Yes but it's a very big thing to set aside...you can be the best person in the world, but after genocide it's hard to still think of you as good. Her previous self was surely relatable, I suppose when you live long enough (and pass a lot of time imprisoned) you can became not that sane, like a lot of oldwalkers demonstrate.

Sorin too didn't seem so bad...he killed some people for feeding, never felt particulary guilty for something, but it was in a gray moral area and quite a rational dude. Then they changed the character because the change was needed for the story (I suppose) and he trow the rationale in the bin. Of course he was quite an egoistical individual. "My plane first, and then the others". However understandable.

Maybe Jaya also is a good Oldwalker alive aside Karn and the sparkless Teferi? Ugin to me seemed worst than Sorin for example. And like I said I don't have much hope for Azor either.

Other oldwalkers still alive that are not Bolas, Lily, Ob, or the others aforementioned?

Also...hi guys Kekeke long time lurker first time poster (in this section). I love Magic lore too <3

I hoped at least Azor would be a nice guy...for a change. I can still hope, but not that much.

Is Karn literally the only still-living oldwalker we have that may actually not be a **** at this point?

    Probably :-(

I created an account just to reply with photos (never did that even to post in the lore section...that's how much I love Dragon Shield XD):

I appreciate the effort you took for this. I did end up buying some clear dragonshields a while back, but I bought the non matte versions. I'm using them for my cube tokens so shuffle feel and the like shouldn't be an issue! Thanks again for the pictures Smile

You're welcome, I'm glad I could help Kekeke

I know I may be a Dragon Shield fanboy but I can't recommend this sleeves enough.

I tried KMC for my two (rarely used) Yu-gi-oh! decks (matte clear here too), and I plan to try Ecplise for tokens (or for the two Duel Masters decks I have if they do a clear version of the sleeves), but I think Dragon Shield will always be my favorite, and I hope the brand will last.

    Not a popular thread I see...regardless:

Hi, I'm Carlo, from Italy Kekeke

32 years old, I play Magic casually since 2000.

My first Magic product was Portal Second Age and then Starter 2000 (<3 you Rhox). Since then I buy at least a booster pack every normal set, and sometimes from special sets too (like with Unstable or Iconic Masters)...and a lot of singles for my decks of course.

In store for now I played only the Amonkhet and Ixalan prereleases, but I look forward for Dominaria and the nostalgia of the time of my beginning Grin

The thing I love the most in Magic (aside deckbuiling and playing) is the lore (and then the art)!

Nice to meet you all, I will be on this forum from time to time Kekeke

Has anyone used the Dragonshield Clear Matte sleeves? If so does anyone have any photos of how the backs look with the clear matte finish?

I know the photo gallery "shows" them, but I also know most of those online albums are made to look as good as possible.

I created an account just to reply with photos (never did that even to post in the lore section...that's how much I love Dragon Shield XD):

    Single sleeved:

Double sleeved (with Dragon Shield perfect fit clear on the inside):

The images don't do the sleeves justice (and my smartphone's cam is not that good), the back is clearly visible, simply the matte finish is noticeable. Double sleeved cards' back is a little less visible but not so much. Personally I like Magic cards' back and I think I will continue to double sleeve this way all of my decks (even the pauper ones).

The only problem with dragon shield (at least if you double sleeve) is the deck thickness, even a 60 cards deck has become a little hard to shuffle. But who cares...they're indestructible.
