first "real" kiss (not just kids fooling around) was freshman year of college with a girl who I dated for a few weeks. First time I had sex was with my current girlfriend when I was 20. We've been dating for two years now come October
From what I've read there are currently no drug tests that can accurately detect bath salts. It's weird that this hasn't been mentioned in the coverage of the Florida face-eating incident.
Fog bank this late is a definite signal if you are drafting with experienced players. I'm not suggesting that we switch colors, but it is by far the most powerful card in the pack and it is a huge headache for this deck specifically when you only want to be attacking with one creature at a time.
For someone who wants to get into cube and has only recently started playing on mtgo: how are the events run for this format? how much does it cost? is it 3 round swiss? single elim? what is the typical payout?
I've done 20+ m13 sealed events and at least that many drafts (some 4-3-2-2's but mostly 8-4's) and I rarely lose to planeswalkers. I think it has just been bad luck for you. There are plenty of bombs, but there are also a good amount of removal/ways to deal with threats in every color and if your deck is good you shouldn't be able to lose solely to a planeswalker (except bolos or maybe jace if you are already low on cards).
Personally I am not a fan of the planeswalkers because they are repetative and I'm bored with them, but I'd much rather open a krenko than any of them from a power standpoint anyways so...
I just remembered Julien Nuijten out of the blue and how he was only 15 when he won worlds in 2004, so I looked up the event coverage and I noticed that neither player in the final was even using sleeves..
I also come from the pre-playmat era and do not understand it at all. I get that for casual dudes playing in random places this would be useful. But the whole dirty card argument I just don't get for playing at LGS tables. Like how gross is your LGS that the tables are that dirty that you need a mat?
I played for years on LGS tables and never thought even once that I needed a mat. The very worst I have ever seen on a table is like a few food crumbs, which you can easily whisk away with your hand. Now if you sit here and argue with me that you like the art on your playmat, this I can understand, but the entire dirty table thing just seems like an excuse more so then a real reason.
Yea. I guess I just always thought sleeves were there for that purpose.
When I showed up to the PTQ and I was one of the few without a mat I had this weird feeling that magic had become considerably more nerdy since I stopped playing. I can't really explain why the mats make me feel that way but they are slightly offputting to me...
I played magic competatively from 2003-2008 and people rarely used playmats in sanctioned tournaments. When I received a playmat for top 8 at States in 2005 I was actually a bit surprised, and never ended up using it once.
Recently, I went to a PTQ and probably 80% of the players were using playmats. Are they just in vogue, or is there something I'm missing?
I'm not a gangster and I'd rather not hijack your discussions. Just stopping in to say hi. There's a lot less to do on salvation when there aren't 20+ pages of CI to read everyday
I have just one worry, with him having access to all levels of the Mod Lounge how are we, the average user, to know whether or not he is in fact affecting site policy?
I think Sene and viper have shown throughout this discussion that they are not the yes-men that some may have portrayed them to be; I trust they will not be swayed to act unscrupulously. Additionally, I have no reservations about Nai's ability to stand up for what he believes in.
The globals on the other hand...let's just say I'm not 100% convinced but luckily they are not admins yet.
In light of Nai's new promotion (which I somehow missed in the commotion) he must be included in the "summit" if possible.
New list:
Rian
Sene
Viper
Nai
Az
Viricide
(still want Belargeth in there as an observer but it's starting to get crowded. If he really did simply observe with *limited* participation it might not be a burden on the discussion).
Rian
Sene
Viper
Az
Viricide
(with Belgareth as an optional observer/6th)
IMO, the admins must all be involved.
Az and Viricide have provided the most comprehensive grievances with the least amount of personal baggage.
Belgareth is one of the most important and knowledgeable members of this site and has an unparalleled ability to serve as a check/balance due to his relationship with Hannes and his deep roots in this community.
Point of fact, there are only the following people who are regular Gutter contributors (assuming that they are) who I can think of who don't belong on this list.
Talore
Teia
Misclick
Shazbot
Aaaaaannnnnd, that's about it.

How would providing a list of our members allow you to decide who was naughty or nice? What gives you the authority to make generalizations about a community on this forum?
You know very little about the people you are stereotyping.
It acts as self-verification to some that sexual experience does not directly correlate with 'success'.
In society today, popular youth culture has a view that sexual experience equates to popularity and success and fame. Whether by choice or desperate inability, some people are inexperienced and citing and looking up to past successes that carry a similar feature to yourself is a morale boost.
It is common for some people to seek correlation between two completely unrelated traits (in this case it is success/fame and sexual experience) in order to attach a link between oneself and the idolized person.
QFT. The vast majority of this list was either not a virgin or most likely homosexual, aka not a virgin. This whole thread is rather pointless because their is no way to prove or disprove any of it and it serves little intellectual purpose.

The game has come quite a ways

Does anyone else feel that way?
