Yeah I've never quite understood classifying hybrid cards as guild cards. Sure, there might not be a critical mass of cubeable hybrid cards to build-out a section for them, but one day there will be. Hybrid cards work on a completely different axis- they have effects that two colors both share and could do on their own- multicolored cards often do something, or two things together, that each of the colors can't do alone. So it doesn't make sense (to me) to have kitchen finks and voice of resurgence contending for the last spot in your green white section- one card is green white, the other is green OR white.
Personally, I DO add organize split cards with the corresponding guild section, but I count them as a different thing, and try to account for their flexibility in different ways. I've never felt that cutting real multicolored cards for split cards in the name of simplified classification and organization is the right thing to do.
Coolest looking sword? I don't have many planeswalkers so this would be a silver-bullet sword in mine. But I could see it getting there in most cubes with a healthy amount of walkers. Oddly the abilities seem best suited for taking out a blue-white strategy, but either way this will really poop on the right control decks.
There is not enough cubeable cards with proliferate, and it is such a fun ability, so I'm happy to see it tacked on a good card like a sword. For me, its an easy include over War and Peace which I was running- that card has never served it up in the grindy games where you need a sword to be good.
Interesting. The extra toughness plus colorless.. spicy but Mom protecting herself just gives her so much play, she can do so many tricks, and feels so good to untap with. This card, not so much, it can just die. Also, never felt mom was a card I need more of, its great in white creature decks but nothing else.
Ugh this card is really testing my sense of cube "verisimilitude". Out of all the snow-centric cards, including scrying sheets, this seems like the first easy auto-include of the bunch. Yet spending hundreds replacing all my lands with snow-covered for just this card seems like borderline insanity when you can just say"all your basics are snow-covered", yet I'm always against underwriting cards with invisible rules and erratas. Think I just won't add it. Sucks.
It's kinda crazy how a 3/2 for 1G with two upsides isn't good enough anymore. This card would have been an easy include when I first made my cube.
Completely agree. Its funny. That being said I would rather player Strangleroot Geist, Sylvan Advocate, or Scooze over this, and the mana dork bears have to stay, so I'm guessing he'll find a home plummeting away fliers in my battle box, and he'll get the love he deserves there.
Hm, I guess I will reconsider the Braids. If I ever get the rare 8 person draft she usually sees play, but not as often as I would like. Smokestack is only a recent addition for me so I need to let the archetype breathe a little.
Rummaging through my cube to sort and re-document it, and apparently I still run Bloodline Keeper, so I think it will be him, although he was always a favorite of the newer drafters. Looking through some lists on these forums and he is nowhere to be seen.
I'm cutting my braids for this. She never gets drafted and even when she does, its not like she is fun to play against. Will probably end up cutting Nekrataal or Skinrender down the line though, having three copies of practically the same card is not something I'm over-the-moon about.
I like this one. Really keeps the opponent on the backfoot, like a galepowder mage lite.
Blue doesn't have too many exciting two drops, so I can see this squeezing into most cubes.
Just imagine in UR tempo being able to frog their wurmcoil engine and zap it away with a
firebolt or something. MMmmm.
