You have to admit though that it will be awkward when you sit down for a Commander game which turns out to be: Frodo vs Optimus Prime vs Negan vs Ryu vs Post Malone. Hilarious as that is, there should almost be a rule at sanctioned events where at least one Commander in each game has to be an authentic character from Magic The Gathering lore, if for no other reason than the sake of tradition.
Printing Flowering of the White Tree further guarantees nobody will ever play crusade again (no point card tagging since the art is censored, which I still think was an overreaction, and I say that as a Jew)
Not necessarily. Scorched Ruins and Lotus Vale seem amazing, but when they get destroyed within a turn by Wasteland or sinkhole, it makes their controllers cry. We simply need more efficient land destruction more regularly to counterbalance such risky-to-play lands and keep them in check. City of Traitors is the one which should never have been printed since the drawback is even less significant than ancient tomb
EDIT: Oh, and Tolarian academy obviously. That was as broken as any land could be!
Grand Arbiter Augustin IV may find room for this as well
She's hardcore
I don't even ride my bike without a helmet!
Go figure
I like this card.
Another alternate Commander in my Daretti, Chiss-goria, Feldon, Kurkesh, and Slobad deck
Also works with Magda
It's currently listed at $200 CAD (Source: https://www.facetofacegames.com/yargle-glutton-of-urborg-326-500-planar-showcase-foil-scan-8146/ )
Personally, I'd trade it at the earliest available opportunity for anything on the Reserved list which sees play in Commander (like intuition), a played dual land, or a played wheel of fortune) as those cards will appreciate more in value over time. I'd even prefer to have a judge promo or masterpiece copy of sword of fire and ice (sorry, not sure how to link the correct art as that isn't it) over a serialized copy of Yargle which very few people would even care about as it's too niche and not particularly good or competitive in any format. But that's just me, so if you want to get it graded and sit on it for a decade, that's your gamble to take, but I just can't imagine throngs of people lining up with big offers for such a card unless they're a completionist who is trying to get every serialized copy of Yargle, or a serialized copy of every such card in the set.
These "serialized" variants of otherwise underwhelming mediocre cards are beyond gimmicky; pseudo collectibles which only have a value now due to artificial scarcity, but honestly, will Yargle ever be a card which sees much play and becomes "in demand"? Highly unlikely. However, if I'm wrong, you're free to come back to me years from now to say "I told you so", and I'll eat crow
