My brother has played magic for 20+ years. He plays casually as well as in tournaments. That said, about 2 years ago someone stole his collection of cards when they broke into his house (a collection that took him 20 years to make ).
I want to get him a cool card for Christmas. I bought him some shields and then a random pack of 100 rare cards. The idea is to put the cards inside of the shields, and then the shields in the box. (So it looks like he just got shields from me, then he opens the shields box and sees cards.) But I also want to get him a really nice card- worth $100-$150. So then when he is going through the not so awesome cards, he gets super jazzed to find that one in the deck.
That is where I need your help. I have no idea what card to get him. What I know is that he asked for Commander cards last year and the Merfolks vs Goblins this year. With that info, would you be able to tell me which card I should get him? I noticed that he shared a post for the Imperial Seal foil card to try and win that- but it looks like it is a restricted card, so I wasn't sure if I should get him that.
