Odd. I could swear that my conservator does not say "mono artifact," but says 3:prevent 2 damage. I'll have to look at that again. Devil is in the details...
Since they are a "land," and they count as either a forest or an island (eg tropical island), and these cards predate lands being labeled not as "land," but "basic land" and "land," I am not certain on one key piece of the rule.
In a Commander deck, could I have multiples of old dual lands? I run a 5 color deck, so easy (and quick) access to multiple land types is of mega importance.
I don't play tournament play, but I do usually follow the rules--in accordance to what the cards themselves specify. I'm not all that interested in re-reading ruling for thousands of cards, especially considering the age of my collection (back to 1993).
I get into fights about my early Conservator on that note... 3:Prevent 2 damage vs 3,tap: prevent 2 damage.
Is it possible to use Conspiracy or Xenograft to make all of your creatures 'walls' ?
That IS a creature type, is it not?
Thanks for clearing up the multiland detail.
