Any chance Bedlam Reveler is viable as 2 copies in the sideboard?

I know we have been off of Atarka's Command ever since Fatal Push has been printed, but is it still viable to play it? I love the card, and I would hope that the card is just a preference choice rather than it being worse for the deck.

I mentioned it a while back. It's probably good to have 2 copies in the sideboard or something. The reason I like having a card like this is that it's always good to have some generic burn spells in the sideboard when I sideboard other things (like Searing Blaze) and I have nothing else to side in. Also, so people have been running it over Skullcrack, but you probably need to go up to 2 copies of Stomping Ground.

With GP Birmingham a few weeks away I'm thinking about my sideboard as I'm doing the Constructed Fanatic Package again!
Currently I'm running the following in a straight Boros build:
    3xSearing Blood
    2xPath to Exile
    2xRest in Peace
    2xDeflecting Palm
    2xKor Firewalker
    2xSmash to Smithereens
    Shattering Spree
    Grafdigger's Cage

I'm considering 2xExquisite Firecraft but wonder how necessary it actually is, as I don't expect too many Control decks in the side events.

Secondly, would you bring in Kor Firewalker vs Mardu Pyromancer? It blanks half their removal and gains you lots of life...

I think you're running too many copies of Searing Blood. Personally, I prefer Grim Lavamancer. Grafdigger's Cage seems unnecessary if you already run 2 copies of Rest in Peace. Cutting one cage and one searing effect for two Exquisite Firecraft seems to be where you want to be. Exquisite Firecraft also works against Eldrazi Tron (which gives you another way to play through double Chalice of the Void) and Death's Shadow (which finishes them off of their already low life total without them being able to stabilize with Stubborn Denial). This sounds weird but there was a discussion about it a while ago and that's what people said to run.

Kor Firewalker seems good against Mardu, since they only have 2 copies of Fatal Push. I've never considered it, but it seems like a smart thing to do. since it also blocks their threats too.

Has anyone considered playing a wizard version of the deck, thanks to Wizard's Lightning and Wizard's Retort? You could add Grim Lavamancer, Spellstutter Sprite, and Vendilion Clique to the many wizards that are already in the deck. There isn't a huge upside to running the wizards tribal, but there isn't much of a downside either.

Hey guys. I've been playing Modern for a while with my Burn deck, and I like it, but I find that the games with it are far too short. At the end of a 50 minute round, I would often find myself with 30 minutes and nothing else to do. After four rounds every week, it adds up. For this reason, I want to build a much grindier or controlling deck for FNMs.
I have no color preference, but I do want something that will interact with my opponent. My budget is 500$ or less, but I already own some cards like lots of red fetches from Burn and 2 copies of Thoughtseize from way back when it was in standard. My initial thought was building Mardu Pyromancer, but I don't know if I could fit all the cards that I'm missing into my budget.
Please tell me what deck I could play or what budget cuts I could make to fit Mardu Pyromancer under the 500$ price range given the cards I own. Thanks so much!

For Sylvan Scying you need a ramp deck, so this would probably better suit the Primeval Titan decks.

I was talking about Sylvan Awakening, a very different card (new from Dominaria). I think it's a Groundbreaker at the least and makes use of land flood.

They don't untap when you cast it, so you need a lot of extra mana beyond the lands you want to attack with.

Ok thanks I guess I assumed they untap. Clearly it's unplayable then. My bad.

The only reason we would need a lifegain effect over raw stats is against Burn, but I consider that to be a pretty favorable matchup anyways if you manage your life total well and protect your creatures by always having a pump spell at the ready. Once you defend yourself against the initial onslaught of Burn spells, the raw value of your creatures will run them over. Of course, this matchup is easier in lists that run Dromoka's Command, but mono-colored lists don't take damage from lands, so there are advantages to both lists. Either way, post-board Feed the Clan should guarantee the win anyways.

Sylvan Awakening seems like it could get some play. Maybe a few copies in the sideboard where we need to be extra explosive.

So I tried this deck because I thought it'd be fun, and a challenge, but for the life of me I couldn't get the lack of lands to work. Especially post-board, where the combo gets trickier if you're up against a faster deck. Adding lands is always good - this deck doesn't want lands though.

That was when it hit me. We already have a Gifts Ungiven for lands!

It doesn't have the velocity of some of these other cool lists, but it's felt durable in some of my matches. A single Realms will burn through your library pretty quick after the rampant growth effects, especially if you manage to hit mostly fetches. The looting effects are counterintuitive: other than Loam, you're not really pitching for value but it's kind of like Snapcaster in a delve deck - the synergy works in spite of the mechanics, mainly because you end up with various dead cards at some point (Chancellor, extra Blood Moons, a growth without a target, etc).

It's obviously not perfect, but I didn't like having a sideboard I barely had access to, and I like the feel of being able to do multiple things early (either early Reveler beatdown, the soft lock of blood moon, or just charbelcher) without sacrificing the potency.

I understand that you're using these shocks for Gifts, but consider playing a couple copies of Snow-Covered Forest. It's the exact same card as basic land, it's easier to tutor than your fetches. It's what Storm does, even though they never use it.

If you're using more than 7 Forests, have you considered Serum Powder? I'm under the impression that this card is very good for all-in combo decks, and this is basically as all-in as you can get.

Those decks are pretty hard to sideboard against because they don't have a single specific strategy, they're just a value deck. I think you should minimize sideboarding against them, but a few Path over Searing Blaze is where I want to be. Graveyard hate is pretty good too. Playing it won't win you the game instantly, but many of the cards that will give them a chance of beating you are hosed from it (Scavenging Ooze, Kitchen Finks...). For this reason, I might not bring in graveyard hate because it slows down your opponent, but it slows you down too.

There are a few cards that I would like to revisit. The first one is Atarka's Command. I'm proposing 2 copies in the sideboard as an additional plain burn spell. There are matchups where we have more to side out than more to side in. We're using the green mana anyways if you're already running a copy of Stomping Ground. It's a decent burn spell which can stop lifegain or do more than 3 damage. Its downside is that we have another color to fetch, so that's tough.
The other card I wanted to reconsider would be Shrine of Burning Rage. 2 copies in the sideboard against control and stuff seems to make sense, but I guess I already know what elconquistador's going to say: our best tool against control is sequencing our burn spells properly. And he's right.
These cards are not played much in burn sideboards, but I just want to reconfirm if they shouldn't be played.

Personaly, I think it's too weak. You're supposed to choose one, naturalize or get a good creature. Thrashing Brontodon is not the kind of card you want to be sacrificing. If you want to attach a naturalize effect to a creature, try Manglehorn. I like Manglehorn in some matchups, but I'm sure some people here will tell you that even that is a bad card, which might be the case.

EDIT: Okay yeah someone already covered it.

If we include manadorks I support a build with Smuggler's Copter. It gives something for the dorks to do in the late game, and it lets us topdeck better if we're looting every turn. So yeah, the manadorks would replace Experiment One to avoid anti-synergistic combinations of cards. I don't know who said it, but it would make us like the Death and Taxes build using Smuggler's Copter.

So is this card replacing Leatherback Baloth or Kalonian Tusker? It seems that we now have many options in the 3-drop slot (Rhonas the Indomitable being another). Should we consider playing mana dorks now? Nevertheless, our mana curve is going to change with this printing.

I like the pseud-trample this card has too.
